1. फिर यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,

1. The worde of the LORDE came vnto me, sayenge:

2. हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, सब वृक्षों में अंगूर की लता की क्या श्रेष्ठता है? अंगूर की शाखा जो जंगल के पेड़ों के बीच उत्पन्न होती है, उस में क्या गुण है?

2. Thou sonne of man: What commeth of the vyne amonge all other trees? and of the wyne stocke, amoge all other tymbre of the groaue?

3. क्या कोई वस्तु बनाने के लिये उस में से लकड़ी ली जाती, वा कोई बर्तन टांगने के लिये उस में से खूंटी बन सकती है?

3. Do me take wodd of it, to make eny worke withall? Or maye there a nale be made of it, to hange eny thinge vpon?

4. वह तो ईन्धन बनाकर आग में झोंकी जाती है; उसके दोनों सिरे आग से जल जाते, और उसके बीख् का भाग भस्म हो जाता है, क्या वह किसी भी काम की है?

4. Beholde, it is cast in the fyre to be brent, the fyre consumeth both the endes of it, the myddest is brent to a?shes. Is it mete then for eny worke? No.

5. देख, जब वह बनी थी, तब भी वह किसी काम की न थी, फिर जब वह आग का ईन्धन होकर भस्म हो गई है, तब किस काम की हो सकती है?

5. Seinge then, that it was mete for no worke, beinge whole: moch lesse maye there eny thinge be made of it, when the fyre hath consumed and brent it.

6. सो प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता है, जैसे जंगल के पेड़ों में से मैं अंगूर की लता को आग का ईन्धन कर देता हूँ, वैसे ही मैं यरूशलेम के निवासियों को नाश कर दूंगा।

6. And therfore thus saieth the LORDE God: Like as I cast the vyne in to the fyre for to be brent, as other trees of the wod: Euen so wil I do with them that dwell in Ierusalem,

7. मैं उन से विरूद्ध हूंगा, और वे एक आग में से निकलकर फिर दूसरी आग का ईन्धन हो जाएंगे; और जब मैं उन से विमुख हूंगा, तब तुम लोग जान लोगे कि मैं यहोवा हूँ।

7. and set my face agaynst them: they shall go out from the fyre, and yet the fyre shall consume them. Then shal ye knowe, that I am the LORDE, when I set my face agaynst them,

8. और मैं उनका देश उजाड़ दूंगा, क्योंकि उन्हों ने मुझ से विश्वासघात किया है, प्रभु यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

8. and make the londe waist: because they haue so sore offended, saieth the LORDE God.
