1. इतने में जब हजारों की भीड़ लग गई, यहां तक कि एक दूसरे पर गिरे पड़ते थे, तो वह सब से पहिले अपने चेलों से कहने लगा, कि फरीसियों के कपटरूपी खमीर से चौकस रहना।

1. In ye meane tyme, whe ther were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people [insomuch] that they trode one another, he began to saye vnto his disciples. First of all, beware of the leuen of the pharisees, which is hypocrisie.

2. कुछ ढपा नहीं, जो खोला न जाएगा; और न कुछ छिपा है, जो जाना न जाएगा।

2. For there is nothyng couered, that shall not be vncouered, neither hyd, that shall not be knowen.

3. इसलिये जो कुछ तुम ने अन्धेरे में कहा है, वह उजाने में सुना जाएगा: और जो तुम ने कोठरियों में कानों कान कहा है, वह कोठों पर प्रचार किया जाएगा।

3. Therfore, whatsoeuer you haue spoken in darkenesse, shalbe hearde in the light: and that which ye haue spoken in the eare, euen in secrete places, shalbe preached on the toppe of the houses.

4. परन्तु मैं तुम से जो मेरे मित्रा हो कहता हूं, कि जो शरीर को घात करते हैं परन्तु उसके पीछे और कुछ नहीं कर सकते उन से मत डरो।

4. And I say vnto you my friendes, be not afrayde of them that kyll the body, and after that, haue no more that they can do.

5. मैं तुम्हें चिताता हूं कि तुम्हें किस से डरना चाहिए, घात करते के बाद जिस को नरक में डालने का अधिकार है, उसी से डरो : बरन मैं तुम से कहता हूं उसी से डरो।

5. But I wyll forewarne you who you shall feare: Feare hym, which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell, yea I say vnto you, feare hym.

6. क्या दो पैसे की पांच गौरैयां नहीं बिकती? तौभी परमेश्वर उन में से एक को भी नहीं भूलता।

6. Are not fyue sparrowes bought for two farthynges? and not one of them is forgotten before God.

7. बरन तुम्हारे सिर के सब बाल भी गिने हुए हैं, सो डरो नहीं, तुम बहुत गौरैयों से बढ़कर हो।

7. Also, eue the very heeres of your head are all numbred. Feare not therfore, ye are more of value the many sparrowes.

8. मैं तुम से कहता हूं जो कोई मनुष्यों के साम्हने मुझे मान लेगा उसे मनुष्य का पुत्रा भी परमेश्वर के स्वर्गदूतों के सामहने मान लेगा।

8. Also I say vnto you, whosoeuer confesseth me before men, hym shall the sonne of man knowledge also, before the angels of God.

9. परन्तु जो मनुष्यों के साम्हने मुझे इन्कार करे उसका परमेश्वर के स्वर्गदूतों के साम्हने इन्कार किया जाएगा।

9. But he that denyeth me before men, shalbe denyed before the angels of God.

10. जो कोई मनुष्य के पुत्रा के विरोध में कोई बात कहे, उसका वह अपराध क्षमा किया जाएगा।

10. And whosoeuer speaketh a worde agaynst the sonne of man, it shalbe forgeuen hym: But vnto hym that blasphemeth the holy ghost, it shall not be forgeuen.

11. जब लोग तुम्हें सभाओं और हाकिमों और अधिकारियों के साम्हने ले जाएं, तो चिन्ता न करना कि हम किस रीति से या क्या उत्तर दें, या क्या कहें।

11. And when they bryng you vnto the synagogues, and vnto the rulers and officers, take ye no thought, how or what thyng ye shall aunswere, or what ye shall speake.

12. क्योंकि पवित्रा आत्मा उसी घड़ी तुम्हें सिखा देगा, कि क्या कहना चाहिए।।

12. For the holy ghost shall teache you in the same houre what ye ought to say.

13. फिर भीड़ में से एक ने उस से कहा, हे गुरू, मेरे भाई से कह, कि पिता की संपत्ति मुझे बांट दे।

13. One of the companie sayde vnto hym: Maister, speake to my brother, that he deuide the inheritauce with me.

14. उस ने उस से कहा; हे मनुष्य, किस ने मुझे तुम्हारा न्यायी या बांटनेवाला नियुक्त किया है?

14. And he sayde vnto hym: Man, who made me a iudge or a deuider ouer you?

15. और उस ने उन से कहा, चौकस रहो, और हर प्रकार के लोभ से अपने आप को बचाए रखो: क्योंकि किसी का जीवन उस की संपत्ति की बहुतायत से नहीं होता।

15. And he sayde vnto them, Take heede & beware of couetousnes: For no mans lyfe standeth in the aboundaunce of the thynges which he possesseth.

