1. दाखमधु ठट्ठा करनेवाला और मदिरा हल्ला मचानेवाली है; जो कोई उसके कारण चूक करता है, वह बुद्धिमान नहीं।

12. Ears that hear and eyes that see-- we get our basic equipment from GOD!

13. नींद से प्रीति न रख, नहीं तो दरिद्र हो जाएगा; आंखें खोल तब तू रोटी से तृप्त होगा।

13. Don't be too fond of sleep; you'll end up in the poorhouse. Wake up and get up; then there'll be food on the table.

14. मोल लेने के समय ग्राहक तुच्छ तुच्छ कहता है; परन्तु चले जाने पर बढ़ाई करता है।

16. जो अनजाने का उत्तरदायी हुआ उसका कपड़ा, और जो पराए का उत्तरदायी हुआ उस से बंघक की वस्तु ले रख।

17. चोरी- छिपे की रोटी मनुष्य को मीठी तो लगती है, परन्तु पीछे उसका मुंह कंकड़ से भर जाता है।

18. सब कल्पनाएं सम्मत्ति ही से स्थिर होती हैं; और युक्ति के साथ युद्ध करना चाहिये।

24. The very steps we take come from GOD; otherwise how would we know where we're going?

25. An impulsive vow is a trap; later you'll wish you could get out of it.

26. After careful scrutiny, a wise leader makes a clean sweep of rebels and dolts.
