1. भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेलों की पत्नियों में से एक स्त्री ने एलीशा की दोहाई देकर कहा, तेरा दास मेरा पति मर गया, और तू जानता है कि वह यहोवा का भय पाननेवाला था, और जिसका वह कर्जदार था वह आया है कि मेरे दोनों पुत्रों को अपने दाय बनाने के लिये ले जाए।

1. A man from the group of prophets had a wife. This man died, and his wife cried out to Elisha, 'My husband was like a servant to you. Now he is dead! You know he honored the Lord. But he owed money to a man. Now that man is coming to take my two boys and make them his slaves!'

2. एलीशा ने उस से पूछा, मैं तेरे लिये क्या करूं? मुझ से कह, कि तेरे घर में क्या है? उस ने कहा, तेरी दासी के घर में एक हांड़ी तेल को छोड़ और कुछ तहीं है।

2. Elisha answered, 'How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?' The woman said, 'I don't have anything in the house except a jar of olive oil.'

3. उस ने कहा, तू बाहर जाकर अपनी सब पड़ोसिनों से खाली बरतन मांग ले आ, और थोड़े बरतन न लाना।

3. Then Elisha said, 'Go and borrow bowls from all your neighbors. They must be empty. Borrow plenty of bowls.

4. फिर तू अपने बेटों समेत अपने घर में जा, और द्वार बन्द करकें उन सब बरतनों में तेल उणडेल देना, और जो भर जाए उन्हें अलग रखना।

4. Then go to your house and close the doors. Only you and your sons will be in the house. Then pour the oil into all the bowls. Fill them, and put them in a separate place.'

5. तब वह उसके पास से चली गई, और अपने बेटों समेत अपने घर जाकर द्वार बन्द किया; तब वे तो उसके पास बरतन लाते गए और वह उणडेलती गई।

5. So the woman left Elisha, went into her house, and shut the door. Only she and her sons were in the house. Her sons brought the bowls to her and she poured oil.

6. जब बरतन भर गए, तब उस ने अपने बेटे से कहा, मेरे पास एक और भी ले आ, उस ने उस से कहा, और बरतन तो नहीं रहा। तब तेल थम गया।

6. She filled many bowls. Finally, she said to her son, 'Bring me another bowl.' But all of the bowls were full. One of the sons said to her, 'There aren't any more bowls.' Then the oil in the jar was finished!

7. तब उस ने जाकर परमेश्वर के भक्त को यह बता दिया। ओर उस ने कहा, जा तेल बेचकर ऋण भर दे; और जो रह जाए, उस से तू अपने पुत्रों सहित अपना निर्वाह करना।

7. When she told the man of God what had happened, Elisha said to her, 'Go, sell the oil and pay your debt. You and your sons can live on the money that is left.'

8. फिर एक दिन की बात है कि एलीशा शूनेम को गया, जहां एक कुलीन स्त्री थी, और उस ने उसे रोटी खाने के लिये बिनती करके विवश किया। और जब जब वह उधर से जाता, तब तब वह वहां रोटी खाने को उतरता था।

8. One day Elisha went to Shunem, where an important woman lived. She asked Elisha to stop and eat at her house. So every time Elisha went through that place, he stopped there to eat.

9. और उस स्त्री ने अपने पति से कहा, सुन यह जो बार बार हमारे यहां से होकर जाया करता है वह मुझे परमेश्वर का कोई पवित्रा भक्त जान पड़ता है।

9. The woman said to her husband, 'Look, I can see that Elisha is a holy man of God. He passes by our house all the time.

10. तो हम भीत पर एक छोटी उपरौठी कोठरी बनाएं, और उस में उसके लिये एक खाट, एक मेज, एक कुस और एक दीवट रखें, कि जब जब वह हमारे यहां आए, तब तब उसी में टिका करे।

10. Please, let's make a little room on the roof for him. Let's put a bed in this room and a table, a chair, and a lampstand. Then when he comes to our house, he can have this room for himself.'

