1. बाबुल और कसदियों के देश के विषय में यहोवा ने यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा यह वचन कहो

1. The word which Yahweh spake Against Babylon Against the land of the Chaldeans, through Jeremiah the prophet:

2. जातियों में बताओ, सुनाओ और झण्डा खड़ा करो; सुनाओ, मत छिपाओ कि बाबुल ले लिया गया, बेल का मुंह काला हो गया, मरोदक विस्मित हो गया। बाबुल की प्रतिमाएं लज्जित हुई और उसकी बेडौल मूरतें विस्मित हो गई।

2. Tell ye among the nations And let it be heard And lift ye up a standard, Let it be heard do not conceal: Say ye Captured is Babylon, Confounded is Bel, Broken in pieces is Merodach, Confounded are her images, Broken down her manufactured gods;

3. क्योंकि उत्तर दिशा से एक जाति उस पर चढ़ाई करके उसके देश को यहां तक उजाड़ कर देगी, कि क्या मनुष्य, क्या पशु, अस में कोई भी न रहेगा; सब भाग जाएंगे।

3. For there hath come up against her a nation out of the North The same, shall make her land an astonishment, And there shall be none to dwell therein, Both man and beast, have removed have gone.

4. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि उन दिनों में इस्राएली और यहूदा एक संग आएंगे, वे रोते हुए अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को ढूंढ़ने के लिये चले आएंगे।

4. In those days, and at that time, Declareth Yahweh, Shall the sons of Israel come in, They and the sons of Judah together: Weeping as they travel, so shall they journey on, And Yahweh their God, shall they seek;

5. वे सिरयोन की ओर मुंह किए हुए उसका मार्ग पूछते और आपस में यह कहते आएंगे, कि आओ हम यहोवा से मेल कर लें, उसके साथ ऐसी वाचा बान्धे जो कभी भूली न जाए, परन्तु सदा स्थिर रहे।

5. To Zion, shall they ask the way, Hitherward, their faces, Come and let us join ourselves unto Yahweh, In a covenant age-abiding, which shall not be forgotten.

6. मेरी प्रजा खोई हुई भेडें हैं; उनके चरवाहों ने उनको भटका दिया और पहाड़ों पर भटकाया है; वे पहाड़- पहाड़ और पहाड़ी- पहाड़ी घूमते- घूमते अपने बैठने के स्थान को भूल गई हैं।

6. Wandering sheep, have my people, been, Their own shepherds led them astray, On the mountains, they seduced them, From mountain to hill, have they gone, They have forgotten their couching-place.

7. जितनों ने उन्हें पाया वे उन्को खा गए; और उनके सतानेवालों ने कहा, इस में हमारा कुछ दोष नहीं, क्योंकि उन्हों ने यहोवा के विरूद्व पाप किया है जो धर्म का आधार है, और उनके पूर्वजों का आश्रय था।

7. All who found them, devoured them, And, their adversaries, said We shall not be, guilty, Because they have sinned, Against, Yahweh the pasturage of righteousness, Yea the hope of their fathers Yahweh.

8. बाबुल के बीच में से भागो, कसदियों के देश से जैसे बकरे अपने झुण्ड के अगुवे होते हैं, वैसे ही निकल आओ।

8. Remove ye out of the midst of Babylon, And out of the land of the Chaldeans, come ye forth, And become ye like he-goats before the flock;

9. क्योंकि देखो, मैं उत्तर के देश से बड़ी जातियों को उभारकर उनकी मण्डली बाबुल पर चढ़ा ले आऊंगा, और वे उसके विरूद्व पांति बान्धेंगे; और उसी दिशा से वह ले लिया जाएगा। उनके तीर चतुर वीर के से होंगे; उन में से कोई अकारथ न जाएगा।

9. For lo! I am rousing and bringing up against Babylon a gathered host of great nations, out of the land of the North, And they shall array themselves against her, From thence, shall she be captured, His arrows, are as of a hero making childless, None shall return empty.

10. और कसदियों का देश ऐसा लुटेगा कि सब लूटनेवालों का पेट भर जाएगा, यहोवा की यह वाणी है।

10. So shall the Chaldeans become a spoil, All her spoilers, shall be satisfied, Declareth Yahweh;

11. हे मेरे भाग के लूटनेवालो, तुम जो मेरी प्रजा पर आनन्द करते और हुलसते हो, और घास चरनेवाली बछिया की नाई उछलते और बलवन्त घोड़ों के समान हिनहिनाते हो,

11. Because they used to be glad Because they used to be uproarious When plundering mine inheritance, Because they used to caper about as a heifer at grass, And bellow like bulls.

