1. उन दिनों में मैं सारे इस्राएली कुलों का परमेश्वर ठहरूंगा और वे मेरी प्रजा ठहरेंगे, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

1. At the same time, saith the LORD, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

2. यहोवा यों कहता हैे जो प्रजा तलवार से बच निकली, उन पर जंगल में अनुग्रह हुआ; मैं इस्राएल को विश्राम देने के लिये तैयार हुआ।

2. Thus saith the LORD, The people {who were} left by the sword found grace in the wilderness; {even} Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

3. यहोवा ने मुझे दूर से दर्शन देकर कहा है। मैं तुझ से सदा प्रेम रखता आया हूँ; इस कारण मैं ने तुझ पर अपनी करूणा बनाए रखी है।

3. The LORD appeared of old to me, {saying}, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.

4. हे इस्राएली कुमारी कन्या ! मैं तुझे फिर बसाऊंगा; वहां तू फिर सिंगार करके डफ बजाने लगेगी, और आनन्द करनेवालों के बीच में नाचती हुई निकलेगी।

4. Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel; thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

5. तू शोमरोन के पहाड़ों पर अंगूर की बारियं फिर लगाएगी; और जो उन्हें लगाएंगे, वे उनके फल भी खाने पाएंगे।

5. Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat {them} as common things.

6. क्योंकि ऐसा दिन आएगा, जिस में एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश के पहरूए पुकारेंगेे उठो, हम अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के पास सिरयोन को चलें।

6. For there shall be a day, {that} the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion to the LORD our God.

7. क्योंकि यहोवा यों कहता हैे याकूब के कारण आनन्द से जयजयकार करो जातियों में जो श्रेष्ठ है उसके लिये ऊंचे शबद से स्तुति करो, और कहो, हे यहोवा, अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल के बचे हुए लोगों का भी उठ्ठार कर।

7. For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.

8. देखो, मैं उनको उत्तर देश से ले आऊंगा, और पृथ्वी के कोने कोने से इकट्ठे करूंगा, और उनके बीच अन्धे, लंगड़े, गर्भवती, और जच्चा स्त्रियां भी आएंगी; एक बड़ी मण्डली यहां लौट आएगी।

8. Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the borders of the earth, {and} with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

9. वे आंसू बहाते हुए आएंगे और गिड़गिड़ाते हुए मेरे द्वारा पहुंचाए जाएंगे, मैं उन्हें नदियों के किनारे किनारे से और ऐसे चौरस मार्ग से ले आऊंगा, जिस से वे ठोकर न खाने पाएंगे; क्योंकि मैं इस्राएल का पिता हूँ, और एप्रैम मेरा जेठा है।

9. They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim {is} my first-born.

10. हे जाति जाति के लोगो, यहोवा का वचन सुनो, और दूर दूर के द्वीपों में भी इसका प्रचार करो; कहो, कि जिस ने इस्राएलियों को तितर- बितर किया था, वही उन्हें इकट्ठे भी करेगा, और उनकी ऐसी रक्षा करेगा जैसी चरवाहा अपने झुण्ड की करता है।

10. Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare {it} in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd {doth} his flock.

11. क्योंकि यहोवा ने याकूब को छुड़ा लिया, और उस शत्रु के पंजे से जो उस से अधिक बलवन्त है, उसे छुटकारा दिया है।

11. For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of {him that was} stronger than he.

12. इसलिये वे सिरयोन की चोटी पर आकर जयजयकार करेंगे, और यहोवा से अनाज, नया दाखमधु, टटका तेल, भेड़- बकरियां और गाय- बैलों के बच्चे आदि उत्तम उत्तम दान पाने के लिये तांता बान्धकर चलेंगे; और उनका प्राण सींची हुई बारी के समान होगा, और वे फिर कभी उदास न होंगे।

