1. मोआब के विषय इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता हैे नबू पर हाय, क्योंकि वह नाश हो गया ! किर्यातैम की आशा टूट गई, वह ले लिया गया है; ऊंचा गढ़ निराश और विस्मित हो गया है।

1. The Message on Moab from GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel: 'Doom to Nebo! Leveled to the ground! Kiriathaim demeaned and defeated, The mighty fortress reduced to a molehill,

2. मोआब की प्रशंसा जाती रही। हेशबोन में उसकी हानि की कल्पना की गई हैे आओ, हम उसको ऐसा नाश करें कि वह राज्य न रह जाए। हे मदमेन, तू भी सुनसान हो जाएगा; तलवार तेरे पीछे पड़ेगी।

2. Moab's glory--dust and ashes. Conspirators plot Heshbon's doom: 'Come, let's wipe Moab off the map.' Dungface Dimon will loudly lament, as killing follows killing.

3. होरोनैम से चिल्लाहट का शब्द सुनो ! नाश और बड़े देख का शब्द सुनाई देता है !

4. मोआब का सत्यानाश हो रहा है; उसके नन्हे बच्चों की चिल्लाहट सुन पड़ी।

6. भागो ! अपना अपना प्राण बचाओ ! उस अधमूए पेड़ के समान हो जाओ जंगल में होता है !

6. Oh, run for your lives! Get out while you can! Survive by your wits in the wild!

7. क्योंकि तू जो अपने कामों और सम्पत्ति पर भरोसा रखता है, इस कारण तू भी पकड़ा जाएगा; और कमोश देवता भी अपने याजकों और हाकिमों समेत बंधुआई में जाएगा।

7. You trusted in thick walls and big money, yes? But it won't help you now. Your big god Chemosh will be hauled off, his priests and managers with him.

8. यहोवा के वचन के अनुसार नाश करनेवाले तुम्हारे हर एक नगर पर चढ़ाई करेंगे, और कोई नगर न बचेगा; नीचानवाले और पहाड़ पर की चौरस भूमिवाले दोनों नाश किए जाएंगे।

8. A wrecker will wreck every city. Not a city will survive. The valley fields will be ruined, the plateau pastures destroyed, just as I told you.

9. मोआब के पंख लगा दो ताकि वह उड़कर दूर हो जए; क्योंकि उसके नगर ऐसे उजाड़ हो जाएंगे कि उन में कोई भी न बसने पाएगा।

9. Cover the land of Moab with salt. Make sure nothing ever grows here again. Her towns will all be ghost towns. Nobody will ever live here again.

10. शापित है वह जो यहोवा का काम आलस्य से करता है; और वह भी जो अपनी तलवार लोहू बहाने से रोक रखता है।

10. Sloppy work in GOD's name is cursed, and cursed all halfhearted use of the sword.

11. मोआब बचपन ही से सुखी है, उसके नीचे तलछट है, वह एक बरतन से दूसरे बरतन में उण्डेला नहीं गया और न बंधुआई में गया; इसलिये उसका स्वाद उस में स्थिर है, और उसकी गन्ध ज्यों की त्यों बनी रहती है।

11. 'Moab has always taken it easy-- lazy as a dog in the sun, Never had to work for a living, never faced any trouble, Never had to grow up, never once worked up a sweat.

12. इस कारण यहोवा की यह वाणी है, ऐसे दिन आएंगे, कि मैं लोगों को उसके उण्डेलने के लिये भेजूंगा, और वे उसको उण्डेलेंगे, और जिन घड़ों में वह रखा हुआ है, उनको छूछे करके फोड़ डालेंगे।

12. But those days are a thing of the past. I'll put him to work at hard labor. That will wake him up to the world of hard knocks. That will smash his illusions.

13. तब जैसे इस्राएल के घराने को बेतेल से लज्जित होना पड़ा, जिस पर वे भरोसा रखते थे, वैसे ही मोआबी लोग कमोश से लज्जित हांगे।

13. Moab will be as ashamed of god Chemosh as Israel was ashamed of her Bethel calf-gods, the calf-gods she thought were so great.

14. तुम कैसे कह सकते हो कि हम वीर और पराक्रमी योद्वा हैं?

14. For how long do you think you'll be saying, 'We're tough. We can beat anyone anywhere'?

15. मोआब तो नाश हुआ, उसके नगर भस्म हो गए और उसके चुने हुए जवान घात होने को उतर गए, राजाधिराज, जिसका नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है, उसकी यही वाणी है।

15. The destruction of Moab has already begun. Her choice young soldiers are lying dead right now.' The King's Decree-- his full name, GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies.

16. मोआब की विपत्ति निकट आ गई, और उसके संकट में पड़ने का दिन बहुत ही वेग से आता है।

16. 'Yes. Moab's doom is on countdown, disaster targeted and launched.

17. उसके आस पास के सब रहनेवालो, और उसकी कीर्त्ति के सब जाननेवालो, उसके लिये विलाप करो; कहो हाय ! यह मजबूत सोंटा और सुन्दर छड़ी कैसे टूट गई है?

