1. तब अरयूब ने कहा,

1. Iob answered, and sayd:

2. मेरी कुड़कुड़ाहट अब भी नहीं रूक सकती, मेरी मार मेरे कराहने से भारी है।

2. My sayenge is yet this daye in bytternes, and my hande heuy amonge my groninges.

3. भला होता, कि मैं जानता कि वह कहां मिल सकता है, तब मैं उसके विराजने के स्थान तक जा सकता !

3. O that I might se him & fynde him: O that I might come before his seate,

4. मैं उसके साम्हने अपना मुक़ मा पेश करता, और बहुत से प्रमाण देता।

4. to pleate my cause before him, and to fyll my mouth with argumentes:

5. मैं जान लेता कि वह मुझ से उत्तर में क्या कह सकता है, और जो कुछ वह मुझ से कहता वह मैं समझ लेता।

5. That I might knowe, what answere he wolde geue me: & that I might vnderstonde, what he wolde saye vnto me.

6. क्या वह अपना बड़ा बल दिखाकर मुझ से मुक़ मा लड़ता? नहीं, वह मुझ पर ध्यान देता।

6. Wil he pleate agaynst me with his greate power & strength, or wyll he leane him self vtterly vpon me?

7. सज्जन उस से विवाद कर सकते, और इस रीति मैं अपने न्यायी के हाथ से सदा के लिये छूट जाता।

7. Oh no, let him not do so with me. But let hym geue me like power to go to lawe, then am I sure to wynne my matter.

8. देखो, मैं आगे जाता हूँ परन्तु वह नहीं मिलता; मैं पीछे हटता हूँ, परन्तु वह दिखाई नहीं पड़ता;

8. For though I go before, I fynde him not: yf I come behynde, I ca get no knowlege of him:

9. जब वह बाई ओर काम करता है तब वह मुझे दिखाई नहीं देता; वह तो दहिनी ओर ऐसा छिप जाता है, कि मुझे वह दिखाई ही नहीं पड़ता।

9. Yf I go on the left syde to pondre his workes, I can not atteyne vnto them: Agayne, yf I go on the right syde, he hydeth himself, yt I can not se him.

10. परन्तु वह जानता है, कि मैं कैसी चाल चला हूँ; और जब वह मुझे ता लेगा तब मैं सोने के समान निकलूंगा।

10. But as for my waye, he knoweth it: & trieth me as ye golde in ye fyre.

11. मेरे पैर उसके माग में स्थिर रहे; और मैं उसी का मार्ग बिना मुड़े थामे रहा।

11. Neuertheles my fete kepe his path, his hye strete haue I holden, and not gone out of it.

12. उसकी आज्ञा का पालन करने से मैं न हटा, और मैं ने उसके वचन अपनी इच्छा से कहीं अधिक काम के जानकर सुरक्षित रखे।

12. I haue not forsaken the comaundemet of his lippes, but loke what he charged me with his mouth, that haue I shutt vp in my herte.

13. परन्तु वह एक ही बात पर अड़ा रहता है, और कौन उसको उस से फिरा सकता है? जो कुछ उसका जी चाहता है वही वह करता है।

13. It is he himself alone, who will turne him back? He doth as him listeth, and bryngeth to passe what he wil.

14. जो कुछ मेरे लिये उस ने ठाना है, उसी को वह पूरा करता है; और उसके मन में ऐसी ऐसी बहुत सी बातें हैं।

14. He rewardeth me into my bosome, & many other thinges mo doth he, as he maye by his power.

15. इस कारण मैं उसके सम्मुख घबरा जाता हूँ; जब मैं सोचता हूँ तब उस से थरथरा उठता हूँ।

15. This is ye cause, that I shrenke at his presence, so that when I considre him, I am afrayed of him.

16. क्योंकि मेरा मन ईश्वर ही ने कच्चा कर दिया, और सर्वशक्तिमान ही ने मुझ को असमंजस में डाल दिया है।

16. For in so moch as he is God, he maketh my herte soft: and seynge that he is Allmightie, he putteth me in feare.

17. इसलिये कि मैं इस अन्धयारे से पहिले काट डाला न गया, और उस ने घोर अन्धकार को मेरे साम्हने से न छिपाया।

17. Thus can not I get out of darcknesse, the cloude hath so couered my face.
