1. रहूबियाम तो शकेम को गया, क्योंकि सब इस्राएली उसको राजा बनाने के लिये वहीं गए थे।

1. Forsothe Roboam cam in to Sichem; for al Israel was gaderid thidur to make hym kyng.

2. और जब नबात के पुत्रा यारोबाम ने यह सुना, ( जो अब तक मिस्र में रहता था, थ्योंकि यारोबाम सुलैमान राजा के डर के मारे भगकर मिस्र में रहता था।

2. `And sotheli Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, whanne he was yit in Egipt, and fledde fro the face of kyng Salomon, turnede ayen fro Egipt, for the deeth of Salomon was herd;

3. सो उन लोगों ने उसको बुलवा भेजा ) तब यारोबाम और इस्राएल की समस्त सभा रहूबियाम के पास जाकर यों कहने लगी,

3. and thei senten, and clepiden hym. Therfor Jeroboam cam, and al the multitude of Israel, and thei spaken to Roboam,

4. कि तेरे पिता ने तो हम लोगों पर भारी जूआ डाल रखा था, तो अब तू अपने पिता की कठिन सेवा को, और उस भारी जूए को, जो उस ने हम पर डाल रखा है, कुछ हलका कर; तब हम तेरे अधीन रहेंगे।

4. and seiden, Thi fadir puttide hardeste yok on vs, therfor abate thou a litil now of the hardest comaundement of thi fadir, and of the greuousiste yok which he puttide on vs, and we schulen serue to thee.

5. उस ने कहा, उभी तो जाओ, और तीन दिन के बाद मेरे पास फिर आना। तब वे चले गए।

5. Which Roboam seide to hem, Go ye `til to the thridde dai, and turne ye ayen to me.

6. तब राजा रहूबियाम ने उन बूढ़ों से जो उसके पिता सुलैमान के जीवन भर उसके साम्हने उपस्थित रहा करते थे सम्मति ली, कि इस प्रजा को कैसा उत्तर देना उचित है, इस में तुम क्या सम्मति देते हो?

6. And whanne the puple hadde go, kyng Roboam took counsel with the eldere men, that stoden bifor Salomon, his fadir, while he lyuyde yit; and Roboam seide, What counsel yyue ye to me, that Y answere to the puple?

7. उन्हों ने उसको यह उत्तर दिया, कि यदि तू अभी प्रजा के लोगों का दास बनकर उनके अधीन हो और उन से मधुर बातें कहे, तो वे सदैव तेरे अधीन बने रहेंगे।

7. Whiche seiden to hym, If thou obeiest to dai to this puple, and seruest this puple, and yyuest stide to her axyng, and spekist to hem liyte wordis, thei schulen be seruauntis to thee in alle daies.

8. रहूबियाम ने उस सम्मति को छोड़ दिया, जो बूढ़ों ने उसको दी थी,और उन जवानों से सम्मति ली, जो उसके संग बड़े हुए थे, और उसके सम्मुख उपस्थित रहा करते थे।

8. Which Roboam forsook the counsel of elde men, which thei yauen to hym, and took yonge men, that weren nurschid with hym, and stoden nyy him;

9. उन से उस ने पूछा, मैं प्रजा के लोगों को कैसा उत्तर दूं? उस में तुम क्या सम्मति देते हो? उन्हो ने तो मुझ से कहा है, कि जो जूआ तेरे पिता ने हम पर डाल रखा है, उसे तू हलका कर।

9. and he seide to hem, What counsel yyue ye to me, that Y answere to this puple, that seiden to me, Make thou esyere the yok which thi fadir puttide on vs?

10. जवानों ने जो उसके संग बड़े हुए थे उसको यह उत्तर दिया, कि उन लोगों ने तुझ से कहा है, कि तेरे पिता ने हमारा जूआ भारी किया था, परन्तु तू उसे हमारे लिऐ हलका कर; तू उन से यों कहना, कि मेरी छिंगुलिया मेरे पिता की कमर से भी मोटी है।

10. And the yonge men, that weren nurschid with hym, seiden to hym, Thus speke thou to this puple, that spaken to thee, and seiden, Thi fadir made greuouse oure yok, releeue thou vs; thus thou schalt speke to hem, My leest fyngur is grettere than the bak of my fader;

11. मेरे पिता ने तुम पर जो भारी जूआ रखा था, उसे मैं और भी भारी करूंगा; मेरा पिता तो तुम को कोड़ों से ताड़ना देता था, परन्तु मैं बिच्छुओं से दूंगा।

11. and now my fadir puttide on you a greuouse yok, forsothe Y schal adde on youre yok; my fadir beet you with scourgis, forsothe Y schal bete you with scorpiouns.

