1. पुकार कर देख; क्या कोई है जो तुझे उत्तर देगा? और पवित्रों में से तू किस की ओर फिरेगा?

2. क्योंकि मूढ़ तो खेद करते करते नाश हो जाता है, और भोला जलते जलते मर मिटता है।

3. मैं ने मूढ़ को जड़ माड़ते देखा है; परन्तु अचानक मैं ने उसके वासस्थान को धिक्कारा।

3. I haue sene my self, when the foolish was depe roted, that his bewty was sodely destroyed:

4. उसके लड़केबाले उठ्ठार से दूर हैं, और वे फाटक में पीसे जाते हैं, और कोई नहीं है जो उन्हें छुड़ाए।

4. that his children were without prosperite or health: that they were slayne in the dore, and no ma to delyuer them:

5. उसके खेत की उपज भूखे लोग खा लेते हैं, वरन कटीली बाड़ में से भी निकाल लेते हैं; और प्यासा उनके धन के लिये फन्दा लगाता है।

5. that his haruest was eaten vp off the hungrie: that the weapened man had spoyled it, and that the thurstie had droncke vp his riches. It is not the earth that bryngeth forth trauayle,

6. क्योंकि विपत्ति धूल से उत्पन्न नहीं होती, और न कष्ट भूमि में से उगता है;

6. nether commeth sorow out of ye groude:

7. परन्तु जैसे चिंगारियां ऊपर ही ऊपर को उड़ जाती हैं,वैसे ही मनुष्य कष्ट ही भोगने के लिये उत्पन्न हुआ है।

7. but it is man, that is borne vnto mysery, like as the byrde for to fle.

8. परन्तु मैं तो ईश्वर ही को खोजता रहूंगा और अपना मुक़ मा परमेश्वर पर छोड़ दूंगा।

8. But now will I speake off the LORDE, and talke of God:

9. वह तो एसे बड़े काम करता है जिनकी थाह नहीं लगती, और इतने आश्चर्यकर्म करता है, जो गिने नहीं जाते।

9. which doth thinges, that are vnsearcheable, and marueles without nobre:

10. वही पृथ्वी के ऊपर वर्षा करता, और खेतों पर जल बरसाता है।

10. Which geueth rayne vpo the earth, and poureth water vpon all thinges:

11. इसी रीति वह नम्र लोगों को ऊंचे स्थान पर बिठाता है, और शोक का पहिरावा पहिने हुए लोग ऊंचे पर पहुचकर बचते हैं।

12. वह तो धूर्त्त लोगों की कल्पनाएं व्यर्थ कर देता है, और उनके हाथों से कुछ भी बन नहीं पड़ता।

13. वह बुध्दिमानों को उनकी धूर्त्तता ही में फंसाता है; और कुटिल लोगों की युक्ति दूर की जाती है।

13. which compaseth ye wyse in their owne craftynesse, and ouertroweth the councell of the wicked:

14. उन पर दिन को अन्धेरा छा जाता है, और दिन दुपहरी में वे रात की नाई टटोलते फिरते हैं।

14. In so moch that they runne in to darcknesse by fayre daye, and grope aboute them at the noone daye, like as in the night.

15. परन्तु वह दरिद्रों को उनके वचनरूपी तलवार से और बलवानों के हाथ से बचाता है।

15. And so he delyuereth the poore from the swearde, from their mouth, and from the hode of the cruell:

16. इसलिये कंगालों को आशा होती है, और कुटिल मनुष्यों का मुंह बन्द हो जाता है।

16. that the poore maye haue hope, & that the mouth of the oppressoure maye be stopped.

17. देख, क्या ही धन्य वह मनुष्य, जिसको ईश्वर ताड़ना देता है; इसलिये तू सर्वशक्तिमान की ताड़ना को तुच्छ मत जान।

17. Beholde, happie is the man, whom God punysheth: therfore, despyse not thou ye chastenynge of the Allmighty.

18. क्योंकि वही घायल करता, और वही पट्टी भी बान्धता है; वही मारता है, और वही अपने हाथों से चंगा भी करता है।

18. For though he make a wounde, he geueth a medicyne agayne: though he smyte, his honde maketh whole agayne.

19. वह तुझे छेविपत्तियों से छुड़ाएगा; वरन सात से भी तेरी कुछ हानि न होने पाएगी।

19. He delyuereth the out of sixe troubles, so that in the seuenth there can no harme touch the.

20. अकाल में वह तुझे मुत्यु से, और युठ्ठ में तलवार की धार से बचा लेगा।

20. In the myddest of honger he saueth ye from death: and when it is warre, from the power of the swearde.

21. तू वचनरूपी कोड़े से बचा रहेगा और जब विनाश आए, तब भी तुझे भय न होगा।

21. He shall kepe the from the perlous tonge so that when trouble commeth, thou shalt not nede to feare.

22. तू उजाड़ और अकाल के दिनों में हँसमुख रहेगा, और तुझे बनैले जन्तुओं से डर न लगेगा।

22. In destruccion and derth thou shalt be mery, and shalt not be afrayed for the beastes of the earth:

23. वरन मैदान के पत्थर भी तुझ से वाचा बान्धे रहेंगे, और वनपशु तुझ से मेल रखेंगे।

23. But the castels in the londe shal be confederate with the, & the beastes of the felde shall geue the peace:

24. और तुझे निश्चय होगा, कि तेरा डेरा कुशल से है, और जब तू अपने निवास में देखेे तब कोई वस्तु खेई न होगी।

24. Yee thou shalt se, that thy dwellynge place shalbe in rest: thou shalt beholde thy substaunce, and be nomore punyshed for synne.

25. तुझे यह भी निश्चित होगा, कि मेरे बहुत वंश होंगे। और मेरे सन्तान पृथ्वी की घास के तुल्य बहुत होंगे।

25. Thou shalt se also, that thy sede shall encreace, and that thy posterite shalbe as the grasse vpon the earth.

26. जैसे पूलियों का ढेर समय पर खलिहान में रखा जाता है, वैसे ही तू पूरी अवस्था का होकर क़ब्र को पहुंचेगा।

26. Thou shalt come to thy graue in a fayre age, like as ye corne sheeues are brought in to the barne in due season.

27. देख, हम ने खोज खोजकर ऐसा ही पाया है; इसे तू सुन, और अपने लाभ के लिये ध्यान में रख।

27. Lo, this is the matter, as we oure selues haue proued by experience. Therfore now that thou hearest it, take better hede to thy selff.