12. तुम्हारी माता अत्यन्त लज्जित होगी और तुम्हारी जननी का मुंह काला होगा। क्योंकि वह सब जातियों में नीच होगी, वह जंगल और मरू और निर्जल देश हो जाएगी।

12. Your mother, hath turned very pale, She that bare you, hath turned red, Lo! the last of nations, is A desert, A parched land, and A waste plain,

13. यहोवा के क्रोध के कारण, वह देश निर्जन रहेगा, वह उजाड़ ही उजाड़ होगा; जो कोई बाबुल के पास से चलेगा वह चकित होगा, और उसके सब दु:ख देखकर ताली बजाएगा।

13. Because of the vexation of Yahweh, she shall not be inhabited, But Shall become a complete desolation, Every one passing by Babylon, shall be astonished and hiss, over all her plagues.

14. हे सब धनुर्धारियो, बाबुल के चारों ओर उसके विरूद्व पांति बान्धो; उस पर तीर चलाओ, उन्हें मत रख छोड़ो, क्योंकि उस ने यहोवा के विरूद्व पाप किया है।

14. Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about All ye who tread the bow, Shoot at her, do not spare so much as an arrow, For against Yahweh, hath she sinned.

15. चारों ओर से उस पर ललकारो, उस ने हार मानी; उसके कोट गिराए गए, उसकी शहरपनाह ढाई गई। क्ययोंकि यहोवा उस से अपना बदला लेने पर है; सो तुम भी उस से अपना अपना बदला लो, जैसा उस ने किया है, वैसा ही तुम भी उस से करो।

15. Raise a shout against her round about She hath stretched forth her hand, Fallen are her buttresses, Torn down are her walls, Because, the avenging of Yahweh it is, Take ye vengeance upon her, As she hath done, do ye, unto her.

16. बाबुल में से बोनेवाले और काटनेवाले दोनों को नाश करो, वे दुखदाई तलवार के डर के मारे अपने अपने लोगों को ओर फिरें, और अपने अपने देश की भाग जाएं।

16. Cut ye off the sower from Babylon, And him that graspeth the sickle in the time of harvest, From the face of the sword of the oppressor, Each, to his own people will they turn, and Each, to his own land will they flee.

17. इस्राएल भगाई हुई भेड़ है, सिंहों ने उसको भगा दिया है। पहिले तो अश्शूर के राजा ने उसको खा डाला, और तब बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर ने उसकी हडि्डयों को तोड़ दिया है।

17. A sheep all alone, is Israel Lions, have driven him away, At the first, the king of Assyria devoured him, And here, at the last, I Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones!

18. इस कारण इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, देखो, जैसे मैं ने अश्शूर के राजा को दण्ड दिया था, वैसे ही अब देश समेत बाबुल के राजा को दण्ड दूंगा।

18. Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Behold me! bringing punishment against the king of Babylon, and against his land, Just as I brought punishment against the king of Assyria.

19. मैं इस्राएल को उसकी चराई में लौटा लाऊंगा, और वह कमल और बाशान में फिर चरेगा, और एप्रैम के पहाड़ों पर और गिलाद में फिर भर पेट खाने पाएगा।

19. So will I bring back Israel unto his own pasture, And he shall feed upon Carmel and Bashan; And in the hill country of Ephraim and Gilead, shall, his soul, he satisfied.

20. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि उन दिनों में इस्राएल का अधर्म ढूंढ़ने पर भी नहीं मिलेगा, और यहूदा के पाप खोजने पर भी नहीं मिलेंगे; क्योंकि जिन्हें मैं बचाऊं, उनके पाप भी क्षमा कर दूंगा।

20. In those days and in that time, Declareth Yahweh, The iniquity of Israel, shall be sought, and there shall be none, And the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found; For I will grant pardon to them whom I suffer to remain.

21. तू मरातैम देश और पकोद नगर के निवासियों पर चढ़ाई कर। मनुष्यों को तो मार डाल, और धन का सत्यानाश कर; यहोवा की यह वाणी है, और जो जो आज्ञा मैं तुझे देता हूँ, उन सभों के अनुसार कर।

21. Against the land of Merathaim, go thou up against her, And against the inhabitants of Pekod, Lay waste and devote to destruction after them Declareth Yahweh, And do according to all which I have commanded thee.

22. सुनो, उस देश में युद्व और सत्यानाश का सा शब्द हो रहा है।

22. The sound of battle is in the earth, And a great destruction.

23. जो हथौड़ा सारी पृथ्वी के लोगों को चूर चूर करता था, वह कैसा काट डाला गया है ! बाबुल सब जातियों के बीच में कैसा उजाड़ हो गया है!