17. Weep for Moab, friends and neighbors, all who know how famous he's been. Lament, 'His mighty scepter snapped in two like a toothpick, that magnificent royal staff!'

18. हे दीबोन की रहनेवाली तू अपना विभव छोड़कर प्यासी बैठी रह ! क्योंकि मोआब के नाश करनेवाले ने तुझ पर चढ़ाई करके तेरे दृढ़ गढ़ों को नाश किया है।

18. 'Come down from your high horse, pampered beauty of Dibon. Sit in dog dung. The destroyer of Moab will come against you. He'll wreck your safe, secure houses.

19. हे अरोएर की रहनेवाली तू मार्ग में खड़ी होकर ताकती रह ! जो भागता है उस से, और जो बच निकलती है उस से पूछ, कि, क्या हुआ है?

19. Stand on the roadside, pampered women of Aroer. Interview the refugees who are running away. Ask them, 'What's happened? And why?'

20. मोआब की आशा टूटेगी, वह विस्मित हो गया; तुम हाय हाय करो और चिल्लाओ; अन न में भी यह बताओ कि मोआब नाश हुआ है।

20. Moab will be an embarrassing memory, nothing left of the place. Wail and weep your eyes out! Tell the bad news along the Arnon river. Tell the world that Moab is no more.

21. चौरस भूमि के देश में होलोन,

21. 'My judgment will come to the plateau cities: on Holon, Jahzah, and Mephaath;

22. यहसा, मेपात, दीबोन, नबो, बेतदिबलातैम,

22. on Dibon, Nebo, and Beth-diblathaim;

23. और किरर्यातैम, बेतगामूल, बेतमोन,

23. on Kiriathaim, Beth-gamul, and Beth-meon;

24. और करिरयोत, बोस्रा, और क्या दूर क्या निकट, मोआब देश के सारे नगरों में दण्ड की आज्ञा पूरी हुई है।

24. on Kerioth, Bozrah, and all the cities of Moab, far and near.

25. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, मोआब का सींग कट गया, और भुजा टूट गई है।

25. 'Moab's link to power is severed. Moab's arm is broken.' GOD's Decree.

26. उसको मतवाल करो, क्योंकि उस ने यहोवा के विरूद्व बड़ाई मारी है; इसलिये मोआब अपनी छांट में लोटेगा, और ठट्ठों में उड़ाया जाएगा।

26. 'Turn Moab into a drunken sot, drunk on the wine of my wrath, a dung-faced drunk, filling the country with vomit--Moab a falling-down drunk, a joke in bad taste.

27. क्या तू ने भी इस्राएल को ठट्ठों में नहीं उड़ाय? क्या वह चोरों के बीच पाड़ा गया था कि जब तू उसकी चर्चा करता तब तू सिर हिलाता था?

27. Wasn't it you, Moab, who made crude jokes over Israel? And when they were caught in bad company, didn't you cluck and gossip and snicker?

28. हे मोआब के रहनेवालो अपने अपने नगर को छोड़कर ढांग की दरार में बसो ! उस पएडुकी के समान हो जो गुफा के मुंह की एक ओर घोंसला बनाती हो।

28. 'Leave town! Leave! Look for a home in the cliffs, you who grew up in Moab. Try living like a dove who nests high in the river gorge.

29. हम ने मोआब के गर्व के विषय में सुना है कि वह अत्यन्त अभिमानी है; उसका गर्व, अभिमान और अहंकार, और उसका मन फूलना प्रसिद्व है।

29. 'We've all heard of Moab's pride, that legendary pride, The strutting, bullying, puffed-up pride, the insufferable arrogance.

30. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, मैं उसके रोष को भी जानता हूँ कि वह व्यर्थ ही है, उसके बड़े बोल से कुछ बन न पड़ा।

30. I know'--GOD's Decree--'his rooster-crowing pride, the inflated claims, the sheer nothingness of Moab.

31. इस कारण मैं मोआबियों के लिये हाय- हाय करूंगा; हां मैं सारे मोआबियों के लिये चिल्लाऊंगा; कीहरेस के लोगों के लिये विलाप किया जाएगा।

31. But I will weep for Moab, yes, I will mourn for the people of Moab. I will even mourn for the people of Kir-heres.

32. हे सिबमा की दाखलता, मैं तुम्हारे लिये याजेर से भी अधिक विलाप करूंगा ! तेरी डालियां तो ताल के पार बढ़ गई, वरन याजेर के ताल तक भी पहुंची थीं; पर नाश करनेवाला तेरे धूपकाल के फलों पर, और तोड़ी हुई दाखों पर भी टूट पड़ा है।

32. I'll weep for the grapevines of Sibmah and join Jazer in her weeping-- Grapevines that once reached the Dead Sea with tendrils as far as Jazer. Your summer fruit and your bursting grapes will be looted by brutal plunderers,

33. फलवाली बारियों से और मोआब के देश से आनन्द और मगन होना उठ गया है; मैं ने ऐसा किया कि दाखरस के कुण्डों में कुछ दाखमधु न रहा; लोग फिर ललकारते हुए दाख न रौंदेंगे; जो ललकार होनेवाली है, वह अब नहीं होगी।

33. Lush Moab stripped of song and laughter. And yes, I'll shut down the winepresses, stop all the shouts and hurrahs of harvest.

