1. इस्राएल एक लहलहाती हुई दाखलता सी है, जिस में बहुत से फल भी लगे, परन्तु ज्यों ज्यों उसके फल बढ़े, त्यों त्यों उस ने अधिक वेदियां बनाईं जैसे जैसे उसकी भूमि सुधरी, वैसे ही वे सुन्दर लाटें बनाते गये।

1. Israel [is] an emptie vine, [yet] hath it brought foorth fruite to it selfe, accordyng to the multitude of the fruite therof he hath encreased alwayes: accordyng to the goodnesse of their lande they haue made them faire images.

2. उनका मन बटा हुआ है; अब वे दोषी ठहरेंगे। वह उनकी वेदियों को तोड़ डालेगा, और उनकी लाटों को टुकड़े टुकड़े करेगा।

2. Their heart is deuided, [therfore] shall they nowe be destroyed, [the Lorde] shall breake downe their images, he shall destroy their aulters.

3. अब वे कहेंगे, हमारे कोई राजा नहीं है, क्योंकि हम ने यहोवा का भय नहीं माना; सो राजा हमारा क्या कर सकता है?

3. For nowe shall they say, We haue no king, because we haue not feared the Lorde: and what shoulde then a king do to vs?

4. वे बातें बनाते और झूठी शपथ खाकर वाचा बान्धते हैं; इस कारण खेत की रेघारियों में धतूरे की नाईं दण्ड फूले फलेगा।

4. They haue spoken wordes, swearyng falslye in makyng a couenaunt: thus iudgement groweth as wormewood in the furrowes of the fielde.

5. सामरिया के निवासी बेतावेन के बछड़े के लिये डरते रहेंगे, और उसके लोग उसके लिये विलाप करेंगे; और उसके पुजारी जो उसके कारण मगन होते थे उसके प्रताप के लिये इस कारण विलाप करेंगे क्योंकि वह उन में से उठ गया है।

5. They that dwell in Samaria shall feare because of the Calfe of Bethauen, for the people therof shall mourne ouer it, yea and the priestes also reioyced on it for the glorie therof, because it is departed from it.

6. वह यारेब राजा की भेंट ठहरने के लिये अश्शूर देश में पहुंचाया जएगा। एप्रैम लज्जित होगा, और इस्राएल भी अपनी युक्ति से लजाएगा।।

6. It shalbe brought to the Assyrian for a present to the king Iareb: Ephraim shall receaue shame, and Israel shalbe confounded for his owne imaginations.

7. सामरिया अपने राजा समेत जल के बुलबुले की नाईं मिट जाएगा।

7. Samaria with his king shall vanishe away, as the fome vpon the water.

8. और आवेन के ऊंचे स्थान जो इस्राएल क पाप है, वे नाश होंगे। उनकी वेदियों पर झड़बेरी, पेड़ और ऊंटकटारे उगेंगे; और उस समय लोग पहाड़ों से कहने लगेंगे, हम को छिपा लो, और टीलों से कि हम पर गिर पड़ो।।

8. The hye places of Auen where Israel doth sinne shalbe destroyed, thistles and thornes shal growe vpon their aulters: then shall they say to the mountaynes, Couer vs, & to the hylles, Fall vpon vs.

9. हे इस्राएल, तू गिबा के दिनों में पाप करता आया है; वे उसी में बने रहें; क्या वे गिबा में कुटिल मनुष्यों के संग लड़ाई में न फंसे?

9. O Israel, thou hast sinned from the dayes of Gabaa: there they stoode, the battayle in Gabaa agaynst the children of iniquitie did not touche them.

10. जब मेरी इच्छा होगी तब मैं उन्हें ताड़ना दूंगा, और देश देश के लोग उनके विरूद्ध इकट्ठे हो जाएंगे; क्योंकि वे अपने दोनों अधर्मों में फसें हुए हैं।।

10. It is my desire that I shoulde chastise them: and the people shalbe gathered agaynst them, when they shall ioyne them selues together in their two furrowes.

11. एप्रैम सीखी हुई बछिया है, जो अन्न दांवने से प्रसन्न होती है, परन्तु मैं ने उसकी सुन्दर गर्दन पर जुआ रखा है; मैं एप्रैम पर सवार चढ़ाऊंगा; यहूदा हल, और याकूब हेंगा खींचेगा।

11. And Ephraim [is as] an heyffer vsed to delyte in treadyng out the corne: but I wyll passe by her faire necke, I wyll make Ephraim to ride: Iuda shall plowe, [and] Iacob shall breake his cloddes.

12. अपने लिये धर्म का बीज बोओ, तब करूणा के अनुसार खेत काटने पाओगे; अपनी पड़ती भूमि को जोतो; देखो, अभी यहोवा के पीछे हो लेने का समय है, कि वह आए और तुम्हारे ऊपर उद्धार बरसाए।।

12. Sowe to your selues in righteousnesse, and reape the fruites of well doyng, plowe vp your freshe lande: for it is tyme to seeke the Lorde tyll he come and rayne righteousnesse vpon you.

13. तुम ने दुष्टता के लिये हल जोता और अन्याय का खेत काटा है; और तुम ने धोखे का फल खाया है। और यह इसलिये हुआ क्योंकि तुम ने अपने कुव्यवहार पर, और अपने बहुत से वीरों पर भरोसा रखा था।

13. For you haue plowed vngodlinesse, ye haue reaped iniquitie, you haue eaten the fruite of lyes, because thou puttest thy confidence in thine owne wayes, and leanest to the multitude of thy strong men.

14. इस कारण तुम्हारे लोगों में हुल्लड़ उठेगा, और तुम्हारे सब गढ़ ऐसे नाश किए जाएंगे जैसा बेतर्बेल नगर युद्ध के समय शल्मन के द्वारा नाश किया गया; उस समय माताएं अपने बच्चों समेत पटक दी गईं थी।

14. There shall growe a sedition among thy people, all thy strong cities shalbe layde waste, euen as Salma destroyed Beth Arbel in the day of battayle, where the mother with the children were dasshed in peeces.

15. तुम्हारी अत्यन्त बुराई के कारण बेतेल से भी इसी प्रकार का व्यवहार किया जाएगा। भोर होते ही इस्राएल का राजा पूरी रीति से मिट जाएगा।।

15. Euen so shall Bethel do vnto you because of your malitious wickednesse: in a mornyng shall the king of Israel be destroyed.