12. Therefore they shall come and sing in the hight of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

13. उस समय उनकी कुमारियां नाचती हुई हर्ष करेंगी, और जवान और बूढ़े एक संग आनन्द करेंगे। क्योंकि मैं उनके शोक को दूर करके उन्हें आनन्दित करूंगा, मैं उन्हें शान्ति दूंगा, और दु:ख के बदले आनन्द दूंगा।

13. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

14. मैं याजकों को चिकनी वस्तुओं से अति तृप्त करूंगा, और मेरी प्रजा मेरे उत्तम दानों से सन्तुष्ट होगी, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

14. And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

15. यहोवा यह भी कहता हैे सुन, रामा नगर में विलाप और बिलक बिलककर रोने का शब्द सुनने में आता है। राहेल अपने लड़कों के लिये रो रही है; और अपने लड़कों के कारण शान्त नहीं होती, क्योंकि वे जाते रहे।

15. Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, {and} bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they {were} not.

16. यहोवा यों कहता हेे रोने- पीटने और आंसू बहाने से रूक जा; क्योंकि तेरे परिश्रम का फल मिलनेवाला है, और वे शत्रुुओं के देश से लौट आएंगे।

16. Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thy eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

17. अन्त में तेरी आशा पूरी होगी, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, तेरे वंश के लोग अपने देश में लौट आएंगे।

17. And there is hope in thy end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

18. निश्चय मैं ने एप्रैम को ये बातें कहकर विलाप करते सुना है कि तू ने मेरी ताड़ना की, और मेरी ताड़ना ऐसे बछड़े की सी हुई जो निकाला न गया हो; परन्तु अब तू मुझे फेर, तब मैं फिरूंगा, क्योंकि तू मेरा परमेश्वर है।

18. I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself {thus}; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed {to the yoke}: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou {art} the LORD my God.

19. भटक जाने के बाद मैं पछतायो और सिखाए जाने के बाद मैं ने छाती पीटीे पुराने पापों को स्मसण कर मैं लज्जित हुआ और मेरा मुंह काला हो गया।

19. Surely after I was turned, I repented; and after I was instructed, I smote upon {my} thigh: I was ashamed, and even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.

20.

20. {Is} Ephraim my dear son? {is he} a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

21. क्या एप्रैम मेरा प्रिय पुत्रा नहीं है? क्या वह मेरा दुलारा लड़का नहीं है? जब जब मैं उसके विरूद्ध बातें करता हूं, तब तब मुझे उसका स्मरण हो आता है। इसलिये मेरा मन उसके कारण भर आता है; और मैं निश्चय उस पर दया करूंगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

21. Set thee up way-marks, make thee high heaps: set thy heart towards the highway, {even} the way {which} thou wentest; turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.

22. हे इस्राएली कुमारी, जिस राजमार्ग से तू गई थी, उसी में खम्भे और झण्डे खड़े कर; और अपने इन नगरों में लौट आने पर मन लगा।

22. How long wilt thou wander about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

23. हे भटकनेवाली कन्या, तू कब तक इधर उधर फिरती रहेगी? यहोवा की एक नई सृष्टि पृथ्वी पर प्रगट होगी, अर्थात् नारी पुरूष की सहायता करेगी।

23. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in her cities, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, mountain of holiness.

24. इस्राएल का परमेश्वर सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता हैे जब मैं यहूदी बंधुओं को उनके देश के नगरों में लौटाऊंगा, तब उन में यह आशीर्वाद फिर दिया जाएगो हे धर्मभरे वासस्थान, हे पवित्रा पर्वत, यहोवा तुझे आशीष दे !

24. And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all her cities together, husbandmen, and they {that} go forth with flocks.

25. और यहूदा और उसके सब नगरों के लोग और किसान और चरवाहे भी उस में इकट्टे बसेंगे।

25. For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

26. क्योंकि मैं ने थके हुए लोगों का प्राण तृप्त किया, और उदास लोगों के प्राण को भर दिया है।

26. Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet to me.