11. एक दिन की बात है, कि वह वहां जाकर उस उपरौठी कोठरी में टिका और उसी में लेट गया।

11. One day Elisha came to the woman's house. He went to this room and rested there.

12. और उस ने अपने सेवक गेहजी से कहा, उस शुनेमिन को बुला ले। उसके बुलाने से वह उसके साम्हने खड़ी हुई।

12. Elisha said to his servant Gehazi, 'Call this Shunammite woman.' The servant called the Shunammite woman, and she stood in front of Elisha.

13. तब उस ने गेहजी से कहा, इस से कह, कि तू ने हमारे लिये ऐसी बड़ी चिन्ता की है, तो तेरे लिये क्या किया जाए? क्या तेरी चर्चा राजा, वा प्रधान सेनापति से की जाए? उस ने उत्तर दिया मैं तो अपने ही लोगों में रहती हूँ।

13. Elisha told his servant, 'Now say to her, 'Look, you have done your best to take care of us. What can we do for you? Do you want us to speak to the king for you, or to the captain of the army?'' She answered, 'I am fine living here among my own people.'

14. फिर उस ने कहा, तो इसके लिये क्या किया जाए? गेहजी ने उत्तर दिया, निश्चय उसके कोई लड़का नहीं, और उसका पति बूढ़ा है।

14. Elisha said to Gehazi, 'What can we do for her?' He answered, 'I know! She does not have a son, and her husband is old.'

15. उस ने कहा, उसको बुला ले। और जब उस ने उसे बुलाया, तब वह द्वार में खड़ी हुई।

15. Then Elisha said, 'Call her.' So Gehazi called the woman. She came and stood at his door.

16. तब उस ने कहा, बसन्त ऋतु में दिन पूरे होने पर तू एक बेटा छाती से लगाएगी। स्त्री ने कहा, हे मेरे प्रभु ! हे परमेश्वर के भक्त ऐसा नहीं, अपनी दासी को धोखा न दे।

16. Elisha said, 'About this time next spring, you will be holding your own baby boy in your arms.' The woman said, 'No, sir! Man of God, don't lie to me!'

17. और स्त्री को गर्भ रहा, और वसन्त ऋतु का जो समय एलीशा ने उस से कहा था, उसी समय जब दिन पूरे हुए, तब उसके पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुआ।

17. But the woman did become pregnant and gave birth to a son that next spring, just as Elisha had said.

18. और जब लड़का बड़ा हो गया, तब एक दिन वह अपने पिता के पास लवनेवालों के निकट निकल गया।

18. The boy grew. One day the boy went out into the fields to see his father and the men cutting the grain.

19. और उस ने अपने पिता से कहा, आह ! मेरा सिर, आह ! मेरा सिर। तब पिता ने अपने सेवक से कहा, इसको इसकी माता के पास ले जा।

19. The boy said to his father, 'Oh, my head! My head hurts!' The father said to his servant, 'Carry him to his mother!'

20. वह उसे उठाकर उसकी माता के पास ले गया, फिर वह दोपहर तक उसके घुटनों पर बैठा रहा, तब मर गया।

20. The servant took the boy to his mother. The boy sat on his mother's lap until noon. Then he died.

21. तब उस ने चढ़कर उसको परमेश्वर के भक्त की खाट पर लिटा दिया, और निकलकर किवाड़ बन्द किया, तब उतर गई।

21. The woman laid the boy on the bed of Elisha, the man of God. Then she shut the door to that room and went outside.

22. और उस ने अपने पति से पुकारकर कहा, मेरे पास एक सेवक और एक गदही तुरन्त भेज दे कि मैं परमेश्वर के भक्त के यहां झट पट हो आऊं।

22. She called to her husband and said, 'Please send me one of the servants and a donkey. Then I will go quickly to get the man of God and come back.'

23. उस ने कहा, आज तू उसके यहां क्यों जाएगी? आज न तो नये चांद का, और न विश्राम का दिन है; उस ने कहा, कल्याण होगा।

23. The woman's husband said, 'Why would you want to go to the man of God today? It isn't the New Moon or Sabbath day.' She said, 'Goodbye!'

