1. सुनों, प्रभु सेनाओं का यहोवा यरूशलेम और यहूदा का सब प्रकार का सहारा और सिरहाना अर्थात् अन्न का सारा आधार, और जल का सारा आधार दूर कर देगा;

1. For lo, the Lord God of hostes will take away from Ierusalem and from Iudah the stay and the strength: euen all the staye of bread, and all the stay of water,

2. और वी और योद्धा को, न्यायी और नबी को, भावी वक्ता और वृद्ध को, पचास सिपाहियों के सरदार और प्रतिष्ठित पुरूष को,

2. The strong man, and the man of warre, the iudge and the prophet, the prudent and the aged,

3. मन्त्री और चतुर कारीगर को, और निपुण टोन्हे को भी दूर कर देगा।

3. The captaine of fiftie, and the honourable, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent man.

4. और मैं लड़कों को उनके हाकिम कर दूंगा, और बच्चे उन पर प्रभुता करेंगे।

4. And I will appoint children to bee their princes, and babes shall rule ouer them.

5. और प्रजा के लागे आपस में एक दूसरे पर, और हर एक अपने पड़ोसी पर अंधेर करेंगे; और जवान वृद्ध जनों से और नीच जन माननीय लोगों से असभ्यता का व्यवहार करेंगे।।

5. The people shalbe oppressed one of another, and euery one by his neighbour: the children shall presume against the ancient, and the vile against the honourable.

6. उस समय जब कोई पुरूष अपने पिता के घर में अपने भाई को पकड़कर कहेगा कि तेरे पास तो वस्त्रा है, आ हमारा न्यायी हो जा और इस उजड़े देश को अपने वश में कर ले;

6. When euery one shall take holde of his brother of the house of his father, and say, Thou hast clothing: thou shalt bee our prince, and let this fall be vnder thine hand.

7. तब वह शपथ खाकर कहेगा, मैं चंगा करनेहारा न हूंगा; क्योंकि मेरे घर में न तो रोटी है और न कपड़े; इसलिये तुम मुझे प्रजा का न्यायी नहीं नियुक्त कर सकोगे।

7. In that day hee shall sweare, saying, I cannot bee an helper: for there is no bread in mine house, nor clothing: therefore make me no prince of the people.

8. यरूशलेम तो डगमगाया और यहूदा गिर गया है; क्योंकि उनके वचन औश्र उनके काम यहोवा के विरूद्ध हैं, जो उसकी तेजोमय आंखों के साम्हने बलवा करनेवाले ठहरे हैं।।

8. Doubtlesse Ierusalem is fallen, and Iudah is fallen downe, because their tongue and workes are against the Lord, to prouoke the eyes of his glory.

9. उनका चिहरा भी उनके विरूद्ध साक्षी देता है; वे सदोमियों की नाई अपने आप को आप ही बखानते और नहीं छिपाते हैं। उन पर हाय! क्योंकि उन्हों ने अपनी हानि आप ही की है।

9. The triall of their countenance testifieth against them, yea, they declare their sinnes as Sodom, they hide them not. Wo be vnto their soules: for they haue rewarded euil vnto themselues.

10. धर्मियों से कहो कि उनका भला होगा, क्योंकि उसके कामों का फल उसको मिलेगा।

10. Say ye, Surely it shalbe well with the iust: for they shall eate the fruite of their workes.

11. मेरी प्रजा पर बच्चे अंधेर करते और स्त्रियां उन पर प्रभुता करती हैं। हे मेरी प्रजा, तेरे अगुवे तुझे भटकाते हैं, और तेरे चलने का मार्ग भुता देते हैं।।

11. Woe be to the wicked, it shalbe euill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him.

12. मेरी प्रजा पर बच्चे अंधेर करते और स्त्रियां उन पर प्रभुता करती हैं। हे मेरी प्रजा, तेरे अगुव तुझे भटकाते हैं, और तेरे चलने का मार्ग भुला देते हैं।।

12. Children are extortioners of my people, and women haue rule ouer them: O my people, they that leade thee, cause thee to erre, and destroy the way of thy paths.

13. यहोवा देश देश के लोगों से मुक मा लड़ने और उनका न्याय करने के लिये खड़ा है।

13. The Lord standeth vp to pleade, yea, hee standeth to iudge the people.

14. यहोवा अपनी प्रजा के वृद्ध और हाकिमों के साथ यह विवाद करता है, तुम ही ने बारी की दाख खा डाली है, और दीन लोगों का धन लूटकर तुम ने अपने घरों में रखा है।

14. The Lord shall enter into iudgement with the Ancients of his people and the princes thereof: for ye haue eaten vp the vineyarde: the spoyle of the poore is in your houses.

15. सेनाओं के प्रभु यहोवा की यह वाणी है, तुम क्यों मेरी प्रजा को दलते, और दीन लोगों को पीस डालते हो!

15. What haue ye to do, that ye beate my people to pieces, and grinde the faces of the poore, saith the Lord, euen the Lord of hoasts?

16. यहोवा ने यह भी कहा है, क्योंकि सिरयोन की स्त्रियां घमण्ड करतीं और सिर ऊंचे किये आंखें मटकातीं और घुंघुरूओं को छमछमाती हुई ठुमुक ठुमुक चलती हैं,

16. The Lord also saith, Because the daughters of Zion are hautie, and walke with stretched out neckes, and with wandering eyes, walking and minsing as they goe, and making a tinkeling with their feete,

17. इसलिये प्रभु यहोवा उनके सिर को गंजा करेगा, और उनके तन को उघरवाएगा।।

17. Therefore shall the Lord make the heades of the daughters of Zion balde, and the Lord shall discouer their secrete partes.

18. उस समय प्रभु घुंघुरूओं, जालियों,

18. In that day shall the Lord take away the ornament of the slippers, and the calles, and the round tyres,

19. चंद्रहारों, झुमकों, कड़ों, घूंघटों,

19. The sweete balles, and the brasselets, and the bonnets,

20. पगड़ियों, पैकरियों, पटुकों, सुगन्धपात्रों, गण्डों,

20. The tyres of the head, and the sloppes, and the head bandes, and the tablets, and the earings,

21. अंगूठियों, नत्थों,

21. The rings and the mufflers,

22. सुन्दर वस्त्रों, कुत्तियों, च रों, बटुओं,

22. The costly apparell and the vailes, and the wimples, and the crisping pinnes,

23. दर्पणों, मलमल के वस्त्रों, बुन्दियों, दुपट्टों इन सभों की शोभा को दूर करेगा।

23. And the glasses and the fine linen, and the hoodes, and the launes.

24. और सुगन्ध की सन्ती सड़ाहट, सुन्दर कर्घनी की सन्ती बन्धन की रस्सी, गुंथें हुए बालों की सन्ती गंजापन, सुन्दर पटुके की सन्ती टाट की पेटी, और सुन्दरता की सन्ती दाग होंगे।

24. And in steade of sweete sauour, there shall be stinke, and in steade of a girdle, a rent, and in steade of dressing of the heare, baldnesse, and in steade of a stomacher, a girding of sackecloth, and burning in steade of beautie.

25. तेरे पुरूष तलवार से, और शूरवीर युद्ध मे मारे जाएंगे।

25. Thy men shall fall by the sworde, and thy strength in the battell.

26. और उसके फाटकों में सांस भरना और विलाप करना होगा; और भूमि पर अकेली बैठी रहेगी।

26. Then shall her gates mourne and lament, and she, being desolate, shall sit vpon the ground.
