1. तब यहोवा का यह वचन दूसरी बार योना के पास पहुंचा,

1. And the Word of Jehovah came to Jonah the second time, saying,

2. उठकर उस बड़े नगर नीनवे को जा, और जो बात मैं तुझ से कहूंगा, उसका उस में प्रचार कर।

2. Rise up, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out to it the proclamation that I am instructing you.

3. तब योना यहोवा के वचन के अनुसार नीनवे को गया। नीनवे एक बहुत बड़ा लगर था, वह तीन दिन की यात्रा का था।

3. And Jonah rose up and went to Nineveh according to the Word of Jehovah. And Nineveh was a great city before God, of three days' journey.

4. और योना ने नगर में प्रवेश करके एक दिन की यात्रा पूरी की, और यह प्रचार करता गया, अब से चालीस दिन के बीतने पर नीनवे उलट दिया जाएगा।

4. And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey. And he cried out and said, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!

5. तब नीनवे के मनुष्यों ने परमेश्वर के वचन की प्रतीति की; और उपवास का प्रचार किया गया और बड़े से लेकर छोटे तक सभों ने टाट ओढ़ा।
मत्ती 12:41

5. And the men of Nineveh believed in God, and they called a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

6. तब यह समाचार नीनवे के राजा के कान में पहुंचा; और उस ने सिंहासन पर से उठ, अपना राजकीय ओढ़ना उतारकर टाट ओढ़ लिया, और राख पर बैठ गया।
मत्ती 11:21

6. And the word reached even to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he took off his robe and covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes.

7. और राजा के प्रधानों से सम्मति लेकर नीनवे में इस आज्ञा का ढींढोरा पिटवाया, कि क्या मनुष्य, क्या गाय- बैल, क्या भेड़- बकरी, या और पशु, कोई कुछ भी न खाएं; वे ने खांए और न पानी पीवें।

7. And he cried and proclaimed in Nineveh by the decree of the king and of his nobles, saying, Do not let man or beast, herd or flock, taste anything; do not let them feed nor let them drink water.

8. और मनुष्य और पशु दोनों टाट ओढ़ें, और वे परमेश्वर की दोहाई चिल्ला- चिल्ला कर दें; और अपने कुमार्ग से फिरें; और उस उपद्रव से, जो वे करते हैं, पश्चाताप करें।

8. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth. And let them call mightily to God. And let them each one turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

9. सम्भव है, परमेश्वर दया करे और अपनी इच्छा बदल दे, और उसका भड़का हुआ कोप शान्त हो जाए और हम नाश होने से बच जाएं।।

9. Who knows if God may turn, and have compassion, and turn away from His burning anger, that we not perish?

10. जब परमेश्वर ने उनके कामों को देखा, कि वे कुमार्ग से फिर रहे हैं, तब परमेश्वर ने अपनी इच्छा बदल दी, और उनकी जो हानि करने की ठानी थी, उसको न किया।।
लूका 11:32

10. And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. And God was moved to pity with regard to the evil that He had spoken to do to them, and He did not do it.