24. तब उस स्त्री ने गदही पर काठी बान्ध कर अपने सेवक से कहा, हांके चल; और मेरे कहे बिना हांकने में ढिलाई न करना।

24. Then she put a saddle on a donkey and said to her servant, 'Let's go, and hurry! Go slow only when I tell you.'

25. तो वह चलते चलते कर्मेल पर्वत को परमेश्वर के भक्त के निकट पहुंची। उसे दूर से देखकर परमेश्वर के भक्त ने अपने सेवक गेहजी से कहा, देख, उधर तो वह शूनेमिन है।
इब्रानियों 11:35

25. The woman went to Mount Carmel to get the man of God. The man of God saw the Shunammite woman coming from far away and said to his servant Gehazi, 'Look, there's the Shunammite woman!

26. अब उस से मिलने को दौड़ जा, और उस से पूछ, कि तू कुशल से है? तेरा पति भी कुशल से है? और लड़का भी कुशल से है? पूछने पर स्त्री ने उत्तर दिया, हां, कुशल से हैं।

26. Please run now to meet her! Say to her, 'Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is the child all right?'' She answered, 'Everything is all right.'

27. वह पहाड़ पर परमेश्वर के भक्त के पास पहुंची, और उसके पांव पकड़ने लगी, तब गेहजी उसके पास गया, कि उसे धक्का देकर हटाए, परन्तु परमेश्वर के भक्त ने कहा, उसे छोड़ दे, उसका मन रयाकुल है; परन्तु यहोवा ने मुझ को नहीं बताया, छिपा ही रखा है।

27. But the Shunammite woman went up the hill to the man of God. She bowed down and touched Elisha's feet. Gehazi came near to pull her away. But the man of God said to Gehazi, 'Leave her alone! She's very upset, and the Lord didn't tell me about it. The Lord hid this news from me.'

28. तब वह कहने लगी, क्या मैं ने अपने प्रभु से पुत्रा का वर मांगा था? क्या मैं ने न कहा था मुझे धोखा न दे?

28. Then she said, 'Sir, I never asked for a son. I told you, 'Don't trick me'!'

29. तब एलीशा ने गेहजी से कहा, अपनी कमर बान्ध, और मेरी छड़ी हाथ में लेकर चला जा, मार्ग में यदि कोई तुझे मिले तो उसका कुशल न पूछना, और कोई तेरा कुशल पूछे, तो उसको उत्तर न देना, और मेरी यह छड़ी उस लड़के के मुंह पर धर देना।

29. Then Elisha said to Gehazi, 'Get ready to go. Take my walking stick and go! If you meet anyone along the way, don't even stop to say hello to him. If anyone says hello to you, don't answer. Put my walking stick on the child's face.'

30. तब लड़के की मां ने एलीशा से कहा, यहोवा के और तेरे जीवन की शपथ मैं तुझे न छोड़ूंगी। तो वह उठकर उसके पीछे पीछे चला।

30. But the child's mother said, 'I promise, as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave without you!' So Elisha got up and followed her.

31. उन से पहिले पहुंचकर गेहजी ने छड़ी को उस लड़के के मुंह पर रखा, परन्तु कोई शब्द न सुन पड़ा, और न उस ने कान लगाया, तब वह एलीशा से मिलने को लौट आया, और उसको बतलादिया दिया, कि लड़का नहीं जागा।

31. Gehazi arrived at the house before Elisha and the Shunammite woman. Gehazi laid the walking stick on the child's face, but the child did not talk or show any sign that he heard anything. Then Gehazi came back to meet Elisha and said, 'The child will not wake up!'

32. जब एलीशा घर में आया, तब क्या देखा, कि लड़का मरा हुआ उसकी खाट पर पड़ा है।

32. Elisha went into the house, and there was the child, lying dead on his bed.

33. तब उस ने अकेला भीतर जाकर किवाड़ बन्द किया, और यहोवा से प्रार्थना की।
मत्ती 6:6

33. Elisha went into the room and shut the door. He and the child were alone in the room now. Then he prayed to the Lord.

34. तब वह चढ़कर लड़के पर इस रीति से लेट गया कि अपना मुंह उसके मुंह से और अपनी आंखें उसकी आंखों से और अपने हाथ उसके हाथों से मिला दिये और वह लड़के पर पसर गया, तब लड़के की देह गर्म होने लगी।

34. Elisha went to the bed and lay on the child. He put his eyes on the child's eyes, his mouth on the child's mouth, his hands on the child's hands. He lay there on top of the child until the child's body became warm.