12. तीसरे दिन, जैसे राजा ने ठहराया था, कि तीसरे दिन मेरे पास फिर आना, वैसे ही यारोबाम और समस्त प्रजागण रहूबियाम के पास उपस्थित हुए।

12. Therfor Jeroboam, and al the puple, cam to Roboam, in the thridde dai, as the kyng spak, seiynge, Turne ye ayen to me in the thridde dai.

13. तब राजा ने प्रजा से कड़ी बातें कीं,

13. And the kyng answeride harde thingis to the puple, while the counsel of eldere men was forsakun, which thei hadden youe to hym;

14. और बूढ़ों की दी हुई सम्मति छोड़कर, जवानों की सम्मति के अनुसार उन से कहा, कि मेरे पिता ने तो तुम्हारा जूआ भारी कर दिया, परन्तु मैं उसे और भी भारी कर दूंगा : मेरे पिता ने तो कोड़ों से तुम को ताड़ना दी, परन्तु मैं तुम को बिच्छुओं से ताड़ना दूंगा।

14. and he spak to hem bi the counsel of yonge men, and seide, My fadir made greuouse youre yok, forsothe Y schal adde to youre yok; my fadir beet you with scourgis, forsothe Y schal bete you with scorpiouns.

15. सो राजा ने प्रजा की बान नहीं मानी, इसका कारण यह है, कि जो वचन यहोवा ने शीलोवासी अहिरयाह के द्वारा नबात के पुत्रा यारोबाम से कहा था, उसको पूरा करने के लिये उस ने ऐसा ही ठहराया था।

15. And the kyng assentide not to the puple, for the Lord hadde turned awey, `ether hadde wlatid hym, that the Lord schulde reise his word, which he hadde spoke in the hond of Ahias of Silo to Jeroboam, sone of Nabath.

16. जब सब इस्राएल ने देखा कि राजा हमारी नहीं सुनता, तब वे बोले, कि दाऊद के साथ हमारा क्या अंश? हमारा तो यिशै के पुत्रा में कोई भाग नहीं ! हे इस्राएल अपने अपने डेरे को चले जाओ : अब हे दाऊद, अपने ही घराने की चिन्ता कर।

16. Therfor the puple siy, that the kyng nolde here hem; and the puple answeride to the kyng, and seide, What part is to vs in Dauid, ether what eritage in the sone of Ysay? Israel, turne thou ayen in to thi tabernaclis; now, Dauid, se thou thin hows. And Israel yede in to hise tabernaclis.

17. सो इस्राएल अपने अपने डेरे को चले गए। केवल जितने इस्राएली यहूदा के नगरों में बसे हुए थे उन पर रहूबियाम राज्य करता रहा।

17. Forsothe Roboam regnede on the sones of Israel, whiche euere dwelliden in the citees of Juda.

18. तब राजा रहूबियाम ने अदोराम को जो सब बेगारों पर अधिकारी था, भेज दिया, और सब इस्राएलियों ने असको पत्थ्रवाह किया, और वह मर गया : तब रहूबियाम फुत से अपने रथ पर चढ़कर यरूशलेम को भाग गया।

18. Therfore kyng Roboam sente Adhuram, that was on the tributis; and al the puple of Israel stonyde hym, and he was deed.

19. और इस्राएल दाऊद के घराने से फिर गया, और आज तक फिरा जुआ है।

19. Forsothe kyng Roboam stiede hastili on the chare, and fledde in to Jerusalem; and Israel departide fro the hows of Dauid, til in to present dai.

20. यह सुनकर कि यारोबाम लौट आया है, समस्त इस्राएल ने उसको मणडली में बुलवा भेजकर, पूर्ण इस्राएल के ऊपर राजा नियुक्त किया, और यहूदा के गोत्रा को छोड़कर दाऊद के घाराने से कोई मिला न रहा।

20. Forsothe it was doon, whanne al Israel hadde herd that Jeroboam turnede ayen, thei senten, and clepiden hym, whanne the cumpany was gaderid togidere, and thei maden hym kyng on al Israel; and no man suede the hows of Dauid, outakun the lynage aloone of Juda.

21. जब रइूबियाम यरूशलेम को आया, तब उस ने यहूदा के पूर्ण घराने को, और बिन्यामीन के गोत्रा को, जो मिलकर एक लाख अस्सी हजार अच्छे योठ्ठा थे, इकट्ठा किया, कि वे इस्राएल के घराने के साथ लड़कर सुलैमान के पुत्रा रहूबियाम के वश में फिर राज्य कर दें।

21. Forsothe Roboam cam to Jerusalem, and gaderide al the hows of Juda, and the lynage of Beniamyn, an hundrid and fourescore thousynde of chosun men and weriours, that thei schulden fiyte ayens the hows of Israel, and schulden brynge ayen the rewme to Roboam, sone of Solomon.

