1. रमल्याह के पुत्रा पेकह के सत्राहवें वर्ष में यहूदा के राजा योताम का पुत्रा आहाज राज्य करने लगा।

1. In the year seventeen of Pekah, the son of Remaliah, Ahaz, the son of Jotham, king of Judah, began to reign.

2. जब आहाज राज्य करने लगा, तब वह बीस पर्ष का था, और सोलह वर्ष तक यरूशलेम में राज्य करता रहा। और उस ने अपने मूलपुरूष दाऊद का सा काम नहीं किया, जो उसके परमेश्वर यहोवा की दृष्टि में ठीक था।

2. Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem and did not do [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD his God like David, his father.

3. परन्तु वह इस्राएल के राजाओं की सी चाल चला, वरन उन जातियों के घिनौने कामों के अनुसार, जिन्हें यहोवा ने इस्राएलियों के साम्हने से देश से निकाल दिया था, उस ने अपने बेटे को भी आग में होम कर दिया।

3. But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel and even made his son pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the Gentiles, whom the LORD cast out from before the sons of Israel.

4. और ऊंचे स्थानों पर, और पहाड़ियों पर, और सब हरे वृक्षों के तले, वह बलि चढ़ाया और धूम जलाया करता था।

4. Likewise he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.

5. तब अराम के राजा रसीन, और रमल्याह के पुत्रा इस्राएल के राजा पेकह ने लड़ने के लिये यरूशलेम पर चढ़ाई की, और उन्हों ने आहाज को घेर लिया, परन्तु युठ्ठ करके उन से कुछ बन न पड़ा।

5. Then Rezin, king of Syria, and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to war; and they besieged Ahaz but could not overcome [him].

6. उस समय अराम के राजा रसीन ने, एलत को अराम के वश में करके, यहूदियों को वहां से निकाल दिया; तब अरामी लोग एलत को गए, और आज के दिन तक वहां रहते हैं।

6. At that time Rezin, king of Syria, recovered Elath to Syria and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath and dwelt there unto this day.

7. और आहाज ने दूत भेजकर अश्शूर के राजा तिग्लत्पिलेसेर के पास कहला भेजा कि मुझे अपना दास, वरन बेटा जानकर चढ़ाई कर, और मुझे अराम के राजा और इस्राएल के राजा के हाथ से बचा जो मेरे विरूद्ध उठे हैं।

7. So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser, king of Assyria, saying, I [am] thy servant and thy son; come up and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who have risen up against me.

8. और आहाज ने यहोवा के भवन में और राजभवन के भणडारों में जितना सोना- चान्दी मिला उसे अश्शूर के राजा के पास भेंट करके भेज दिया।

8. And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD and in the treasury of the king's house and sent [it for] a bribe to the king of Assyria.

9. उसकी मानकर अश्शूर के राजा ने दमिश्क पर चढ़ाई की, और उसे लेकर उसके लोगों को बन्धुआ करके, कीर को ले गया, और रसीन को मार डाला।

9. And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him, for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and took it and carried [the people of] it captive to Kir and slew Rezin.

10. तब राजा आहाज अश्शूर के राजा तिग्लत्पिलेसेर से भेंट करने के लिये दमिश्क को गया, और वहां की वेदी देखकर उसकी सब बनावट के अनुसार उसका नकशा ऊरिरयाह याजक के पास नमूना करके भेज दिया।

10. And King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser, King of Assyria, and saw the altar that [was] at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah, the priest, the fashion of the altar and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship of it.

11. और ठीक इसी नमूने के अनुसार जिसे राजा आहाज ने दमिश्क से भेजा था, ऊरिरयाह याजक ने राजा आहाज के दमिश्क से आने तक एक वेदी बना दी।

11. And Urijah, the priest, built an altar according to all that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus; so Urijah, the priest, made [it] while King Ahaz returned from Damascus.

12. जब राजा दमिश्क से आया तब उस ने उस वेदी को देखा, और उसके निकट जाकर उस पर बलि चढ़ाए।

12. And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king came near to the altar and offered upon it.

13. उसी वेदी पर उस ने अपना होमबलि और अन्नबलि जलौया, और अर्ध दिया और मेलबलियों का लोहू छिड़क दिया।

13. And he burnt his burnt offering and his present and poured his drink offering and sprinkled the blood of his peace [offerings], next to the altar.

14. और पीतल की जो वेदी यहोवा के साम्हने रहती थी उसको उस ने भवन के साम्हने से अर्थात् अपनी वेदी और यहोवा के भवन के बीच से हटाकर, उस वेदी की उतर ओर रख दिया।

14. And the brasen altar which [had been] before the LORD, he cause to be moved in front of the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and he put it beside the altar towards the Aquilon.

15. तब राजा आहाज ने ऊरिरयाह याजक को यह आज्ञा दी, कि भोर के होपबलि और सांझ के अन्नबलि, राजा के होमबलि और उसके अन्नबलि, और सब साधारण लोगों के होमबलि और अर्ध बड़ी वेदी पर चढ़ाया कर, और होमबलियों और मेलबलियों का सब लोहू उस पर छिड़क; और पीतल की वेदी के विषय मैं विचार करूंगा।

15. And King Ahaz commanded Urijah, the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening present and the king's burnt sacrifice and his present, and likewise the burnt offering of all the people of the land and their present and their drink offerings, and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice; and the brasen altar shall be mine to enquire [by].

16. राजा आहाज की इस आज्ञा के अनुसार ऊरिरयाह याजक ने किया।

16. Thus did Urijah, the priest, according to all that King Ahaz commanded him.

17. फिर राजा आहाज ने कुर्सियों की पटरियों को काट डाला, और हौदियों को उन पर से उतार दिया, और बड़े हौद को उन पीतल के बैलों पर से जो उसके तले थे उतारकर, पत्थरों के फर्श पर धर दिया।

17. And King Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases and removed the lavers from off them and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that [were] under it and put it upon a pavement of stones.

18. और विश्राम के दिन के लिये जो छाया हुआ स्थान भवन में बना था, और राजा के बाहर के प्रवेश करने का फाटक, उनको उस ने अश्शूर के राजा के कारण यहोवा के भवन से अलग कर दिया।

18. And the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house and the king's entry outside, he moved behind the house of the LORD, for the sake of the king of Assyria.

19. आहाज के और काम जो उस ने किए, वे क्या यहूदा के राजाओं के इतिहास की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखे हैं?

19. Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20. निदान आहाज अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो गया और उसे उसके पुरखाओं के बीच दाऊदपुर में मिट्टी दी गई, और उसका पुत्रा हिजकिरयाह उसके स्थान पर राज्य करने लगा।

20. And Ahaz slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his stead.:
