1. परन्तु राजा सुलैमान फ़िरौन की बेटी, और बहुतेरी और पराये स्त्रियों से, जो मोआबी, अम्मोनी, एदोमी, सीदोती, और हित्ती थीं, प्रीति करने लगा।

1. And King Solomon loved many foreign women, even the daughter of Pharaoh, Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, Hittites;

2. वे उन जातियों की थीं, जिनके विषय में यहोवा ने इस्राएलियों से कहा था, कि तुम उनके मध्य में न जाना, और न वे तुम्हारे मध्य में आने पाएं, वे तुम्हारा मन अपने देवताओं की ओर निेसन्देह फेरेंगी; उन्हीं की प्रीति में सुलैमान लिप्त हो गया।

2. of the nations which Jehovah had said to the sons of Israel, You shall not go in to them, and they shall not go in to you; surely they will turn away your heart after their gods. Solomon clung to these in love.

3. और उसके सात सौ रानियां, और तीन सौ रखेलियां हो गई थीं और उसकी इन स्त्रियों ने उसका मन बहका दिया।

3. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And his wives turned away his heart.

4. सो जब सुलैमान बूढ़ा हुआ, तब उसकी स्त्रियों ने उसका मन पराये देवताओं की ओर बहका दिया, और उसका मन अपने पिता दाऊद की नाई अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा पर पूरी रीति से लगा न रहा।

4. For it happened when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods. And his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.

5. सुलैमान तो सीदोनियों की अशतोरेत नाम देवी, और अम्मोनियों के मिल्कोम नाम घृणित देवता के पीछे चला।

5. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom, the abomination of the Ammonites;

6. और सुलैमान ने वह किया जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा है, और यहोवा के पीछे अपने पिता दाऊद की नाई पूरी रीति से न चला।

6. and Solomon did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and did not go fully after Jehovah like his father David.

7. उन दिनों सुलैमान ने यरूशलेम के साम्हने के पहाड़ पर मोआबियों के कमोश नाम घृणित देवता के लिये और अम्मोनियों के मोलेक नाम घृणित देवता के लिये एक एक ऊंचा स्थान बनाया।

7. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill which is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the sons of Ammon.

8. और अपनी सब पराये स्त्रियों के लिये भी जो अपने अपने देवताओं को धूप जलातीं और बलिदान करती थीं, उस ने ऐसा ही किया।

8. And likewise he did for all his foreign wives, and burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.

9. तब यहोवा ने सुलैमान पर क्रोध किया, क्योंकि उसका मन इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा से फिर गया था जिस ने दो बार उसको दर्शन दिया था।

9. And Jehovah was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned from Jehovah, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice

10. और उस ने इसी बात के विषय में आज्ञा दी थी, कि पराये देवताओं के पीछे न हो लेना, तौभी उस ने यहोवा की आज्ञा न मानी।

10. and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; and he did not keep that which Jehovah commanded.

11. और यहोवा ने सुलैमान से कहा, तुझ से जो ऐसा काम हुआ है, और मेरी बन्धाई हुई वाचा और दी हुई वीधि तू ने पूरी नहीं की, इस कारण मैं जाज्य को निश्चय तूझ से छीनकर तेरे एक कर्मचारी को दे दूंगा।

11. And Jehovah said to Solomon, Since this is done by you, and since you have not kept My covenant and My statutes which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.

12. तौभी तेरे पिता दाऊद के कारण तेरे दिनो में तो ऐसा न करूंगा; परन्तु तेरे पुत्रा के हाथ से राज्य छीन लूंगा।

12. But I will not do it in your days, for David your father's sake, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.

13. फिर भी मैं पूर्ण राज्य तो न छीन लूंगा, परन्तु अपने दास दाऊद के कारण, और अपने चुने हुए यरूशलेम के कारण, मैं तेरे पुत्रा के हाथ में एक गोत्रा छोड़ दूंगा।

13. Only, I will not tear away all the kingdom, but I will give one tribe to your son for David My servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.

14. सो यहोवा ने एदोमी हदद को जो एदोमी राजवंश का था, सुलैमान का शत्रु बना दिया।

14. And it happened Jehovah stirred up a foe to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite. He was of the king's seed in Edom.