22. तब परमेश्वन का यह वचन परमेश्वर के जन शमायाह के पास पहुंचा कि यहूदा के राजा सुलैमान के पु,ा रहूबियाम से,

22. Forsothe the word of God was made to Semeia, the man of God, and seide,

23. और यहूदा और बिन्यामीन के सब घराने से, और सब लोगों से कह, यहोवा यों कहता है,

23. Speke thou to Roboam, sone of Salomon, the kyng of Juda, and to al the hows of Juda and of Beniamyn, and to the residue of the puple, and seie thou, The Lord seith thes thingis,

24. कि अपने भाई इस्राएलियों पर चढ़ाई करके युठ्ठ न करो; तुम अपने अपने घर लौट जाओ, क्योंकि यह बात मेरी ही ओर से हुई है। यहोवा का यह वचन मानकर उन्हों ने उसके अनुसार लौट जाने को अपना अपना मार्ग लिया।

24. Ye schulen not stie, nether ye schulen fiyte ayens youre britheren, the sones of Israel; `a man turne ayen in to his hows, for this word is doon of me. Thei herden the word of the Lord, and thei turneden ayen fro the iurney, as the Lord comaundide to hem.

25. तब यारोबाम एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश के शकेम नगर को दृढ़ करके उस में रहने लगा; फिर वहांसे निकलकर पनूएल को भी दृढ़ किया।

25. Forsothe Jeroboam bildide Sichem, in the hil of Effraym, and dwellide there; and he yede out fro thennus, and bildide Phanuel.

26. तब यारोबाम सोचने लगा, कि अब राज्य दाऊद के घराने का हो जाएगा।

26. And Jeroboam seide in his herte, Now the rewme schal turne ayen to the hows of Dauid,

27. यदि प्रजा के लोग यरूशलेम में बलि करने को जाएं, तो उनका मन अपने स्वामी यहूदा के राजा रहूगियाम की ओर फिरेगा, और वे मुझे घात करके यहूदा के राजा रहूबियाम के हो जाएंगे।

27. if this puple stieth to Jerusalem, that it make sacrifices in the hows of the Lord in Jerusalem; and the herte of this puple schal turne to her lord, Roboam, kyng of Juda; and thei schulen sle me, and schulen turne ayen to hym.

28. तो राजा ने सम्मति लेकर सोने के दो बछड़े बनाए और लोगों से कहा, यरूशलेम को जाना तुम्हारी शक्ति से बाहर है इसलिये हे इस्राएल अपने देवताओं को देखो, जो नुम्हें मिस्र देश से दिकाल लाए हैं।

28. And by counsel thouyt out, he made tweyne goldun caluys, and seide to hem, Nyle ye stie more in to Jerusalem; Israel, lo! thi goddis, that ledden thee out of the lond of Egipt.

29. तो उस ने एक बछड़े को बेतेल, और दूसरे को दान में स्थपित किया।

29. And he settide oon in Bethel, and the tother in Dan.

30. और यह बात पाप का कारण हुई; क्योंकि लोग उस एक के साम्हने दणडवत करने को दान तक जाने लगे।

30. And this word was maad to Israel in to synne; for the puple yede til in to Dan, to worschipe the calf.

31. और उस ने ऊंचे स्थानों के भवन बनाए, और सब प्रकार के लोगों में से जो लेवीवंशी न थे, याजक ठहराए।

31. And Jeroboam made templis in hiye placis, and `he made preestis of the laste men of the puple, that weren not of the sones of Leuy.

32. फिर यारोबाम ने आठवें महीने के पन्द्रहवें दिन यहूदा के पर्व के समान एक पर्व इहरा दिया, और वेदी पर बलि चढ़ाने लगा; इस रीति उस ने बेतेल में अपने बनाए हुए बछड़ों के लिये वेदी पर, बलि किया, और अपने बनाए हुए ऊंचे स्थनों के याजकों को बेतेल में ठहरा दिया।

32. And he ordeynede a solempne dai in the eiythe monethe, in the fiftenthe dai of the monethe, bi the licnesse of solempnyte which was halewid in Juda. And he stiede, and made in lijk maner an auter in Bethel, that he schulde offre to the calues, whiche he hadde maad; and he ordeynede in Bethel preestis of the hiye places, whiche he hadde maad.

33. और जिस महीने की उस ने अपने मन में कल्पना की थी अर्थात् आठवें महीने के पन्द्रहवें दिन को वह बेतेल में अपनी बनाई हुई वेदी के पास चढ़ गया। उस ने इस्राएलियों के लिये एक पर्ब्व ठहरा दिया, और धूप जलाने को वेदी के पास चढ़ गया।

33. And he styede on the auter, which he hadde bildid in Bethel, in the fiftenthe day of the eiythe monethe, which he hadde feyned of his herte; and he made solempnyte to the sones of Israel, and he stiede on the auter, that he schulde brenne encence.
