1. दाऊद ने पूछा, क्या शाऊल के घराने में से कोई अब तक बचा है, जिसको मैं योनातन के कारण प्रीति दिखाऊं?

1. Then said David: is there yet any man left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him mercy for Jonathas' sake?

2. शाऊल के घराने का सीबा नाम एक कर्मचारी था, वह दाऊद के पास बुलाया गया; और जब राजा ने उस से पूछा, क्या तू सीबा है? तब उस ने कहा, हां, तेरा दास वही है।

2. And there was of the household of Saul a servant named Zibah which was called unto David. And the king said unto him: art thou Zibah? And he said: thy servant is the man.

3. राजा ने पूछा, क्या शाऊल के घराने में से कोई अब तक बचा है, जिसको मैं परमेश्वर की सी प्रीति दिखाऊं? सीबा ने राजा से कहा, हां, योनातन का एक बेटा तो है, जो लंगड़ा है।

3. Then said the king: remaineth there yet any man of the kindred of Saul, whom I may shew the mercy of God upon? And Zibah said unto the king: Jonathas hath yet a son which is lame on both feet.

4. राजा ने उस से पूछा, वह कहां है? सीबा ने राजा से कहा, वह तो लोदबार नगर में, अम्मीएल के पुत्रा माकीर के घर में रहता है।

4. And the king said unto him: where is he? And Zibah said unto the king: behold he is in the house of Machir the son of Amiel in Lodaber.

5. तब राजा दाऊद ने दूत भेजकर उसको लोदबार से, अम्मीएल के पुत्रा माकीर के घर से बुलवा लिया।

5. Then king David sent and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Amiel, out of Lodaber.

6. जब मपीबोशेत, जो योनातन का पुत्रा और शाऊल का पोता था, दाऊद के पास आया, तब मुह के बल गिरके दणडवत् किया। दाऊद ने कहा, हे मपीबोशेत ! उस ने कहा, तेरे दास को क्या आज्ञा?

6. Now when Miphiboseth the son of Jonathas the son of Saul was come unto David, he bowed himself and fell on his face. Then said David: Miphiboseth? And he answered. Behold thy servant.

7. दाऊद ने उस से कहा, मत डर; तेरे पिता योनातन के कारण मैं निश्चय तुझ को प्रीति दिखाऊंगा, और तेरे दादा शाऊल की सारी भूूमि तुझे फेर दूंगा; और तू मेरी मेज पर नित्य भोजन किया कर।

7. And David said: fear not, for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathas' sake and will restore thee all the fields of Saul thy father, and thou shalt eat meat on mine own table always.

8. उस ने दणडवत् करके कहा, तेरा दास क्या है, कि तू मुझे ऐसे मरे कुत्ते की ओर दृष्टि करे?

8. And the other bowed himself and said: what is thy servant that thou shouldst vouchsafe to look upon such a dead dog as I am.

9. तब राजा ने शाऊल के कर्मचारी सीबा को बुलवाकर उस से कहा, जो कुछ शाऊल और उसके समस्त घराने का था वह मैं ने तेरे स्वामी के पोते को दे दिया है।

9. Then the king called unto Zibah Saul's young man saying unto him: I give unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his kin.

10. अब से तू अपने बेटों और सेवकों समेत उसकी भूमि पर खेती करके उसकी उपज ले आया करना, कि तेरे स्वामी के पोते को भोजन मिला करे; परन्तु तेरे स्वामी का पोता मपीबोशेत मेरी मेज पर नित्य भोजन किया करेगा। और सीबा के तो पन्द्रह पुत्रा और बीस सेवक थे।

10. See therefore that thou and thy sons and thy servants till the land for him, and bring in, that thy master's son may have food to eat. For Miphiboseth thy master's son shall eat meat alway upon my table. For this Zibah had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

11. सीबा ने राजा से कहा, मेरा प्रभु राजा अपने दास को जो जो आज्ञा दे, उन सभों के अनुसार तेरा दास करेगा। दाऊद ने कहा, मपीबोशेत राजकुमारों की नाई मेरी मेज पर भोजन किया करे।

11. Then said Zibah unto the king: all that my lord hath said unto his servant, thy servant shall do. For (said the king) Miphiboseth must eat upon my table, as one of the king's sons.

12. मपीबोशेत के भी मीका नाम एक छोटा बेटा था। और सीबा के घर में जितने रहते थे वे सब मपीबोशेत की सेवा करते थे।

12. This Miphiboseth had a son that was young named Micha, and all that dwelled in the house of Zibah were servants unto Miphiboseth.

13. और मपीबोशेत यरूशलेम में रहता था; क्योंकि वह राजा की मेज पर नित्य भोजन किया करता था। और वह दोनों पांवों का पंगुला था।

13. And Miphiboseth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate ever at the king's table, and was thereto halt on both legs.
