1. यहोशपात बड़ा धनवान और ऐश्वरर्यवान हो गया; और उस ने अहाब के साथ समधियाना किया।

1. And Iehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, but he was ioyned in affinitie with Ahab.

2. कुछ वर्ष के बाद वह शोमरोन में अहाब के पास गया, तब अहाब ने उसके और उसके संगियों के लिये बहुत सी भेड़- बकरियां और गाय- बैल काटकर, उसे गिलाद के रामोत पर चढ़ाई करने को उसकाया।

2. And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.

3. और इस्राएल के राजा अहाब ने यहूदा के राजा यहोशापात से कहा, क्या तू मेरे साथ गिलाद के रामोत पर चढ़ाई करेगा? उस ने उसे उत्तर दिया, जैसा तू वैसा मैं भी हूँ, और जैसी तेरी प्रजा, वैसी मेरी भी प्रजा है। हम लोग युठ्ठ में तेरा साथ देंगे।

3. And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.

4. फिर यहोशापात ते इस्राएल के राजा से कहा, आज यहोवा की आज्ञा ले।

4. And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.

5. तब इस्राएल के राजा ने नबियों को जो चार सौ पुरूष थे, इकट्ठा करके उन से पूछा, क्या हम गिलाद के रामोत पर युठ्ठ करने को चढ़ाई करें, अथवा मैं रूका रहूं? उन्हों ने उत्तर दिया चढ़ाई कर, क्योंकि परमेश्वर उसको राजा के हाथ कर देगा।

5. Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.

6. परन्तु यहोशापात ने पूछा, क्या यहों यहोवा का और भी कोई नबी नहीं है जिस से हम पूछ लें?

6. But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lord that wee might inquire of him?

7. इस्राएल के राजा ने यहोशापात से कहा, हां, एक पुरूष और है, जिसके द्वारा हम यहोवा से पूछ सकते हैं; परन्तु मैं उस से घृणा करता हूँ; क्योंकि वह मेरे विष्य कभी कल्याण की नहीं, सदा हानि ही की नबूवत करता है। वह यिम्ला का पुत्रा मीकायाह है। यहोशापात ने कहा, राजा ऐसा न कहे।

7. And the King of Israel sayd vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whome wee may aske counsell of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophesie good vnto me, but alway euil: it is Michaiah the sonne of Imla. Then Iehoshaphat said, Let not the King say so.

8. तब इस्राएल के राजा ने एक हाकिम को बुलवाकर कहा, यिम्ला के पुत्रा मीकायाह को फुत से ले आ।

8. And the King of Israel called an eunuche, and said, Call quickly Michaiah the sonne of Imla.

9. इस्राएल का राजा और यहूदा का राजा यहोशापात अपने अपने राजवस्त्रा पहिने हुए, अपने अपने सिंहासन पर बैठे हुए थे; वे शोमरोन के फाटक में एक खुले स्थान में बैठे थे और सब नबी उनके साम्हने नबूवत कर रहे थे।

9. And the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne clothed in their apparel: they sate euen in the threshing floore at the entring in of the gate of Samaria: and all the Prophets prophesied before them.

10. तब कनाना के पुत्रा सिदकिरयाह ने लोहे के सींग बनवाकर कहा, यहोवा यों कहता है, कि इन से तू अरामियों को मारते मारते नाश कर डालेगा।

10. And Zidkiah ye sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites vntill thou hast consumed them.

11. और सब नबियों ने इसी आशय की नबूवत करके कहा, कि गिलाद के रामोत पर चढ़ाई कर और तू कृतार्थ होवे; क्योंकि यहोवा उसे राजा के हाथ कर देगा।

11. And all the Prophets prophesied so, saying, Go vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.

12. And the messenger that went to call Michaiah, spake to him, saying, Beholde, the wordes of the Prophets declare good to the King with one accord: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speake thou good.

13. और जो दूत मीकायाह को बुलाने गया था, उस ने उस से कहा, सुन, नबी लोग एक ही मुंह से राजा के विषय हाुभ वचन कहते हैं; सो तेरी बात उनकी सी हो, तू भी शुभ वचन कहना।

13. And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer my God saith, that will I speake.

14. मीकायाह ने कहा, यहोवा के जीवन की सौंह, जो कुछ मेरा परमेश्वर कहे वही मैं भी कहूंगा।

14. So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I leaue off? And he said, Goe yee vp, and prosper, and they shalbe deliuered into your hand.

15. जब वह राजा के पास आया, तब राजा ने उस से पूछा, हे मीकायाह, क्या हम गिलाद के रामोत पर युठ्ठ करने को चढ़ाई करें अथवा मैं रूका रहूं? उस ने कहा, हां, तुम लोग चढ़ाई करो, और कृतार्थ होओ; और वे तुम्हारे हाथ में कर दिए जाएंगे।

15. And the King sayd to him, Howe oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell mee nothing but the trueth in the Name of the Lord?

16. राजा ने उस से कहा, मुझे कितनी बार तुझे शपथ धराकर चिताना होगा, कि तू यहोवा का स्मरण करके मुझ से सच ही कह।

16. Then he said, I saw al Israel scattered in the mountaines, as sheepe that haue no shepheard: and the Lord sayd, These haue no Master: let them returne euery man to his house in peace.

17. मीकायाह ने कहा, मुझे सारा इस्राएल बिना चरवाहे की भेंड़- बकरियों की नाई पहाड़ों पर तितर बितर दिखाई पड़ा, और यहोवा का वचन आया कि वे तो अनाथ हैं, इसलिये हर एक अपने अपने घर कुशल क्षेम से लौट जाएं।

17. And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would not prophesie good vnto me, but euill?

18. तब इस्राएल के राजा ने यहोशापात से कहा, क्या मैं ने तुझ से न कहा था, कि वह मेरे विषय कल्याण की नहीं, हानि ही की नबूवत करेगा?