27. इस पर मैं जाग उठा, और देखा, ओर मेरी नीन्द मुझे मीठी लगी।

27. Behold, the days come saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.

28. देख, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि ऐसे दिन आनेवाले हैं जिन में मैं इस्राएल और यहूदा के घरानों के लड़केबाले और पशु दोनों को बहुत बढ़ाऊंगा।

28. And it shall come to pass, {that} as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build and to plant, saith the LORD.

29. और जिस प्रकार से मैं सोच सोचकर उनको गिराता और ढाता, नष्ट करता, काट डालता और सत्यानाश ही करता था, उसी प्रकार से मैं अब सोच सोचकर उनको रोपूंगा और बढ़ाऊंगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

29. In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.

30. उन दिनों में वे फिर न कहेंगे कि पुरखा लोगों ने तो जंगली दाख खाई, परन्तु उनके वंश के दांत खट्टे हो गए हैं।

30. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

31. क्योंकि जो कोई जंगली दाख खाए उसी के दांत खट्टे हो जाएंगे, और हर एक मनुष्य अपने ही अधर्म के कारण मारा जाएगा।

31. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32. फिर यहोवा की यह भी वाणी है, सुन, ऐसे दिन आनेवाले हैं जब मैं इस्राएल और यहूदा के घरानों से नई वाचा बान्धूंगा।

32. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day {that} I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, saith the LORD:

33. वह उस वाचा के समान न होगी जो मैं ने उनके पुरखाओं से उस समय बान्धी थी जब मैं उनका हाथ पकड़कर उन्हें मिस्र देश से निकाल लाया, क्योंकि यद्यपि मैं उनका पति था, तौभी उन्हों ने मेरी वह वाचा तोड़ डाली।

33. But this {shall be} the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34. परन्तु जो वाचा मैं उन दिनों के बाद इस्राएल के घराने से बान्धूंगा, वह यह हैे मैं अपनी व्यवस्था उनके मन में समवाऊंगा, और उसे उनके हृदय पर लिखूंगा; और मैं उनका परमेश्वर ठहरूंगा, और वे मेरी प्रजा ठहरेंगे, यहोवा की यह वाणी है।

34. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

35. और तब उन्हें फिर एक दूसरे से यह न कहना पड़ेगा कि यहोवा को जानो, क्योंकि, यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि छोटे से लेकर बड़े तक, सब के सब मेरा ज्ञान रखेंगे; क्योंकि मैं उनका अधर्म क्षमा करूंगा, और उनका पाप फिर स्मरण न करूंगा।

35. Thus saith the LORD, who giveth the sun for a light by day, {and} the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divideth the sea when its waves roar; The LORD of hosts {is} his name:

36. जिसने दिन को प्रकाश देने के लिये सूर्य को और रात को प्रकाश देने के लिये चन्द्रमा और तारागण के नियम ठहराए हैं, जो समुद्र को उछालता और उसकी लहरों को गरजाता है, और जिसका नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है, वही यहोवा यों कहता हैे

36. If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, {then} the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

37. यदि ये नियम मेरे साम्हने से टल जाएं तब ही यह हो सकेगा कि इस्राएल का वंश मेरी दृष्टि में सदा के लिये एक जाति ठहरने की अपेक्षा मिट सकेगा।

37. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

38. यहोवा यों भी कहता है, यदि ऊपर से आकाश मापा जाए और नीचे से पुथ्वी की नेव खोद खोदकर पता लगाया जाए, तब ही मैं इस्राएल के सारे वंश को अनके सब पापों के कारण उन से हाथ उठाऊंगा।

38. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel to the gate of the corner.

39. देख, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, ऐसे दिन आ रहे हैं जिन में यह नगर हननेल के गुम्मट से लेकर कोने के फाटक तक यहोवा के लिये बनाया जाएगा।

39. And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

40. और मापने की रस्सी फिर आगे बढ़कर सीधी गारेब पहाड़ी तक, और वहां से घूमकर गोआ को पहुंचेगी।

40. And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook of Kidron, to the corner of the horse-gate towards the east, {shall be} holy to the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