16. उस ने उन से एक दृष्टान्त कहा, कि किसी धनवान की भूमि में बड़ी उपज हुई।

16. And he put foorth a similitude vnto the, saying: The grounde of a certaine ryche man brought foorth plentifull fruites.

17. तब वह अपने मन में विचार करने लगा, कि मैं क्या करूं, क्योंकि मेरे यहां जगह नहीं, जहां अपनी उपज इत्यादि रखूं।

17. And he thought within him selfe, saying, What shall I do, because I haue no rowme where to bestow my fruites?

18. और उस ने कहा; मैं यह करूंगा: मैं अपनी बखारियां तोड़ कर उन से बड़ी बनाऊंगा;

18. And he sayde, this wyll I do, I wyll destroy my barnes, and buylde greater, and therin wyll I gather all my fruites and my goodes.

19. और वहां अपना सब अन्न और संपत्ति रखूंगा: और अपने प्राण से कहूंगा, कि प्राण, तेरे पास बहुत वर्षों के लिये बहुत संपत्ति रखी है; चैन कर, खा, पी, सुख से रह।

19. And I wyll saye to my soule: Soule, thou hast much goods layed vp [in store] for many yeres, take thyne ease, eate, drynke, and be mery.

20. परन्तु परमेश्वर ने उस से कहा; हे मूर्ख, इसी रात तेरा प्राण तुझ से ले लिया जाएगा: तब जो कुछ तू ने इकट्ठा किया है, वह किस का होगा?

20. But God sayde vnto hym: Thou foole, this nyght wyll they fetch awaye thy soule againe fro thee: Then whose shall those thynges be, which thou hast prouided?

21. ऐसा ही वह मनुष्य भी है जो अपने लिये धन बटोरता है, परन्तु परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धनी नहीं।।

21. So is he that gathereth riches to him selfe, and is not ryche towardes God.

22. फिर उस ने अपने चेलों से कहा; इसलिये मैं तुम से कहता हूं, अपने प्राण की चिन्ता न करो, कि हम क्या खाएंगे; न अपने शरीर की कि क्या पहिनेंगे।

22. And he spake vnto his disciples: Therfore I say vnto you, take no thought for your lyfe, what ye shall eate, neither for the body what ye shall put on.

23. क्योंकि भोजन से प्राण, और वस्त्रा से शरीर बढ़कर है।

23. The lyfe is more then meate, and the body is more then rayment.

24. कौवों पर ध्यान दो; वे न बोते हैं, न काटते; न उन के भण्डार और न खत्ता होता है; तौभी परमेश्वर उन्हें पालता है; तुम्हारा मूल्य पक्षियों से कहीं अधिक है।

24. Consider the Rauens, for they neither sowe nor reape, whiche neither haue storehouse nor barne, and God feedeth them: Howe much more are ye better then [fethered] fowles?

25. तुम में से ऐसा कौन है, जो चिन्ता करने से अपनी अवस्था में ऐक घड़ी भी बड़ा सकता है?

25. Which of you, with takyng thought, can adde to his stature one cubite?

26. इसलिये यदि तुम सब से छोटा काम भी नहीं कर सकते, तो और बातों के लिये क्यों चिन्ता करते हो?

26. If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least: why take ye thought for the remnaunt?

27. सोसनों के पेड़ों पर ध्यान करो कि वे कैसे बढ़ते हैं; वे न परिश्रम करते, न कातते हैं: तौभी मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि सुलैमान भी, अपने सारे विभव में, उन में से किसी एक के समान वस्त्रा पहिने हुए न था।

27. Consider the Lylies how they growe, they labour not, they spinne not: and yet I say vnto you, that Solomon in al his royaltie was not clothed lyke one of these.

28. इसलिये यदि परमेश्वर मैदान की घास को जो आज है, और कर भाड़ में झोंकी जाएगी, ऐसा पहिनाता है; तो हे अल्प विश्वासियों, वह तुम्हें क्यों न पहिनाएगा?

28. If God so clothe the grasse, whiche is to daye in the fielde, and to morowe is cast into the furnasse, howe much more wyll he clothe you, O ye of litle fayth?

29. और तुम इस बात की खोज में न रहो, कि क्या खाएंगे और क्या पीएंगे, और न सन्देह करो।

29. And aske not ye what ye shall eate, or what ye shall drynke, neither be ye of doubtfull mynde:

30. क्योंकि संसार की जातियां इन सब वस्तुओं की खोज में रहती हैं: और तुम्हारा पिता जानता है, कि तुम्हें इन वस्तुओं की आवश्यकता है।

30. For all suche thynges do the [Heathen] people of the worlde seke for: and your father knoweth that ye haue neede of these thynges.

