1. फिर उस ने अपने चेलों से कहा; हो नहीं सकता कि ठोकरें न लगें, परन्तु हाय, उस मनुष्य पर जिस के कारण वे आती है!

1. Jesus said to his followers, 'Things will surely happen that will make people sin. But it will be very bad for anyone who makes this happen.

2. जो इन छोटों में से किसी एक को ठोकर खिलाता है, उसके लिये यह भला होता, कि चक्की का पाट उसके गले में लटकाया जाता, और वह समुद्र में डाल दिया जाता।

2. It will be very bad for anyone who makes one of these little children sin. It would be better for them to have a millstone tied around their neck and be drowned in the sea.

3. सचेत रहो; यदि तेरा भाई अपराध करे तो उसे समझा, और यदि पछताए तो उसे क्षमा कर।

3. So be careful! 'If your brother or sister in God's family does something wrong, warn them. If they are sorry for what they did, forgive them.

4. यदि दिन भर में वह सात बार तेरा अपराध करे और सातों बार तेरे पास फिर आकर कहे, कि मैं पछताता हूं, तो उसे क्षमा कर।।

4. Even if they do something wrong to you seven times in one day, but they say they are sorry each time, you should forgive them.'

5. तब प्रेरितों ने प्रभु से कहा, हमारा विश्वास बढ़ा।

5. The apostles said to the Lord, 'Give us more faith!'

6. प्रभु ने कहा; कि यदि तुम को राई के दाने के बराबर भी विश्वास होता, तो तुम इस तूत के पेड़ से कहते कि जड़ से उखड़कर समुद्र में लग जा, तो वह तुम्हारी मान लेता।

6. The Lord said, 'If your faith is as big as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Dig yourself up and plant yourself in the ocean!' And the tree will obey you.

7. पर तुम में से ऐसा कौन है, जिस का दास हल जोतता, या भेंड़ें चराता हो, और जब वह खेत से आए, तो उस से कहे तुरन्त आकर भोजन करने बैठ?

7. Suppose one of you has a servant who has been working in the field, plowing or caring for the sheep. When he comes in from work, what would you say to him? Would you say, 'Come in, sit down and eat'?

8. और यह न कहे, कि मेरा खाना तैयार कर: और जब तक मैं खाऊं- पीऊं तब तक कमर बान्धकर मेरी सेवा कर; इस के बाद तू भी खा पी लेना।

8. Of course not! You would say to your servant, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Then get ready and serve me. When I finish eating and drinking, then you can eat.'

9. क्या वह उस दास का निहोरा मानेगा, कि उस ने वे ही काम किए जिस की आज्ञा दी गई थी?

9. The servant should not get any special thanks for doing his job. He is only doing what his master told him to do.

10. इसी रीति से तुम भी, जब उन सब कामों को कर चुको जिस की आज्ञा तुम्हें दी गई थी, तो कहा, हम निकम्मे दास हैं; कि जो हमें करना चाहिए था वही किया है।।

10. It is the same with you. When you finish doing all that you are told to do, you should say, 'We are not worthy of any special thanks. We have only done the work we should do.''

11. और ऐसा हुआ कि वह यरूशलेम को जाते हुए सामरिया और गलील के बीच से होकर जो रहा था।

11. Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem. He went from Galilee to Samaria.

12. और किसी गांव में प्रवेश करते समय उसे दस कोढ़ी मिले।

12. He came into a small town, and ten men met him there. They did not come close to him, because they all had leprosy.

13. और उन्हों ने दूर खड़े होकर, ऊंचे शब्द से कहा, हे यीशु, हे स्वामी, हम पर दया कर।

13. But the men shouted, 'Jesus! Master! Please help us!'

14. उस ने उन्हें देखकर कहा, जाओ; और अपने तई याजकों को दिखाओ; और जाते ही जाते वे शुद्ध हो गए।

14. When Jesus saw the men, he said, 'Go and show yourselves to the priests.' While the ten men were going to the priests, they were healed.

15. तब उन में से एक यह देखकर कि मैं चंगा हो गया हूं, ऊंचे शब्द से परमेश्वर की बड़ाई करता हुआ लौटा।

15. When one of them saw that he was healed, he went back to Jesus. He praised God loudly.

16. और यीशु के पांवों पर मुंह के बल गिरकर, उसका धन्यवाद करने लगा; और वह सामरी था।

16. He bowed down at Jesus' feet and thanked him. (He was a Samaritan. )

17. इस पर यीशु ने कहा, क्या दसों शुद्ध न हुए तो फिर वे नौ कहां हैं?

17. Jesus said, 'Ten men were healed; where are the other nine?

18. क्या इस परदेशी को छोड़ कोई और न निकला, जो परमेश्वर की बड़ाई करता?

