1. जंगल की ओर से सेला नगर से सिरयोन की बेटी के पर्वत पर देश के हाकिम के लिये भेड़ों के बच्चों को भेजो।

1. I will send as it were reptiles on the land; is [not] the mount of the daughter of Zion a desolate rock?

2. मोआब की बेटियां अर्नोन के घाट पर उजाड़े हुए बच्चों के समान हैं।

2. For you shall be as a young bird taken away from a bird that has flown; [even] you shall be [so], O daughter of Moab; and then do you, O Arnon,

3. सम्मति करो, न्याय चुकाओ; दोपहर ही में अपनी छाया को रात के समान करो; घर से निकाले हुओं को छिपा रखो, जो मारे मारे फिरते हैं उनको मत पकड़वाओ।

3. take farther counsel, and continually make a shelter from grief; they flee in darkness at midday; they are amazed; do not be led captive.

4. मेरे लोग जो निकाले हुए हैं वे तेरे बीच में रहें; नाश करनेवाले से मोआब को बचाओ। पीसनेवाला नहीं रहा, लूट पाट फिर न होगी; क्योंकि देश में से अन्धेर करनेवाले नाश हो गए हैं।

4. The fugitives of Moab shall sojourn with you; they shall be to you a shelter from the face of the pursuer; for your alliance has been taken away, and the oppressing ruler has perished from off the earth.

5. तब दया के साथ एक सिंहासन स्थिर किया जाएगा और उस पर दाऊद के तम्बू में सच्चाई के साथ एक विराजमान होगा जो सोच विचार कर सच्चा न्याय करेगा और धर्म के काम पर तत्पर रहेगा।।

5. And a throne shall be established with mercy; and one shall sit upon it with truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and earnestly seeking judgments, and hastening righteousness.

6. हम ने मोआब के गर्व के विषय सुना है कि वह अत्यन्त अभिमानी था; उसके अभिमान और गर्व और रोष के सम्बन्ध में भी सुना है परन्तु उसका बड़ा बोल व्यर्थ है।

6. We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud. I have cut off his pride; your prophecy shall not be thus, [no] not thus.

7. क्योंकि मोआब हाय हाय करेगा; सब के सब मोआब के लिये हाहाकार करेंगे। कीरहरासत की दाख की टिकियों के लिये वे अति निराश होकर लम्बी लम्बी सांस लिया करेंगे।।

7. Moab shall howl; for all shall howl in the land of Moab; but you shall care for them that dwell in Hareseth, and you shall not be ashamed.

8. क्योंकि हेशबोन के खेत और सिबमा की दाख लताएं मुर्झा गईं; अन्यजातियों के अधिकारियों ने उनकी उत्तम उत्तम लताओं को काट काटकर गिरा दिया है, ये याजेर तक पहुंची और जंगल में भी फैलती गईं; और बढ़ते बढ़ते ताल के पार दूर तक बढ़ गई थीं।

8. The plains of Heshbon shall mourn, the vine of Sibmah; swallowing up the nations, trample her vines, even to Jazer; you shall not come together; wander in the desert; they that were sent are deserted, for they have gone over to the sea.

9. मैं याजेर के साथ सिबमा की दाखलताओं के लिये भी रोऊंगा; हे हेशबोन और एलाले, मैं तुम्हें अपने आंसुओं से सींचूंगा; क्योंकि तुम्हारे धूपकाल के फलों के और अनाज की कटनी के समय की ललकार सुनाई पड़ी है।

9. Therefore will I weep as with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah; Heshbon and Elealeh have cast down your trees; for I will trample on your harvest and on your vintages, and all [your plants] shall fall.

10. और फलदाई बारियों में से आनन्द और मगनता जाती रही; दाख की बारियों में गीत न गाया जाएगा, न हर्ष का शब्द सुनाई देगा; और दाखरस के कुण्डों में कोई दाख न रौंदेगा, क्योंकि मैं उनके हर्ष के शब्द को बन्द करूंगा।

10. And gladness and rejoicing shall be taken away from the vineyards; and they shall not at all tread wine into the vats; for [the vintage] has ceased.

11. इसलिये मेरा मन मोआब के कारण और मेरा हृदय कीरहैरेस के कारण वीणा का सा क्रन्दन करता है।।

11. Therefore my belly shall sound as a harp for Moab, and you have repaired my inward parts as a wall.

12. और जब मोआब ऊंचे स्थान पर मुंह दिखाते दिखाते थक जाए, और प्रार्थना करने को अपने पवित्रा स्थान में आए, तो उसे कुछ लाभ न होगा।

12. And it shall be to your shame (for Moab is wearied at the altars), that he shall go in to the idols thereof to pray, but they shall by no means be able to deliver him.

13. यही वह बात है जो यहोवा ने इस से पहिले मोआब के विषय में कही थी।

13. This is the word which the Lord spoke against Moab, when He spoke.

14. परन्तु अब यहोवा ने यों कहा है कि मजदूरों के वर्षों के समान ती वर्ष के भीतर मोआब का विभव और उसकी भीड़- भाड़ सब तुच्छ ठहरेगी; और थोड़े जो बचेंगे उनका कोई बल न होगा।।

14. And now I say, in three years, of the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be dishonored [with] all his great wealth; and he shall be left few in number, and not honored.