23. How s cut and broken the hammer of all the earth! How hath Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!

24. हे बाबुल, मैं ने तेरे लिये फन्दा लगाया, और तू अनजाने उस में फँस भी गया; तू ढूंढ़कर पकड़ा गया है, क्योंकि तू यहोवा का विरोध करता था।

24. I laid a snare for thee yea and thou wast captured O Babylon, when, thou wast not aware, Thou wast found out yea and taken, For with Yahweh, hadst thou contended.

25. प्रभु, सेनाओं के यहोवा ने अपने शस्त्रों का घर खोलकर, अपने क्रोध प्रगट करने का सामान निकाला है; क्योंकि सेनाओं के प्रभु यहोवा को कसदियों के देश में एक काम करना है।
रोमियों 9:22

25. Yahweh opened his armoury, and brought out his weapons of indignation, For, a work, it is pertaining to My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, in the land of the Chaldeans,

26. पृथ्वी की छोर से आओ, और उसकी बखरियों को खोलो; उसको ढेर ही ढेर बना दो; ऐसा सत्यानाश करो कि उस में कुछ भी न बचा रहें।

26. Come ye against her from farthest parts, Throw open her granaries, Cast her up as heaps, and devote her to destruction, Do not let her have a remnant.

27. उसके सब बैलों को नाश करो, वे घात होने के स्थान में उतर जाएं। उन पर हाय ! क्योंकि उनके दण्ड पाने का दिन आ पहुंचा है।

27. Cut up all her bullocks, Let them go down to the slaughter, Alas for them! For their day, hath come, Their time for punishment.

28. सुनो, बाबुल के देश में से भागनेवालों का सा बोल सुनाई पड़ता है जो सिरयोन में यह समाचार देने को दौड़े आते हैं, कि हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा अपने मन्दिर का बदला ले रहा है।

28. The voice Of them who are in flight and Of such as are escaping, out of the land of Babylon, To tell in Zion The avenging of Yahweh our God, The avenging of his temple.

29. सब धनुर्धारियों को बाबुल के विरूद्व इकट्ठे करो, उसके चारों ओर छावनी डालो, कोई जन भागकर निकलने न पाए। उसके काम का बदला उसे देओ, जैसा उस ने किया है, ठीक वैसा ही उसके साथ करो; क्योंकि उस ने यहोवा इस्राएल के पवित्रा के विरूद्व अभिमान किया है।

29. Publish against Babylon ye chiefs of all who tread the bow Encamp against her round about Let there be none to escape, Recompense to her according to her work, According to all which she did, do ye to her, For Against Yahweh, hath she acted presumptuously, Against the Holy One of Israel.

30. इस कारण उसके जवान चौकों में गिराए जाएंगे, और सब योद्वाओं का बोल बन्द हो जाएगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

30. Therefore, shall her young men fall in her broadways, And, all her men of war, be silenced in that day, Declareth Yahweh.

31. प्रभु सेनाओं के यहोवा की यह वाणी है, हे अभिमानी, मैं तेरे विरूद्व हूँ; तेरे दण्ड पाने का दिन आ गया है।

31. Behold me! against thee most insolent one, Declareth My Lord Yahweh of hosts; For thy day, hath come, Thy time for punishment;

32. अभिमानी ठोकर खाकर गिरेगा ओर कोई उसे फिर न उठाएगा; और मैं उसके नगरों में आग लगाऊंगा जिस से उसके चारों ओर सब कुछ भस्म हो जाएगा।

32. So shall the most insolent one stumble and fall, And he shall have none to lift him up, And I will kindle a fire in his cities which shall devour all who are round about him.

33. सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, इस्राएल और यहूदा दोनों बराबर पिसे हुए हैं; और जितनों ने उनको बंधुआ किया वे उन्हें पकड़े रहते हैं, और जाने नहीं देते।

33. Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts Oppressed were the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah, together, And, all who took them captive, Held them fast Refused to let them go:

34. उनका छुड़ानेवाला सामथ है; सेनाओं का यहोवा, यही उसका नाम हे। वह उनका मुक़ मा भली भांति लड़ेगा कि पृथ्वी को चैन दे परन्तु बाबुल के निवासियों को व्याकुल करे।
प्रकाशितवाक्य 18:8

34. Their Redeemer, can hold fast, Yahweh of hosts, is his name, He will, thoroughly plead, their plea, That he may quiet the earth, And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कसदियों और बाबुल के हाकिम, पण्डित आदि सब निवासियों पर तलवार चलेगी !

35. A sword, is over the Chaldeans, Declareth Yahweh, And against the inhabitants of Babylon, And against her princes, And against her wise men:

36. बड़ा बोल बोलनेवालों पर तलवार चलेगी, और वे मूर्ख बनेंगे ! उसके शूरवीरों पर भी तलवार चलेगी, और वे विस्मित हो जाएंगे !

