1. हे स्वर्ग में विराजमान मैं अपनी आंखें तेरी ओर लगाता हूं!

1. A Song of Degrees. Unto You who dwells in heaven have I lifted up my eyes.

2. देख, जैसे दासों की आंखें अपने स्वामियों के हाथ की ओर, और जैसे दासियों की आंखें अपनी स्वामिनी के हाथ की ओर लगी रहती है, वैसे ही हमारी आंखें हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा की ओर उस समय तक लगी रहेंगी, जब तक वह हम पर अनुग्रह न करे।।

2. Behold, as the eyes of servants [are directed] to the hands of their masters, [and] as the eyes of a maidservant to the hands of her mistress; so our eyes [are directed] to the Lord our God, until He has mercy upon us.

3. हम पर अनुग्रह कर, हे यहोवा, हम पर अनुग्रह कर, क्योंकि हम अपमान से बहुत ही भर गए हैं।

3. Have pity upon us, O Lord, have pity upon us; for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

4. हमारा जीव सुखी लोगों के ठट्ठों से, और अहंकारियों के अपमान से बहुत ही भर गया है।।

4. [Yea], our soul has been exceedingly filled [with it]: [let] the reproach [be] to them that are at ease, and contempt to the proud.