34. हेशबोन की चिल्लाहट सुनकर लोग एलाले और यहस तक, और सोआर से होरोनैम और एग्लतशलीशिया तक भी चिल्लाते हुए भागे चले गए हैं। क्योंकि निम्रीम का जल भी सूख गया है।

34. 'Heshbon and Elealeh will cry out, and the people in Jahaz will hear the cries. They will hear them all the way from Zoar to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah. Even the waters of Nimrim will be dried up.

35. और यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि मैं ऊंचे स्थान पर चढ़ावा चढ़ाना, और देवताओं के लिये धूप जलाना, दोनों को मोआब में बन्द कर दूंगा।

35. 'I will put a stop in Moab'--GOD's Decree--'to all hiking to the high places to offer burnt sacrifices to the gods.

36. इस कारण मेरा मन मोआब और कीहरेस के लोगों के लिये बांसुली सा रो रोकर आलापता है, क्योंकि जो कुछ उन्हों ने कमाकर बचाया है, वह नाश हो गया है।

36. 'My heart moans for Moab, for the men of Kir-heres, like soft flute sounds carried by the wind. They've lost it all. They've got nothing.

37. क्योंकि सब के सिर मुंड़े गए और सब की दाढ़ियां नोची गई; सब के हाथ चीरे हुए, और सब की कमरों में टाट बन्धा हुआ है।

37. 'Everywhere you look are signs of mourning: heads shaved, beards cut, Hands scratched and bleeding, clothes ripped and torn.

38. मोआब के सब घरों की छतों पर और सब चौंकों में रोना पीटना हो रहा है; क्योंकि मैं ने मोआब को तुच्छ बरतन की नाई तोड़ डाला है यहोवा की यह वाणी है।

38. 'In every house in Moab there'll be loud lamentation, on every street in Moab, loud lamentation. As with a pottery jug that no one wants, I'll smash Moab to bits.' GOD's Decree.

39. मोआब कैसे विस्मित हो गया ! हाय, हाय, करो ! क्योंकि उस ने कैसे लज्जित होकर पीठ फेरी है ! इस प्रकार मोआब के चारों ओर के सब रहनेवाले उसका ठट्ठा करेंगे और विस्मित हो जाएंगे।

39. 'Moab ruined! Moab shamed and ashamed to be seen! Moab a cruel joke! The stark horror of Moab!'

40. क्योंकि यहोवा यों कहता है, देखो, वह उकाब सा उड़ेगा और मोआब के ऊपर अपने पंख फैलाएगा।

40. GOD's verdict on Moab. Indeed! 'Look! An eagle is about to swoop down and spread its wings over Moab.

41. करिरयोत ले लिया गया, और गढ़वाले नगर दूसरों के वश में पड़ गए। उस दिन मोआबी वीरों के मन जच्चा स्.त्री के से हो जाएंगे;

41. The towns will be captured, the fortresses taken. Brave warriors will double up in pain, helpless to fight, like a woman giving birth to a baby.

42. और मोआब ऐसा तितर- बितर हो जाएगा कि उसका दल टूट जाएगा, क्योंकि उस ने यहोवा के विरूद्व बड़ाई मारी है।

42. There'll be nothing left of Moab, nothing at all, because of his defiant arrogance against me.

43. यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि हे मोआब के रहनेवाले, तेरे लिये भय और गड़हा और फन्दे ठहराए गए हैं।

43. 'Terror and pit and trap are what you have facing you, Moab.' GOD's Decree.

44. जो कोई भय से भागे वह गड़हे में गिरेगा, और जो कोई गड़हे में से निकले, वह फन्दे में फंसेगा। क्योंकि मैं मोआब के रण्ड का दिन उस पर ले आऊंगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

44. 'A man running in terror will fall into a trap. A man climbing out of a pit will be caught in a trap. This is my agenda for Moab on doomsday.' GOD's Decree.

45. जो भागे हुए हैं वह हेशबोन में शरण लेकर खड़े हो गए हैं; परन्तु हेशबोन से आग और सीहोन के बीच से लौ निकली, जिस से मोआब देश के कोने और बलवैयों के चोण्डे भस्म हो गए हैं।

45. 'On the outskirts of Heshbon, refugees will pull up short, worn out. Fire will flame high from Heshbon, a firestorm raging from the capital of Sihon's kingdom. It will burn off Moab's eyebrows, will scorch the skull of the braggarts.

46. हे मोआब तुझ पर हाय ! कमोश की प्रजा नाश हो गई; क्योंकि तेरे स्त्री- पुरूष दोनों बंधुआई में गए हैं।

46. That's all for you, Moab! You worshipers of Chemosh will be finished off! Your sons will be trucked off to prison camps; your daughters will be herded into exile.

47. तौभी यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि अन्त के दिनों में मैं मोआब को बंधुआई से लौटा ले आऊंगा। मोआब के दण्ड का वचन यहीं तक हुआ।

47. But yet there's a day that's coming when I'll put things right in Moab. 'For now, that's the judgment on Moab.'