36. A sword, is against the praters, And they shall be shewn to be foolish, A sword, is against her heroes And they shall be dismayed:

37. उसके सवारों और रथियों पर और सब मिले जुले लोगों पर भी तलवार चलेगी, और वे स्त्रियें बन जाएंगे ! उसके भण्ड़ारों पर तलवार चलेगी, और वे लुट जाएंगे !

37. A sword, is against his hopes and against his chariots and, against all the rabble that are in her midst And they shall become women, A sword, is against her treasures And they shall be made a prey:

38. उसके जलाशयों पर सूखा पड़ेगा, और वे सूख जाएंगे ! क्योंकि वह खुदी हुई मूरतों से भरा हुआ देश है, और वे अपनी भयानक प्रतिमाओं पर बावले हैं।

38. A drought, is against her waters, And they shall be dried up, For a land of images, it is, And with their shocking things, they act as men who are mad:

39. इसलिये निर्जल देश के जन्तु सियारों के संग मिलकर वहां बसेंगे, और शुतुर्मुर्ग उस में वास करेंगे, और वह फिर सदा तक बसाया न जाएगा, न युग युग उस में कोई वास कर सकेगा।

39. Therefore shall the criers dwell with, the howlers, Yea ostriches, shall dwell therein, So shall it be dwelt in no more for ever, Neither shall it be inhabited unto generation after generation.

40. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि सदोम और अमोरा और उनके आस पास के नगरों की जैसी दशा उस समय हुई थी जब परमेश्वरने उनको उलट दिया था, वैसी ही दशा बाबुल की भी होगी, यहां तक कि कोई मनुष्य उस में न रह सकेगा, और न कोई आदमी उस में टिकेगा।

40. Like the divine overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and her neighbours, Declareth Yahweh, There shall not dwell there a man, Nor sojourn therein a son of the earth-born.

41. सुनो, उत्तर दिशा से एक देश के लोग आते हैं, और पृथ्वी की छोर से एक बड़ी जाति और बहुत से राजा उठकर चढ़ाई करेंगे।

41. Lo! a people coming in from the North, Yea, a great nation and many kings, shall be round up out of the remote parts of the earth:

42. वे धनुष और बछ पकड़े हुए हैं; वे क्रूर और निर्दय हैं; वे समुद्र की नाई गरजेंगे; और घोड़ों पर चढ़े हुए तुझ बाबुल की बेटी के विरूद्व पांति बान्धे हुए युद्वा करनेवालों की नाई आएंगे।

42. Bow and javelin, shall they grasp, Cruel, are they and will not have compassion, Their voice, like the sea, will roar, And, on horses, will they ride, Set in array, as one man for battle, Against thee, O daughter of Babylon!

43. उनका समाचार सुनते ही बाबुल के राजा के हाथ पांव ढीले पड़ गए, और उसको ज़च्चा की सी पीड़ें उठीं।

43. The king of Babylon hath beard the report of them, And unnerved are his hands, Anguish, hath seized him, Writhing pain, as a woman in child-birth.

44. सुनो, वह सिंह की नाई आएगा जो यरदन के आस पास के घने जंगल से निकलकर दृढ़ भेड़शाले पर चढ़े, परन्तु मैं उनको उसके साम्हने से झट भगा दूंगा; तब जिसको मैं चुन लूं, उसी को उन पर अधिकारी ठहराऊंगा। देखो, मेरे तुल्य कौन हे? कौन मुझ पर मुक़ मा चलाएगा? वह चरवाहा कहां है जो मेरा साम्हना कर सकेगा?

44. Lo! as a lion, shall he come up from the majesty of the Jordan, Unto the pasture perennial, But I will wink I will make them run away therefrom, Who then shall be the Chosen One whom against it, I may set in charge? For who shall be like unto, me? And who shall appoint me, a time? And who is the Shepherd that shall stand before me?

45. सो सुनो कि यहोवा ने बाबुल के विरूद्व क्या युक्ति की है और कसदियों के देश के विरूद्व कौन सी कल्पना की हैे निश्चय वह भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों को घसीट ले जाएगा, निश्चय वह उनकी चराइयों को भेड़- बकरियों से खाली कर देगा।

45. Therefore hear ye, The counsel of Yahweh, which he hath counselled against Babylon, And his devices which he hath devised against the land a of the Chaldeans, Surely the little ones of the flock, shall drag them away, Surely he will cause the pasture to be astounded over them.

46. बाबुल के लूट लिए जाने के शब्द से पृथ्वी कांप उठी है, और उसकी चिल्लाहट जातियों में सुनाई पड़ती है।

46. At the noise of the taking of Babylon, the earth trembled, And, the outcry, among the nations, was heard.