15. क्योंकि जब दाऊद एदोम में था, और योआब सेनापति मारे हुओं को मिट्ट देने गया,

15. For it happened when David was in Edom, and Joab the commander of the army had gone up to bury the slain, after he had stricken every male in Edom--

16. ( योआब तो समस्त इस्राएल समेत वहां छे महीने रहा, जब तक कि उस ने एदोम के सब मुरूषों को नाश न कर दियाि)

16. for Joab remained there six months with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom--

17. तब हदद जो छोटा लड़का था, अपने पिता के कई एक एदोमी सेवकों के संग मिस्र को जाने की मनसा से भागा।

17. it happened that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go to Egypt, Hadad being still a little child.

18. और वे मिद्यान से होकर परान को आए, और परान में से कई पुरूषों को संग लेकर मिस्र में फ़िरौन राजा के पास गए, और फ़िरौन ने उसको घर दिया, और उसको भोजन मिलने की आज्ञा दी और कुछ भूमि भी दी।

18. And they arose out of Midian and came to Paran. And they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house and appointed food for him, and gave him land.

19. और हदद पर फ़िरौन की बड़े अनुग्रह की दृष्टि हुई, और उस ने उसको अपनी साली अर्थात् तहपनेस रानी की बहिन ब्याह दी।

19. And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him the sister of his own wife for a wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.

20. और तहपनेस की बहिन से गनूबत उत्पन्न हुआ और इसका दूध तहपनेस ने फ़िरौन के भवन में छुड़ाया; तब बनूबत फ़िरौन के भवन में उसी के पुत्रों के साथ रहता था।

20. And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house. And Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.

21. जब हदद ने मिस्र में रहते यह सुना, कि दाऊद अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो गया, और योआब सेनापति भी मर गया है, तब उस ने फ़िरौन से कहा, मुझे आज्ञा दे कि मैं अपने देश को जाऊं !

21. And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the commander of the army was dead, even Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart so that I may go to my own land.

22. फ़िरौन ने उस से कहा, क्यों? मेरे यहां तुझे क्या घटी हुई कि तू अपने देश को जला जाना चाहता है? उस ने उत्तर दिया, कुछ नहीं हुई, तौभी मुझे अपश्य जाने दे।

22. And Pharaoh said to him, But what have you lacked with me that, behold, you seek to go to your land? And he answered, Nothing; however, you shall certainly send me away.

23. फिर परमेश्वर ने उसका एक और शत्रु कर दिया, अर्थात् एल्यादा के पुत्रा रजोन को, वह तो अपने स्वामी सोबा के राजा हददेजेर के पास से भागा था;

23. And God stirred up another foe, to him, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah.

24. और जब दाऊद ने सोबा के जनों को घात किया, तब रजोन अपने पास कई पुरूषों को इकट्ठे करके, एक दल का प्रधान हो गया, और वह दमिश्क को जाकर वहीं रहने और राज्य करने लगा।

24. And he gathered men to him, and became head over a band when David killed them. And they went to Damascus and lived in it, and reigned in Damascus.

25. और उस हानि को छोड़ जो हदद ने की, रजोन भी, सुलैमान के जीवन भर अस्राएल का शत्रु बना रहा; और वह इस्राएल से घृणा रखता हुआ अराम पर राज्य करता था

25. And he was a foe to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief which Hadad did. And he hated Israel and reigned over Syria.

26. फिर नबात का और सरूआह नाम एक विधवा का पुत्रा यारोबाम नाम एक एप्रैमी सरेदाबासी जो सुलैमान का कर्मचारी था, उस ने भी राजा के विरूद्ध सिर उठाया।

26. And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow, he too lifted up his hand against the king.

27. उसका राजा के विरूद्ध सिर अठाने का यह कारण हुआ, कि सुलैमान मिल्लो को बना रहा था ओर अपने पिता दाऊद के नगर के दरार बन्द कर रहा था।

27. And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king. Solomon built Millo and repaired the breaks of the city of David his father.

28. यारोबाम बड़ा हाूरवीर था, और जब सुलैमान ने जवान को देखा, कि यह परिश्रमी ह; तब उस ने उसको यूसुफ के घराने के सब काम पर मुखिया ठहराया।

28. And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of war. And Solomon, seeing that the young man was doing work, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.

29. उन्हीं दिनों में यारोबाम यरूशलेम से निकलकर जा रहा था, कि शीलोबासी अहिरयाह नबी, नई च र ओढ़े हुए मार्ग पर उस से मिला; और केवल वे ही दोनों मैदान में थे।

29. And it happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh found him in the way. And he had clothed himself with a new garment. And the two of them were alone in the field.