18. Againe hee saide, Therefore heare ye the worde of the Lord: I sawe the Lord sit vpon his throne, and all the hoste of heauen standing at his right hand, and at his left.

19. मीकायाह ने कहा, इस कारण तुम लोग यहोवा का यह वचन सुनो : मुझे सिंहासन पर विराजमान यहोवा और उसके दाहिने बाएं खड़ी हुई स्वर्ग की सारी सेना दिखाई पड़ी।

19. And the Lord sayd, Who shall perswade Ahab King of Israel, that he may go vp, and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one spake and said thus, and another said that.

20. तब यहोवा ने पूछा, इस्राएल के राजा अहाब को कौन ऐसा बहकाएगा, कि वह गिलाद के रामोत पर चढ़ाई करके खेत आए, तब किसी ने कुछ और किसी ने कुछ कहा।

20. Then there came forth a spirit and stoode before the Lord, and said, I will perswade him. And the Lord said vnto him, Wherein?

21. निदान एक आत्मा पास आकर यहोवा के सम्मुख खड़ी हुई, और कहने लगी, मैं उसको बहकाऊंगी।

21. And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets. And hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.

22. यहोवा ने पूछा, किस उपाय से? उस ने कहा, मैं जाकर उसके सब नबियों में पैठ के उन से झूठ बुलवाऊंगी। यहोवा ने कहा, तेरा उसको बहकाना सफल होगा, जाकर ऐसा ही कर।

22. Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a false spirit in the mouth of these thy Prophets, and the Lord hath determined euill against thee.

23. इसलिये तुन अब यहोवा ने तेरे इन नबियों के मुंह में एक झूठ बोलनेवाली आत्मा पैठाई है, और यहोवा ने तेरे विषय हानि की बात कही है।

23. Then Zidkiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah vpon the cheeke, and sayde, By what way went the Spirit of the Lord from me, to speake with thee?

24. तब कनाना के पुत्रा सिदकिरयाह ने निकट जा, मीकायाह के गाल पर थप्पड़ मारकर पूछा, यहोवा का आत्मा मुझे छोड़कर तुझ से बातें करने को किधर गया।

24. And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see that day when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.

25. उस ने कहा, जिस दिन तू छिपने के लिये कोठरी से कोठरी में भागेगा, तब जान लेगा।

25. And the King of Israel sayde, Take ye Michaiah, and cary him to Amon the gouernour of the citie, and to Ioash the Kings sonne,

26. इस पर इस्राएल के राजा ने कहा, कि मीकायाह को नगर के हाकिम आमोन और राजकुमार योआश के पास लौटाकर,

26. And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction vntil I returne in peace.

27. उन से कहो, राजा यों कहता है, कि इसको बन्दीगृह में डालो, और जब तक मैं कुशल से न आऊं, तब तक इसे दु:ख की रोटी और पानी दिया करो।

27. And Michaiah said, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he saide, Heare, all ye people.

28. तब मीकायाह ने कहा, यदि तू कभी कुशल से लौटे, तो जान, कि यहोवा ने मेरे द्वारा नहीं कहा। फिर उस ने कहा, हे लोगो, तुम सब के सब सुनं लो।

28. So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.

29. तब इस्राएल के राजा और यहूदा के राजा यहोशापात दोनों ने गिलाद के रामोत पर चढ़ाई की।

29. And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, I will change my selfe, and enter into the battel: but put thou on thine apparel. So the King of Israel changed himselfe, and they went into the battel.

30. और इस्राएल के राजा ने यहोशापात से कहा, मैं तो भेष बदलकर युठ्ठ में जाऊंगा, परन्तु तू अपने ही वस्त्रा पहिने रह। इस्राएल के राजा ने भेष बदला और वे दोनों युठ्ठ में गए।

30. And the King of Aram had commanded the captaines of the charets that were with him, saying, Fight you not with small, nor great, but against the King of Israel onely.

31. अराम के राजा ने तो अपने रथों के प्रधानों को आज्ञा दी थी, कि न तो छोटे से लड़ो और न बड़े से, केवल इस्राएल के राजा से लड़ो।

31. And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayde, It is the King of Israel: and they compassed about him to fight. But Iehoshaphat cryed, and the Lord helped him and moued them to depart from him.

32. सो जब रथों के प्रधानों ने यहोशापात को देखा, तब कहा इस्राएल का राजा वही है, और वे उसी से लड़ने को मुड़े। इस पर यहोशापात चिल्ला उठा, तब यहोवा ने उसकी सहायता की। और परमेश्वर ने उनको उसके पास से फिर जाने की प्रेरणा की।

32. For when the captaines of the charets saw that hee was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.

33. सो यह देखकर कि वह इस्राएल का राजा नही है, रथों के प्रधान उसका पीछा छोड़ के लौट गए।

33. Then a certaine man drewe a bowe mightily, and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine: Therefore he saide to his charetman, Turne thine hand, and carie mee out of the host: for I am hurt.

34. तब किसी ने अटकल से एक तीर चलाया, और वह इस्राएल के राजा के झिलम और निचले वस्त्रा के बीच छेदकर लगा; तब उस ने अपने सारथी से कहा, मैं घायल हुआ, इसलिये लगाम फेरके मुझे सेना में से बाहर ले चल।

34. And the battel increased that day: and the King of Israel stood still in his charet against the Aramites vntil euen, and dyed at the time of the sunne going downe.