31. परन्तु उसके राज्य की खोज में रहो, तो ये वस्तुएें भी तुम्हें मिल जाएंगी।

31. But rather seke ye after ye kyngdome of God, and all these thinges shalbe ministred vnto you.

32. हे छोटे झुण्ड, मत डर; क्योंकि तुम्हारे पिता को यह भाया है, कि तुम्हें राज्य दे।

32. Feare not litle flocke, for it is your fathers pleasure to geue you a kyngdome.

33. अपनी संपत्ति बेचकर दान कर दो; और अपने लिये ऐसे बटुए बनाओ, जो पुराने नहीं होते, अर्थात् स्वर्ग पर ऐसा धन इकट्ठा करो जो घटता नहीं और जिस के निकट चोर नहीं जाता, और कीड़ा नहीं बिगाड़ता।

33. Sell that ye haue, and geue almes: and prepare you bagges whiche waxe not olde, euen a treasure that fayleth not in heauen, where no thiefe cometh, neither moth corrupteth.

34. क्योंकि जहां तुम्हारा धन है, वहां तुम्हारा मन भी लगा रहेगा।।

34. For where your treasure is, there wyl your hearte be also.

35. तुम्हारी कमरें बन्धी रहें, और तुम्हारे दीये जलते रहें।

35. Let your loynes be girde about, and your lyghtes brennyng,

36. और तुम उन मनुष्यों के समान बनो, जो अपने स्वामी की बाट देख रहे हों, कि वह ब्याह से कब लौटेगा; कि जब वह आकर द्वार खटखटाए,स्राते तुरन्त उसके खोल दें।

36. And ye your selues like vnto men, that wayte for their Lorde, when he wyll returne from the weddyng, that when he commeth, and knocketh, they maye open vnto hym immediatly.

37. धन्य हैं वे दास, जिन्हें स्वामी आकर जागते पाए; मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि वह कमर बान्ध कर उन्हें भोजन करने को बैठाएगा, और पास आकर उन की सेवा करेगा।

37. Happy are those seruauntes, who the Lorde, when he commeth, shall fynde wakyng. Ueryly I say vnto you, that he shall girde him selfe, and make them to syt downe to meate, and wyll come foorth, and minister vnto them.

38. यदि वह रात के दूसरे पहर या तीसरे पहर में आकर उन्हें जागते पाए, तो वे दास धन्य हैं।

38. And yf he come in the seconde watche, yea if he come in the thirde watche, and fynde them so, happye are those seruauntes.

39. परन्तु तुम यह जान रखो, कि यदि घर का स्वामी जानता, कि चोर किस घड़ी आएगा, तो जागता रहता, और अपने घर में सेंघ लगने न देता।

39. This vnderstande, that yf the good man of the house knew what houre the thiefe woulde come, he woulde surely watche, and not suffer his house to be dygged through.

40. तुम भी तैयार रहो; क्योंकि जिस घड़ी तुम सोचते भी नहीं, उस घड़ी मनुष्य का पुत्रा आ जावेगा।

40. Be ye therfore redy also, for ye sonne of man wyll come at an houre when ye thynke not.

41. तब पतरस ने कहा, हे प्रभु, क्या यह दृष्टान्त तू हम ही से या सब से कहता है।

41. Then Peter saide vnto him: Maister, tellest thou this similitude vnto vs, or to all [men?]

42. प्रभु ने कहा; वह विश्वासयोग्य और बुद्धिमान भण्डारी कौन है, जिस का स्वामी उसे नौकर चाकरों पर सरदार ठहराए कि उन्हें समय पर सीधा दे।

42. And the Lorde saide: Who is a faythfull and wyse stewarde, whom his lorde shall make ruler ouer his housholde, to geue them their portion of meate in due season?

43. धन्य है वह दास, जिसे उसका स्वामी आकर ऐसा ही करते पाए।

43. Happye is that seruaunt, whom his lorde when he commeth, shall fynde so doyng.

44. मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं; वह उसे अपनी सब संपत्ति पर सरदार ठहराएगा।

44. Of a trueth I saye vnto you, that he wyll make hym ruler ouer all that he hath.

45. परन्तु यदि वह दास सोचने लगे, कि मेरा स्वामी आने में देर कर रहा है, और दासों और दासियों को मारने पीटने और खाने पीने और पियक्कड़ होने लगे।

45. But & yf that seruaut say in his heart, my lorde wyll deferre his commyng, and shall begyn to smyte the seruauntes and maydens, and to eate and drynke, and to be dronken,

46. तो उस दास का स्वामी ऐसे दिन कि वह उस की बाट जाहता न रहे, और ऐसी घड़ी जिसे वह जानता न हो आएगा, और उसे भारी ताड़ना देकर उसका भाग अविश्वासियों के साथ ठहराएगा।

46. The Lord of that seruaunt wyll come in a day when he thynketh not, and at an houre when he is not ware, and wyll hewe hym in peeces, and geue hym his portion with the vnbeleuers.

