1. जब शीबा की रानी ने सुलैमान की कीर्त्ति सुनी, तब वह कठिन कठिन प्रश्नों से उसकी परीक्षा करने के लिये यरूशलेम को चली । वह बहुत भारी दल और मसालों और बहुत सोने और मणि से लदे ऊंट साथ लिये हुए आई, और सुलैमान के पास पहुंचकर उससे अपने मन की सब बातों के विषय बातें कीं।

1. And, the queen of Sheba, heard the report of Solomon, so she came to prove Solomon with abstruse questions, in Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels bearing spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones, and, when she was come to Solomon, she spake with him, as to all that was near her heart.

2. सुलैमान ने उसके सब प्रश्नों का उत्तर दिया, कोई बात सुलैमान की बुध्दि से ऐसी बाहर न रही कि वह उसे न बता सके।

2. And Solomon answered her all her questions, and there was nothing hidden from Solomon, which he told her not.

3. जब शीबा की रानी ने सुलैमान की बुध्दिमानी और उसका बनाया हुआ भवन

3. And, when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had built;

4. और उसकी मेज पर का भोजन देखा, और उसके कर्मचारी किस रीति बैठते और उसके ठहलुए किस रीति खड़े रहते और कैसे कैसे कपड़े पहिने रहते हैं, और उसके पिलानेवाले कैसे हैं, और वे कैसे कपड़े पहिने हैं, और वह कैसी चढ़ाई है जिस से वह यहोवा के भवन को जाया करता है, जब उस ने यह सब देखा, तब वह चकित हो गई।

4. and the food of his table, and the seats of his servants, and the standing of his attendants, with their apparel, and his cupbearers, and their apparel, and his ascent whereby he used to ascend the house of Yahweh, then was there in her no more spirit.

5. तब उस ने राजा से कहा, मैं ने तेरे कामों और बुध्दिमानी की जो कीर्त्ति अपने देश में सुनी वह सच ही है।

5. And she said unto the king, True was the word, which I heard in my own land, concerning thine affairs, and concerning thy wisdom.

6. परन्तु जब तक मैं ने आप ही आकर अपनी आंखों से यह न देखा, तब तक मैं ने उनकी प्रतीति न की; परन्तु तेरी बुध्दि की आधी बड़ाई भी मुझे न बताई गई थी; तू उस कीर्त्ति से बढ़कर है जो मैं ने सुनी थी।

6. Howbeit I believed not their words, until I had come and mine own eyes had seen, when lo! there had not been told me, the half of the fulness of thy wisdom, thou dost exceed the report which I heard.

7. धन्य हैं तेरे जन, धन्य हैं तेरे ये सेवक, जो नित्य तेरे सम्मुख उपस्थित रहकर तेरी बुध्दि की बातें सुनते हैं।

7. How happy! are thy men, and how happy! are these thy servants, who are standing before thee continually, and hearing thy wisdom.

8. धन्य है तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा, जो तुझ से ऐसा प्रसन्न हुआ, कि तुझे अपनी राजगद्दी पर इसलिये विराजमान किया कि तू अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की ओर से राज्य करे; तेरा परमेश्वर जो इस्राएल से प्रेम करके उन्हें सदा के लिये स्थ्रि करना जाहता थ, उसी कारण उस ने तुझे न्याय और धर्म करने को उनका राजा बना दिया।

8. Yahweh thy God be blessed, who hath delighted in thee, to set thee upon his throne as king unto Yahweh thy God. Because of the love of thy God unto Israel, to establish them unto times age-abiding, therefore hath he set thee over them, as king, to execute justice and righteousness.

9. और उस ने राजा को एक सौ बीस किक्कार सोना, बहुत सा सुगन्ध द्ररय, और मणि दिए; जैसे सुगन्धद्ररय शीबा की रानी ने राजा सुलैमान को दिए, वैसे देखने में नहीं आए।

9. And she gave unto the king, a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance and precious stones, and there was none like that spice, which the queen of Sheba gave unto King Solomon.

10. फिर हूराम और सुलैमान दोनों के जहाजी जो ओषीर से सोना लाते थे, वे चन्दन की लकड़ी और मणि भी लाते थे।

10. Moreover also, the servants of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought sandal-wood and precious stones.

11. और राजा ने चन्दन की लकड़ी से यहोवा के भवन और राजभवन के लिये चबूतरे और गवैयों के लिये वीणाएं और सारंगियां बनवाई; ऐसी वस्तुएं उस से पहिले यहूदा देश में न देख पड़ी थीं

11. And the king made of the sandal-wood, stairs unto the house of Yahweh, and unto the house of the king, also lyres and harps, for the singers, and there were none seen like them before, in the land of Judah.

12. और शीबा की रानी ने जो कुछ चाहा वही राजा सुलैमान ने उसको उसकी इच्छा के अनुसार दिया; यह उस से अधिक था, जो वह राजा के पास ले आई थी। तब वह अपने जनों समेत अपने देश को लौट गई।

12. And, King Solomon, gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, besides a return for that which she had brought unto the king, so she turned, and went away to her own land, she, and her servants.

13. जो सोना प्रति वर्ष सुलैमान के पास पहुचा करता था, उसका तौल छे सौ छियासठ किक्कार था।

13. Now, the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year, was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold;

14. यह उस से अधिक था जो सौदागर और रयापारी लाते थे; और अरब देश के सब राजा और देश के अधिपति भी सुलैमान के पास सोना चान्दी लाते थे।

14. besides what came in from the subjugated, and what the travelling merchants were bringing in, and, all the kings of Arabia and the pashas of the land, were bringing gold and silver, unto Solomon.