18. This man is not even one of our people. Is he the only one who came back to give praise to God?'

19. तब उस ने उस से कहा; उठकर चला जा; तेरे विश्वास ने तुझे चंगा किया है।।

19. Then Jesus said to the man, 'Stand up! You can go. You were healed because you believed.'

20. जब फरीसियों ने उस से पूछा, कि परमेश्वर का राज्य कब आएगा? तो उस ने उन को उत्तर दिया, कि पमेश्वर का राज्य प्रगट रूप में नहीं आता।

20. Some of the Pharisees asked Jesus, 'When will God's kingdom come?' Jesus answered, 'God's kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you can see it.

21. और लोग यह न कहेंगे, कि देखो, यहां है, या वहां है, क्योंकि देखो, परमेश्वर का राज्य तुम्हारे बीच में है।।

21. People will not say, 'Look, God's kingdom is here!' or 'There it is!' No, God's kingdom is here with you. '

22. और उस ने चेलों से कहा; वे दिन आएंगे, जिन में तुम मनुष्य के पुत्रा के दिनों में से एक दिन को देखना चाहोगे, और नहीं देखने पाओगे।

22. Then Jesus said to his followers, 'The time will come when you will want very much to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not be able to.

23. लोग तुम से कहेंगे, देखो, वहां है, या देखो यहां है; परन्तु तुम चले न जाना और न उन के पीछे हो लेना।

23. People will say to you, 'Look, there it is!' or 'Look, here it is!' Stay where you are; don't go away and search.

24. क्योंकि जैसे बिजली आकाश की एक ओर से कौन्धकर आकाश की दूसरी ओर चमकती है, वैसे ही मनुष्य का पुत्रा भी अपने दिन में प्रगट होगा।

24. When the Son of Man comes again, you will know it. On that day he will shine like lightning flashes across the sky.

25. परन्तु पहिले अवश्य है, कि वह बहुत दुख उठाए, और इस युग के लोग उसे तुच्छ ठहराएं।

25. But first, the Son of Man must suffer many things. The people of today will refuse to accept him.

26. जैसा नूह के दिनों में हुआ था, वैसा ही मनुष्य के पुत्रा के दिनों में भी होगा।

26. When the Son of Man comes again, it will be the same as it was when Noah lived.

27. जिस दिन तक नूह जहाज पर न चढ़ा, उस दिन तक लोग खाते- पीते थे, और उन में ब्याह- शादी होती थीे; तब जल- प्रलय ने आकर उन सब को नाश किया।

27. People were eating, drinking, and getting married even on the day when Noah entered the boat. Then the flood came and killed them all.

28. और जैसा लूत के दिनों में हुआ था, कि लोग खाते- पीते लेन- देन करते, पेड़ लगाते और घर बनाते थे।
उत्पत्ति 18:20-21, उत्पत्ति 19:1-14

28. It will be the same as during the time of Lot, when God destroyed Sodom. Those people were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, and building houses for themselves.

29. परन्तु जिस दिन लूत सदोम से निकला, उस दिन आग और गन्धक आकाश से बरसी और सब को नाश कर दिया।

29. They were doing these things even on the day when Lot left town. Then fire and sulfur rained down from the sky and killed them all.

30. मनुष्य के पुत्रा के प्रगट होने के दिन भी ऐसा ही होगा।

30. This is exactly how it will be when the Son of Man comes again.

31. उस दिन जो कोठे पर हो; और उसका सामान घर में हो, वह उसे लेने को न उतरे, और वैसे ही जो खेत में हो वह पीछे न लौटे।

31. On that day if a man is on his roof, he will not have time to go inside and get his things. If a man is in the field, he cannot go back home.

32. Remember what happened to Lot's wife!

33. जो कोई अपना प्राण बचाना चाहे वह उसे खोएगा, और जो कोई उसे खोए वह उसे जीवित रखेगा।

33. Whoever tries to keep the life they have will lose it. But whoever gives up their life will save it.

34. मैं तुम से कहता हूं, उस रात को मनुष्य एक खाट पर होंगे, एक ले लिया जाएगा, और दूसरा छोड़ दिया जाएगा।

34. That night there may be two people sleeping in one room. One will be taken and the other will be left.

35. दो स्त्रियां एक साथ चक्की पीसती होंगी, एक ले ली जाएगी, और दूसरी छोड़ दी जाएगी।

35. There may be two women working together. One will be taken and the other will be left.'

36. दो जन खेत में होंगे एक ले लिया जाएगा और दूसरा छोड़ा जाएगा।

37. The followers asked Jesus, 'Where will this be, Lord?' Jesus answered, 'It's like looking for a dead body�you will find it where the vultures are gathering above.'