30. अपैर अहिरयाह ने अपनी उस नई च र को ले लिया, और उसे फाड़कर बारह टुकड़े कर दिए।

30. And Ahijah caught hold of the new robe on him, and tore it in twelve pieces.

31. तब उस ने यारोबाम से कहा, दस टुकड़े ले ले; क्योंकि, इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, कि सुन, मैं राज्य को सुलैमान के हाथ से छीन कर दस गोत्रा तेरे हाथ में कर दूंगा।

31. And he said to Jeroboam, Take ten pieces for yourself. For so says Jehovah, the God of Israel, Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you,

32. परन्तु मेरे दास दाऊद के कारण और यरूशलेम के कारण जो मैं ने इस्राएल के सब गोत्रों में से चुना है, उसका एक गोत्रा बना रहेगा।

32. but he shall have one tribe for My servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel,

33. इसका कारण यह है कि उन्हों ने मुझे त्याग कर सीदोनियों की देवी अश्तोरेत और मोआबियों के देवता कमोश, और अम्मोनियों के देवता मिल्कोम को दणडवत की, और मेरे माग पर नहीं चले : और जो मेरी दृष्टि में ठीक है, वह नहीं किया, और मेरी वेधियों और नियमों को नहीं माना जैसा कि उसके पिता दाऊद ने किया।

33. because they have forsaken Me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the goddess of the sons of Ammon, and have not walked in My ways, to do what is right in My eyes, and to keep My statutes and My judgments, as David his father did.

34. तौभी मैं उसके हाथ से पूर्ण राज्य न ले लूंगा, परन्तु मेरा चुना हुआ दास दाऊद जो मेरी आज्ञाएं और विधियां मानता रहा, उसके कारण मैं उसको जीवन भर प्रधान ठहराए रखूंगा।

34. But I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of David My servant, whom I chose, because he kept My commandments and My statutes.

35. परन्तु उसके पुत्रा के हाथ से मैं राज्य अर्थात् दस गोत्रा लेकर तुझे दे दूंगा।

35. But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it to you, ten tribes.

36. और उसके पुत्रा को मैं एक गोत्रा दूंगा, इसलिये कि यरूश्सलेम अर्थात् उस नगर में जिसे अपना नाम रखने को मैं ने चुना है, मेरे दास दाऊद का दीपक मेरे साम्हने सदैव बना रहे।

36. And to his son I will give one tribe, so that David My servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Me, to put My name there.

37. परन्तु तुझे मैं ठहरा लूंगा, और तू अपनी इच्छा भर इस्राएल पर राज्य करेगा।

37. And I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.

38. और यदि तू मेरे दास दाऊद की नाई मेरी सब आज्ञाएं, और मेरे माग पर चले, और जो काम मेरी दृष्टि में ठीक है, वही करे, और मेरी विधियां और आाएं मानता रहे, तो मैं तेरे संग रहूंगा, और जिस तनह मैं ने दाऊद का घराना बनाए रखा है, वैसे ही तेरा भी घराना बनाए रखूंगा, और तेरे हाथ इस्राएल को दूंगा।

38. And if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as David My servant did, it shall happen that I will be with you and build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.

39. इस पाप के कारण मैं दाऊद के वंश को दु:ख दूंगा, तौभी सदा तक नहीं।

39. And for this I will afflict the seed of David, but not forever.

40. और सुलैमान ने यारोबाम को मार डालना चाहा, परन्तु यारोबाम मिस्र के राजा शीशक के पास भाग गया, और सुलैमान के मरने नक वहीं रहा।

40. And Solomon sought to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

41. सुलैमान की और सब बातें और उसके सब काम और उसकी बुध्दिमानी का वर्णन, क्या सुलैमान के इतिहास की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखा है?

41. And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the Book of the Acts of Solomon?

42. सुलैमान को यरूशलेम में सब इस्राएल पर राज्य करते हुए चालीस वर्ष बीते।

42. And the days that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel were forty years.

43. और सुलैमान अपने पुरखाओं के संग सोया, और उसको उसके पिता दाऊद के नगर में मिट्टी दी गई, और उसका पुत्रा रहूबियाम उसके स्थान पर राजा हुआ।

43. And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father. And Rehoboam reigned in his place.
