1. हे यहोवा, मैं ने गहिरे स्थानों में से तुझ को पुकारा है!

1. A Song of the Ascents. From depths I have called Thee, Jehovah.

2. हे प्रभु, मेरी सुन! तेरे कान मेरे गिड़गिड़ाने की ओर ध्यान से लगे रहें!

2. Lord, hearken to my voice, Thine ears are attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3. हे याह, यदि तू अधर्म के कामों का लेखा ले, तो हे प्रभु कौन खड़ा रह सकेगा?

3. If iniquities Thou dost observe, O Lord, who doth stand?

4. परन्तु तू क्षमा करनेवाला है? जिस से तेरा भय माना जाए।

4. But with Thee [is] forgiveness, that Thou mayest be feared.

5. मैं यहोवा की बाट जोहता हूं, मैं जी से उसकी बाट जोहता हूं, और मेरी आशा उसके वचन पर है;

5. I hoped [for] Jehovah -- hoped hath my soul, And for His word I have waited.

6. पहरूए जितना भोर को चाहते हैं, हां, पहरूए जितना भोर को चाहते हैं, उस से भी अधिक मैं यहोवा को अपने प्राणों से चाहता हूं।।

6. My soul [is] for the Lord, More than those watching for morning, Watching for morning!

7. इस्राएल यहोवा पर आशा लगाए रहे! क्योंकि यहोवा करूणा करनेवाला और पूरा छुटकारा देनेवाला है।

7. Israel doth wait on Jehovah, For with Jehovah [is] kindness, And abundant with Him [is] redemption.

8. इस्राएल को उसके सारे अधर्म के कामों से वही छुटकारा देगा।।
