1. और तिशबी एलिरयाह जो गिलाद के पर :सियों में से था उस ने अहाब से कहा, इस्राएल का परमेश्वा यहोवा जिसके सम्मुख मैं उपस्थ्ति रहता हूँ, उसके जीवन की शपथ इन वष में मेरे बिना कहे, न तो मेंह बरसेगा, और न ओस पड़ेगी।

1. And EliYah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As YHWH Elohim of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

2. तब यहोवा का यह वचन उसके पास पहुंचा,

2. And the word of YHWH came unto him, saying,

3. कि यहां से चलकर पूरब ओर मुख करके करीत नाम नाले पें जो यरदन के साम्हने है छिप जा।

3. Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

4. उसी नाले का पानी तू पिया कर, और मैं ने कौवों को आज्ञा दी है कि वे तूझे वहां खिलाएं।

4. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

5. यहोवा का यह वचन मानकर वह यरदन के साम्हने के करीत नाम नाले में जाकर छिपा रहा।

5. So he went and did according unto the word of YHWH: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

6. और सबेरे और सांझ को कौवे उसके पास रोटी और मांस लाया करते थे और वह नाले का पानी पिया करता था।

6. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

7. कुछ दिनों के बाद उस देश में वर्षा न होने के कारण नाला सूख गया।

7. And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

8. तब यहोवा का यह वचन उसके पास पहुंचा,

8. And the word of YHWH came unto him, saying,

9. कि चलकर सीदोन के सारपत नगर में जाकर वहीं रह : सुन, मैं ने वहां की एक विधवा को तेरे खिलाने की आज्ञा दी है।
लूका 4:26, मत्ती 10:41

9. Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10. सो वह वहां से चल दिया, और सारपत को गया; नगर के फाटक के पास पहुंचकर उस ने क्या देखा कि, एक विधवा लकड़ी बीन रही है, उसको बुलाकर उस ने कहा, किसी पात्रा में मेरे पीने को थोड़ा पानी ले आ।

10. So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11. जब वह लेने जा रही थी, तो उस ने उसे पुकार के कहा अपने हाथ में एक टुकड़ा रोटी भी मेरे पास लेती आ।

11. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12. उस ने कहा, तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा के जीवन की शपथ मेरे पास एक भी रोटी नहीं है केवल घड़े में मुट्ठी भर मैदा और कुप्पी में थोड़ा सा तेल है, और मैं दो एक लकड़ी बीनकर लिए जाती हूँ कि अपने और अपने बेटे के लिये उसे पकाऊं, और हम उसे खाएं, फिर मर जाएं।

12. And she said, As YHWH thy Elohim liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13. एलिरयाह ने उस से कहा, मत डर; जाकर अपनी बात के अनुसार कर, परन्तु पहिले मेरे लिये एक छोटी सी रोटी बनाकर मेरे पास ले आ, फिर इसके बाद अपने और अपने बेटे के लिये बनाना।

13. And EliYah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14. क्योंकि इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, कि जब तक यहोवा भूमि पर मेंह न बरसाएगा तब तक न तो उस घड़े का मैदा चुकेगा, और न उस कुप्पी का तेल घटेगा।

14. For thus saith YHWH Elohim of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that YHWH sendeth rain upon the earth.

15. तब वह चली गई, और एलिरयाह के वचन के अनुसार किया, तब से वह और स्त्री और उसका घराना बहुत दिन तक खाते रहे।

15. And she went and did according to the saying of EliYah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16. यहोवा के उस वचन के अनुसार जो उस ने एलिरयाह के द्वारा कहा था, न तो उस घड़े का मैदा चुका, और न उस कुप्पी का तेल घट गया।

16. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of YHWH, which he spake by EliYah.

17. इन बातों के बाद उस स्त्री का बेटा जो घर की स्वामिनी थी, रोगी हुआ, और उसका रोग यहां तक बढ़ा कि उसका सांस लेना बन्द हो गया।

17. And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

18. तब वह एलिरयाह से कहने लगी, हे परमेश्वर के जन ! मेरा तुझ से क्या काम? क्या तू इसलिये मेरे यहां आया है कि मेरे बेटे की मृत्यु का कारण हो और मेरे पाप का स्मरण दिलाए ?
मत्ती 8:29, मरकुस 5:7

18. And she said unto EliYah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of Elohim? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

19. उस ने उस से कहा अपना बेटा मुझे दे; तब वह उसे उसकी गोद से लेकर उस अटारी पर ले गया जहां वह स्वयं रहता था, और अपनी खाट पर लिटा दिया।

19. And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

20. तब उस ने यहोवा को पुकारकर कहा, हे मेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ! क्या तू इस विधवा का बेटा मार डालकर जिसके यहां मैं टिका हूं, इस पर भी विपत्ति ले आया है?

20. And he cried unto YHWH, and said, O YHWH my Elohim, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

21. तब वह बालक पर तीन बार पसर गया और यहोवा को पुकारकर कहा, हे मेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ! इस बालक का प्राण इस में फिर डाल दे।
प्रेरितों के काम 20:10

21. And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto YHWH, and said, O YHWH my Elohim, I pray thee, let this childs soul come into him again.

22. एलिरयाह की यह बात यहोवा ने सुन ली, और बालक का प्राण उस में फिर आ गया और वह जी उठा।

22. And YHWH heard the voice of EliYah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

23. तब एलिरयाह बालक को अटारी पर से नीचे घर में ले गया, और एलिरयाह ने यह कहकर उसकी माता के हाथ में सौंप दिया, कि देख तेरा बेटा जीवित है।
लूका 7:15

23. And EliYah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and EliYah said, See, thy son liveth.

24. स्त्री ने एलिरयाह से कहा, अब मुझे निश्चय हो गया है कि तू परमेश्वर का जन है, और यहोवा का जो वचन तेरे मुंह से निकलता है, वह सच होता है।

24. And the woman said to EliYah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of Elohim, and that the word of YHWH in thy mouth is truth.
