1. यहूदा का राजा आहाज जो योताम का पुत्रा और उज्जिरयाह का पोता था, उसके दिनों में आराम के राजा रसीन और इस्राएल के राजा रमल्याह के पुत्रा पेकह ने यरूशलेम से लड़ने के लिये चढ़ाई की, परन्तु युद्ध करके उन से कुछ बन न पड़ा

1. It happened in the time of Ahaz the son of Joatham, which was the son of Oziah, king of Juda: that Razin the king of Syria, and Phakeh the son of Romeliah, king of Israel: went up toward Jerusalem to besiege it, but wanne it not.

2. जब दाऊद के घराने को यह समाचार मिला कि अरामियों ने एप्रैमियों से सन्धि की है, तब उसका और प्रजा का भी मन ऐसा कांप उठा जैसे वन के वृक्ष वायु चलने से कांप जाते हैं।

2. Now when the house of David (that is Ahaz) heard word thereof, that Syria and Ephraim were confederate together: His heart quaked (yea and the hearts also of his people) like as a tree in the field, that is moved with the wind.

3. तब यहोवा ने यशायाह से कहा, अपने पुत्रा शार्याशूब को लेकर धोबियों के खेत की सड़क से ऊपरली पोखरे की नाली के सिरे पर आहाज से भेंट करने के लिये जा,

3. Then said GOD unto Esay: Go meet Ahaz, (thou, thy son Sear Jasub) at the head of the over pole, in the foot path by the fuller's ground,

4. और उस से कह, सावधान और शान्त हो; और उन दोनों धूंआं निकलती लुकटियों से अर्थात् रसीन और अरामियों के भड़के हुए कोप से, और रमल्याह के पुत्रा से मत डर, और न तेरा मन कच्चा हो।

4. and say unto him, take heed to thyself and be still, but fear not, neither be fainthearted, for these two tails: that is: for these two smoking firebrands, the wrath and furriousness of Rezin the Sirian and Romelies' son:

5. क्यांकि अरामियों और रमल्याह के पुत्रा समेत एप्रैमियों ने यह कहकर तेरे विरूद्ध बुरी युक्ति ठानी है कि आओ,

5. because that the king of Siria, Ephraim, and Romelies' son have wickedly conspired against thee,

6. हम यहूदा पर चढ़ाई करके उसको घबरा दें, और उसको अपने वश में लाकर ताबेल के पुत्रा को राजा नियुक्त कर दें।

6. saying: We will go down into Juda, vex them, and bring them under us, and set a king there, even the son of Tabeel.

7. इसलिये प्रभु यहोवा ने यह कहा है कि यह युक्ति न तो सफल होगी और न पूरी।

7. For thus sayeth the Lord GOD(LORDE God) there to; It shall not so go forth, neither come so to pass:

8. क्योंकि आराम का सिर दमिश्क, ओर दमिश्क का सिर रसीन है। फिर एप्रैम का सिर शोमरोन और शोमरोन का सिर रमल्याह का पुत्रा है।

8. For the head city of the Sirians is Damascus, but the head of Damascus is Razin. And after five and threscore year, shall Ephraim be no more a people.

9. पैंसठ वर्ष के भीतर एप्रैम का बल इतना टूट जाएगा कि वह जाति बनी न रहेगी। यदि तुम लोग इस बात की प्रतीति न करो; तो निश्चय तुम स्थिर न रहोगे।।

9. And the chief city of Ephraim is Samaria, but the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. And if ye believe not, there shall no promise be kept with you.

10. फिर यहोवा ने आहाज से कहा,

10. Moreover, GOD spake unto Ahaz, saying:

11. अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से कोई चिन्ह मांग; चाहे वह गहिरे स्थान का हो, वा ऊपर आसमान का हो।

11. require a token of the LORD thy God, whether it be toward the depth beneath or toward the height above.(Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God, from alow beneath, or from on high above.)

12. आहाज ने कहा, मैं नहीं मांगने का, और मैं यहोवा की परीक्षा नहीं करूंगा।

12. Then said Ahaz: I will require none, neither will I tempt the LORD.(But Ahaz answered I will not ask, neither will tempt the LORD.)

13. तब उस ने कहा, हे दाऊद के घराने सुनो! क्या तुम मनुष्यों को उकता देना छोटी बात समझकर अब मेरे परमेश्वर को भी उकता दोगे?

13. The Lord(LORDE) answered: Then hear to, ye of the house of David: Is it not enough for you, that ye be grievous unto men, but ye must grieve my God also?(Wherefore the LORD said: Hearken ye of the house of David: Is it so small a thing for you, to be grievous to men, but that ye should also be painful unto God?)

14. इस कारण प्रभु आप ही तुम को एक चिन्ह देगा। सुनो, एक कुमारी गर्भवती होगी और पुत्रा जनेगी, और उसका नाम इम्मानूएल रखेगी।

14. And therefore the Lord shall give you a token of himself: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel.(neverthelater yet the Lord, he will give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.)

15. और जब तक वह बुरे को त्यागना और भले को ग्रहण करना न जाने तब तक वह मक्खन और मधु खाएगा।

15. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know the evil, and choose the good.(He shall eat butter and honey, that he may have understanding to refuse the evil and to choose the good.)

16. क्योंकि उस से पहिले कि वह लड़का बुरे को त्यागना और भले को ग्रहण करना जाने, वह देश जिसके दोनों राजाओं से तू घबरा रहा है निर्जन हो जाएगा।

16. But or ever the child come to knowledge, to eschew the evil and chose the good: The land (that thou art so afraid for) shall be desolate of both her kings.

17. यहोवा तुझ पर, तेरी प्रजा पर और तेरे पिता के घराने पर ऐसे दिनों को ले आएगा कि जब से एप्रैम यहूदा से अलग हो गया, तब वे वैसे दिन कभी नहीं आए -- अर्थात् अश्शूर के राजा के दिन ।।

17. The LORD also shall send a time upon thee, upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, (such as never came since the time that Ephraim departed from Juda) thorow the king of the Assyrians.

18. उस समय यहोवा उन मक्खियों को जो मि की नदियों के सिरों पर रहती हैं, और उन मधुमक्खियों को जो अश्शूर देश में रहती हैं, सीटी बजाकर बुलाएगा।

18. For at the same time shall the LORD whistle for the flys that are about the water of Egypt, and for the Bees in the Assirian land.

19. और वे सब की सब आकर इस देश के पहाड़ी नालों में, और चट्टानों की दरारों में, और सब भटकटैयों और सब चराइयों पर बैठ जाएंगी।।

19. These shall come, and shall light all in the valleys, and in the vaults(vowtes) of stone, upon all green things, and in all corners.

20. उसी समय प्रभु महानद के पारवाले अश्शूर के राजारूपी भाड़े के छूरे से सिर और पांवों के रोंएं मूंड़ेगा, उस से दाढ़ी भी पूरी मुंड़ जाएगी।।

20. At the same time shall the Lord(LORDE) shave the hair of the head and the feet and the beard clean off, with the razor that he shall pay them withal beyond the water: namely, with the king of the Assirians.

21. उस समय ऐसा होगा कि मनुष्य केवल एक कलोर और दो भेड़ों को पालेगा;

21. At the same time shall a man live with a cow, and two sheep.

22. और वे इतना दूध देंगी कि वह मक्खन खाया करेगा; क्योंकि जितने इस देश में रह जाएंगे वह सब मक्खन और मधु खाया करेंगे।।

22. Then because of the abundance of milk, he shall make butter and eat it. So that every one which remaineth in the land, shall eat butter and honey.

23. उस समय जिन जिन स्थानें में हजार टुकड़े चान्दी की हजार दाखलताएं हैं, उन सब स्थानें में कटीले ही कटीले पेड़ होंगे।

23. At the same time all vineyards (though there be a thousand vines in one, and were sold for a thousand silverlings) shall be turned to briers and thorns.

24. तीर और धनुष लेकर लोग वहां जाया करेंगे, क्योंकि सरे देश में कटीले पेड़ हो जाएंगे; और जितने पहाड़ कुदाल से खोदे जाते हैं,

24. Like as they shall come into the land with arrows and bows, so shall all the land become briers and thorns.

25. उन सभों पर कटीले पेड़ों के डर के मारे कोई न जाएगा, वे गाये बैलों के चरने के, और भेड़ बकरियों के रौंदने के लिये होंगे।।

25. And as for all hills that now are hewn down, thou shalt not come upon them, for fear of briers and thorns. But the cattle shall be driven thither, and the sheep shall feed there.
