1. हे स्वर्ग में विराजमान मैं अपनी आंखें तेरी ओर लगाता हूं!

1. A Song of Ascents. UNTO YOU do I lift up my eyes, O You Who are enthroned in heaven.

2. देख, जैसे दासों की आंखें अपने स्वामियों के हाथ की ओर, और जैसे दासियों की आंखें अपनी स्वामिनी के हाथ की ओर लगी रहती है, वैसे ही हमारी आंखें हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा की ओर उस समय तक लगी रहेंगी, जब तक वह हम पर अनुग्रह न करे।।

2. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, and as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy and loving-kindness for us.

3. हम पर अनुग्रह कर, हे यहोवा, हम पर अनुग्रह कर, क्योंकि हम अपमान से बहुत ही भर गए हैं।

3. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on and loving-kindness for us, for we are exceedingly satiated with contempt.

4. हमारा जीव सुखी लोगों के ठट्ठों से, और अहंकारियों के अपमान से बहुत ही भर गया है।।

4. Our life is exceedingly filled with the scorning and scoffing of those who are at ease and with the contempt of the proud (irresponsible tyrants who disregard God's law).