47. और वह दास जो अपने स्वामी की इच्छा जानता था, और तैयार न रहा और न उस की इच्छा के अनुसार चला बहुत मार खाएगा।

47. And the seruaunt that knewe his maisters wyll, and prepared not hym selfe, neither dyd accordyng to his wyll, shalbe beaten with many strypes.

48. परन्तु जो नहीं जानकर मार खाने के योग्य काम करे वह थोड़ी मार खाएगा, इसलिये जिसे बहुत दिया गया है, उस से बहुत मांगा जाएगा, और जिसे बहुत सौंपा गया है, उस से बहुत मांगेंगें।।

48. But he that knewe not, and did comit thynges worthy of strypes, shalbe beaten with fewe strypes. For vnto whosoeuer much is geuen, of him shalbe much required: and to whom men haue committed much, of hym wyl they aske the more.

49. मैं पृथ्वी पर आग लगाने आया हूं; और क्या चाहता हूं केवल यह कि अभी सुलग जाती !

49. I am come to sende fire on ye earth, and what is my desire, but that it be alredye kindled?

50. मुझे तो एक बपतिस्मा लेता है; और जब तक वह न हो ले तब तक मैं कैसी सकेती में रहूंगा?

50. Notwithstandyng, I must be baptized with a baptisme, and howe am I payned tyll it be ended?

51. क्या तुम समझते हो कि मैं पृथ्वी पर मिलाप कराने आया हूं? मैं कहता हूं; नहीं, बरन अलग कराने आया हूं।

51. Suppose ye that I am come to sende peace on earth? I tell you naye, but rather deuision.

52. क्योंकि अब से एक घर में पांच जन आपस में विरोध रखेंगे, तीन दो से दो तीन से।

52. For fro hencefoorth there shalbe fyue in one house deuided, three against two, and two against three.

53. पिता पुत्रा से, और पुत्रा पिता से विरोध रखेगा; मां बेटी से, और बेटी मां से, सास बहू से, और बहू सास से विरोध रखेगी।।

53. The father shalbe deuided against the sonne, and the sonne against the father: The mother agaynst the daughter, and the daughter agaynst the mother: The mother in lawe against her daughter in lawe, and the daughter in lawe against her mother in lawe.

54. और उस ने भीड़ से भी कहा, जब बादल को पच्छिम से उठते देखते हो, तो तुरन्त कहते हो, कि वर्षा होगी; और ऐसा ही होता है।

54. He sayde also to the people: When ye see a cloude rise out of the west, straightway ye say there cometh a showre, and so it is.

55. और जब दक्खिना चलती दखते हो तो कहते हो, कि लूह चलेगी, और ऐसा ही होता है।

55. And whe ye see the south wynd blow, ye say it wyll be hotte, and it commeth to passe.

56. हे कपटियों, तुम धरती और आकाश के रूप में भेद कर सकते हो, परन्तु इस युग के विषय में क्यों भेद करना नहीं जानते?

56. Ye hypocrites, ye can discerne the outwarde appearaunce of the skye, and of the earth: but howe is it that ye cannot discerne this tyme?

57. और तुम आप ही निर्णय क्यों नहीं कर लेते, कि उचित क्या है?

57. Yea, and why iudge ye not of your selues what is ryght?

58. जब तू अपने मु ई के साथ हाकिम के पास जा रहा है, तो मार्ग ही में उस से छूटने का यत्न कर ले ऐसा न हो, कि वह तुझे न्यायी के पास खींच ले जाए, और न्यायी तुझे प्यादे को सौंपे और प्यादा तुझे बन्दीगृह में डाल दे।

58. When thou goest with thine aduersarie to the ruler, as thou art in the waye, geue diligence that thou mayest be deliuered from hym, lest he bryng thee to the iudge, and the iudge deliuer thee to the iayler, and the iayler caste thee into prison.

59. मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि जब तक तू दमड़ी दमड़ी भर न देगा तब तक वहां से छूटने न पाएगा।।

59. I tel thee, thou shalt not depart thence, tyll thou haue made good the vtmost mite.
