1. तब सुलैमान ने यरूशलेम में मोरिरयाह नाम पहाड़ पर उसी स्थान में यहोवा का भवन बनाना आरम्भ किया, जिसे उसके पिता दाऊद ने दर्शन पाकर यबूसी ओर्नान के खलिहान में तैयार किया था :

1. Solomon then began building the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where David his father had had a vision -- on the site which David had prepared -- on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2. उस ने अपने राज्य के चौथे वर्ष के दूसरे महीने के, दूसरे दिन को बनाना आरम्भ किया।

2. He began building it on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign.

3. परमेश्वर का जो भवन सुलैमान ने बनाया, उसका यह ढव है, अर्थात् उसकी लम्बाई तो प्राचीन काल की नाप के अनुसार साठ हाथ, और उसकी चौड़ाई बीस हाथ् की थी।

3. These are the dimensions which Solomon fixed for the structure of the house of God: its length in cubits, according to the old standard, was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits;

4. और भवन के साम्हने के ओसारे की लम्बाई तो भवन की चौड़ाई के बराबर बीस हाथ की; और उसकी ऊंचाई एक सौ बीस हाथ की थी। सुलैमान ने उसको भीतर चोखे सोने से मढ़वाया।

4. and the portico in front of the house was the full width of the house, that is, twenty cubits, and its height was a hundred and twenty cubits; on the inside he overlaid it with pure gold.

5. और भवन के बड़े भाग की छत उस ने सनोवर की लकड़ी से पटवाई, और उसको अच्छे सोने से मढ़वाया, और उस पर खजूर के वृक्ष की और सांकलों की नक्काशी कराई।

5. The Great Hall he lined with juniper, which he overlaid with fine gold and ornamented with palm trees and festoons,

6. फिर शोभा देने के लिये उस ने भवन में मणि जड़वाए। और यह सोना पवैंम का था।

6. and he decorated the hall beautifully with precious stones and with gold from Parvaim,

7. और उस ने भवन को, अर्थात् उसकी कड़ियों, डेवढ़ियों, भीतों और किवाडों को सोने से मढ़वाया, और भीतों पर करूब खुदवाए।

7. overlaying the hall, its beams and its thresholds, its walls and its doors, with gold and engraving the walls with great winged creatures.

8. फिर उस ने भवन के परमपवित्रा स्थान को बनाया; उसकी लम्बाई तो भवन की चौड़ाई के बराबर बीस हाथ की थी, और उसकी चौड़ाई बीस हाथ की थी; और उस ने उसे छे सौ किक्कार चोखे सोने से मढ़वाया।

8. He also made the Holy of Holies, the length of which corresponded to the width of the Great Hall, being twenty cubits, with a width of twenty cubits, and this he overlaid with fine gold weighing six hundred talents,

9. और सोने की कीलों का तौल पचास शेकेल था। और उस ने अटारियों को भी सोने से मढ़वाया।

9. while the weight of the gold nails was fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper rooms with gold.

10. फिर भवन के परमपवित्रा स्थान में उसने नक्काशी के काम के दो करूब बनवाए और वे सोने से मढ़वाए गए।

10. In the Holy of Holies he modelled two winged creatures of wrought metal work and overlaid them with gold.

11. करूबों के पंख तो सब मिलकर बीस हाथ लम्बे थे, अर्थात् एक करूब का एक पंख पांच हाथ का और भवन की भीत तक पहुंचा हुआ था; और उसका दूसरा पंख पांच हाथ का था और दूसरे करूब के पंख से मिला हुआ था।

11. The total span of their wings was twenty cubits; one wing, being five cubits long, touched the wall of the house and the other wing, being five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature;

12. और दूसरे करूब का भी एक पंख पांच हाथ का और भवन की दूसरी भीत तक पहुंचा था, और दूसरा पंख पांच हाथ का और पहिले करूब के पंख से सटा हुआ था।

12. while one wing of the other, five cubits long, touched the other wall of the house and the other wing, five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature.

13. इन करूबों के पंख बीस हाथ फैले हुए थे; और वे अपने अपने पांवों के बल खड़े थे, और अपना अपना मुख भीतर की ओर किए हुए थे।

13. The spread of these creatures' wings was twenty cubits. They stood in an upright position, with their faces towards the Hall.

14. फिर उस ने बीचवाले पर्दे को नीले, बैंजनी और लाल रंग के सन के कपड़े का बनवाया, और उस पर करूब कढ़वाए।

14. He also made the Curtain of violet, scarlet, crimson and fine linen, working a design of winged creatures on it.

15. और भवन के साम्हने उस ने पैंतीस पैंतीस हाथ ऊंचे दो खम्भे बनवाए, और जो कंगनी एक एक के ऊपर थी वह पांच पांच हाथ की थी।

15. In front of the Hall he made two pillars thirty-five cubits high, and on the top of each a capital measuring five cubits.

16. फिर उस ने भीतरी कोठरी में सांकलें बनवाकर खम्भों के ऊपर लगाई, और एक सौ अनार भी बनाकर सांकलों पर लटकाए।

16. He made festoons, in the Debir, to go at the tops of the pillars, and made a hundred pomegranates to go on the festoons.

17. उस ने इन ख्म्भों को मन्दिर के साम्हने, एक तो उसकी दाहिनी ओर और दूसरा बाई ओर खड़ा कराया; और दाहिने खम्भे का नाम याकीन और बायें खम्भे का नाम बोअज़ रखा।

17. He erected the pillars in front of the Temple, one on the right, the other on the left; the one on the right he called Jachin and the one on the left, Boaz.