35. और वह उसे छोड़कर घर में इधर उधर टहलने लगा, और फिर चढ़कर लड़के पर पसर गया; तब लड़के ने सात बार छींका, और अपनी आंखें खोलीं।

35. Then Elisha turned away and walked around the room. He went back and lay on the child until the child sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.

36. तब एलीशा ने गेहजी को बुलाकर कहा, शूनेमिन को बुला ले। जब उसके बुलाने से वह उसके पास आई, तब उस ने कहा, अपने बेटे को उठा ले।
लूका 7:15

36. Elisha called Gehazi and said, 'Call the Shunammite woman!' Gehazi called her, and she came to Elisha. Elisha said, 'Pick up your son.'

37. वह भीतर बई, और उसके पावों पर गिर भूमि तक झुककर दणडवत किया; फिर अपने बेटे को उठाकर निकल गई।

37. Then the Shunammite woman went into the room and bowed down at Elisha's feet. Then she picked up her son and went out.

38. तब एलीशा गिलगाल को लौट गया। उस समय देश में अकाल था, और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेले उसके साम्हने बैटे हुए थे, और उस ने अपने सेवक से कहा, हण्डा चढ़ाकर भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेलों के लिये कुछ पका।

38. Elisha went to Gilgal again. There was a famine in the land. The group of prophets was sitting in front of Elisha. Elisha said to his servant, 'Put the large pot on the fire, and make some soup for the group of prophets.'

39. तब कोई मैदान में साग तोड़ने गया, और कोई जंगली लता पाकर अपनी अंकवार भर इन्द्रायण तोड़ ले आया, और फांक फांक करके पकने के लिये हण्डे में डाल दिया, और वे उसको न पहिचानते थे।

39. One man went out into the field to gather herbs. He found a wild vine and picked the fruit from it. He put that fruit in his robe and brought it back. He cut up the wild fruit and put it into the pot. But the group of prophets did not know what kind of fruit it was.

40. तब उन्हों ने उन मनुष्यों के खाने के लिये हण्डे में से परोसा। खाते समय वे चिल्लाकर बोल उठे, हे परमेश्वर के भक्त हण्डे में माहुर है, और वे उस में से खा न सके।

40. Then they poured some of the soup for the men to eat. But when they began to eat the soup, they shouted out, 'Man of God! There's poison in the pot!' The food tasted like poison, so they could not eat that food.

41. तब एलीशा ने कहा, अच्छा, कुछ मैदा ले आओ, तब उस ने उसे हण्डे में डाल कर कहा, उन लोगों के खाने के लिये परोस दे, फिर हण्डे में कुछ हानि की वस्तु न रही।

41. But Elisha said, 'Bring some flour.' He threw the flour into the pot. Then he said, 'Pour the soup for the people so that they can eat.' And there was nothing wrong with the soup.

42. और कोई पतुष्य बालशालीशा से , पहिले उपजे हुए जव की बीस रोटियां, और अपनी बोरी में हरी बालें परमेश्वर के भक्त के पास ले आया; तो एलीशा ने कहा, उन लोगों को खाने के लिये दे।

42. A man from Baal Shalishah came and brought bread from the first harvest to the man of God. This man brought 20 loaves of barley bread and fresh grain in his sack. Then Elisha said, 'Give this food to the people, so that they can eat.'

43. उसके टहलुए ने कहा, क्या मैं सौ मनुष्यों के साम्हने इतना ही रख दूं? उस ने कहा, लोगों को दे दे कि खएं, क्योंकि यहोवा यों कहता है, उनके खाने के बाद कुछ बच भी जाएगा।
मत्ती 14:20

43. Elisha's servant said, 'What? There are 100 men here. How can I give this food to all those men?' But Elisha said, 'Give the food to the people to eat. The Lord says, 'They will eat and there will still be food left over.''

44. तब उस ने उनके आगे धर दिया, और यहोवा के वचन के अनुसार उनके खाने के बाद कुछ बच भी गया।

44. Then Elisha's servant put the food in front of the group of prophets. The group of prophets had enough to eat, and they even had food left over. This happened just as the Lord had said.