15. और राजा सुलैमान ने सोना गढ़ाकर दो सौ बड़ी बड़ी ढालें बनवाई; एक एक ढाल में छेछेसौ शेकेल गढ़ा हुआ सोना लगा।

15. And King Solomon made two hundred shields of beaten gold, six hundred shekels of beaten gold, overlay one shield;

16. फिर उस ने सोना गढ़ाकर तीन सौ छोटी ढालें और भी बनवाई; एक एक छोटी ढाल मे तीन सौ शेकेल सोना लगा, और राजा ने उनको लबानोनी बन नामक भवन में रखा दिया।

16. also three hundred bucklers of beaten gold, three hundred shekels of gold, overlay one buckler, and the king placed them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

17. और राजा ने हाथीदांत का एक बड़ा सिंहासन बनाया और चोखे सोने से मढ़ाया।

17. And the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold;

18. उस सिंहासन में छे सीढियां और सोने का एक पावदान था; ये सब सिंहासन से जुड़े थे, और बैठने के स्थान की दोनोें अलंग टेक लगी थी और दोनों टेकों के पास एक एक सिंह खड़ा हुआ बना था।

18. and there were six steps to the throne, and a footstool in gold, unto the throne, made fast, and supports, on this side and on that, unto the seat, and, two lions, standing by the supports;

19. और छहों सीढ़ियों की दोनों अलंग में एक एक सिंह खड़ा हुअ बना था, वे सब बारह हुए। किसी राज्य में ऐसा कभी न बना।

19. and, twelve lions, standing there upon the six steps, on this side and on that, there was never made the like, for any kingdom.

20. और रजा सुलैमान के पीने के सब पात्रा सोने के थे, और लबानोनी बन नामक भवन के सब पात्रा भी चोखे सोने के थे; सुलैमान के दिनों में चान्दी का कुछ हिसाब न था।

20. And, all the drinking vessels of King Solomon, were of gold, and, all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon, were of purified gold, there was no silver, it was esteemed, in the days of Solomon, as nothing.

21. क्योंकि हूराम के जहाजियों के संग राजा के तश श को जानेवाले जहाज थे, और तीन तीन वर्ष के बाद वे तश श के जहाज सोना, चान्दी, हाथीदांत, बन्दर और मोर ले आते थे।

21. For, the ships of the king, used to go to Tarshish, with the servants of Huram, once in three years, came in the ships of Tarshish, bearing gold and silver, ivory and apes, and peacocks.

22. यों राजा सुलैमान धन और बुध्दि में पृथ्वी के सब राजाओं से बढ़कर हो गया।

22. And so King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth, as to riches, and wisdom.

23. और पृथ्वी के सब राजा सुलैमान की उस बुध्दि की बातें सुनने को जो परमेश्वर ने उसके मन में उपजाई थीं उसका दर्शन करना चाहते थे।

23. And, all the kings of the earth, were seeking the face of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart;

24. और वे प्रति वर्ष अपनी अपनी भेंट अर्थात् चान्दी और सोने के पात्रा, वस्त्रा- शस्त्रा, सुगन्धद्ररय, घोड़े और खच्चर ले आते थे।

24. and, they, were bringing in every man his present utensils of silver, and utensils of gold, and mantles, armour, and spices, horses and mules, the need of a year in a year.

25. और अपने घेड़ों और रथों के लिये सुलैमान के चार हजार थान और बारह हजार सवार भी थे, जिनको उस ने रथों के नगरों में और यरूशलेम में राजा के पास ठहरा रखा।

25. And Solomon had four thousand stalls of horses, and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he settled them in the chariot cities, and with the king in Jerusalem.

26. और वह महानद से ले पलिश्तियों के देश और मिस्र के सिवाने तक के सब राजाओं पर प्रभुता करता था।

26. And he ruled over all the kings, from the river Euphrates , even up to the land of the Philistines, yea up to the bounds of Egypt.

27. और राजा ने ऐसा किया, कि बहुतायत के कारण यरूशलेम में चान्दी का मूल्य पत्थरों का और देवदार का मूल्य नीचे के देश के गूलरों का सा हो गया।

27. And the king made the silver in Jerusalem like the stones, and, the cedar trees, made he like the sycomores which are in the lowland, for abundance.

28. और लोग मिस्र से और और सब देशों से सुलैमान के लिये घोड़े लाते थे।

28. And they used to bring horses out of Egypt unto Solomon, and out of all lands.

29. आदि से अन्त तक सुलैमान के और सब काम क्या नातान नबी की पुस्तक में, और शीलोवासी अहिरयाह की तबूवत की पुस्तक में, और नबात के पुत्रा यारोबाम के विषय इद्दॊ दश के दर्शन की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखे हैं?

29. Now, the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the records of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer, concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?

30. सुलैमान ने यरूशलेम में सारे इस्राएल पर चालीस वर्ष तक राज्य किया।

30. And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel, forty years.

31. और सुलैमान अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो गया और उसको उसके पिता दाऊद के नगर में मिट्टी दी गई; और उसका पुत्रा रहूबियाम उसके स्थान पर राजा हुआ।

31. And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father, and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
