1. और सरूयाह का पुत्रा योआब ताड़ गया कि राजा का मन अबशालोम की ओर लगा है।

1. Now Joab the son of Zeruiah knew that the heart of the king was toward Absalom.

2. इसलिये योआब ने तको नगर में दूत भेजकर वहां से एक बुध्दिमान स्त्री को बुलवाया, और उस से कहा, शोक करनेवाली बन, अर्थात् शोक का पहिरावा पहिन, और तेल न लगा; परन्तु ऐसी स्त्री बन जो बहुत दिन से मुए के लिये विलाप करती रही हो।

2. And Joab sent to Tekoa, and took from there a cunning woman, and said to her, Mourn, and put on mourning apparel, and anoint yourself not with oil, and you shall be as a woman mourning for one that is dead thus for many days.

3. तब राजा के पास जाकर ऐसी ऐसी बातें कहना। और योआब ने उसको जो कुछ कहना था वह सिखा दिया।

3. And you shall go to the king, and speak to him according to this word. And Joab put the words in her mouth.

4. जब वह तकोइन राजा से बातें करने लगी, तब मुंह के बल भूमि पर गिर दणडवत् करके कहने लगी, राजा की दोहाई

4. So the woman of Tekoa went in to the king and fell upon her face to the earth, and bowed down before him, and said, Help, O king, help.

5. राजा ने उस से पूछा, तुझे क्या चाहिये? उस ने कहा, सचमुच मेरा पति मर गया, और मैं विधवा हो गई।

5. And the king said to her, What is the matter with you? And she said, I am indeed a widow woman, and my husband is dead.

6. और तेरी दासी के दो बेटे थे, और उन दोनों ने मैदान में मार पीट की; और उनको छुड़ानेवाला कोई न था, इसलिए एक ने दूसरे को ऐसा मारा कि वह मर गया।

6. And moreover your handmaid had two sons, and they fought together in the field, and there was no one to part them; and the one struck down the other, his brother, and killed him.

8. राजा ने स्त्री से कहा, अपते घर जा, और मैं तेरे विषय आज्ञा दूंगा।

8. And the king said to the woman, Go in peace to your house, and I will give orders concerning you.

9. तकोइन ने राजा से कहा, हे मेरे प्रभु, हे राजा, दोष मुझी को और मेरे पिता के घराने ही को लगे; और राजा अपनी गद्दी समेत निदष ठहरे।

9. And the woman of Tekoa said to the king, On me, my lord, O king, and on my father's house [be] the iniquity, and the king and his throne [be] guiltless.

10. राजा ने कहा, जो कोई तुझ से कुछ बोले उसको मेरे पास ला, तब वह फिर तुझे छूने न पाएगा।

10. And the king said, Who was it that spoke to you? You shall bring him to me, and [one] shall not touch him anymore.

11. उस ने कहा, राजा अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को स्मरण करे, कि खून का पलटा लेनेवाला औैर नाश करने न पाए, और मेरे बेटे का नाश न होने पाए। उस ने कहा, यहोवा के जीवन की शपथ, तेरे बेटे का एक बाल भी भूमि पर गिरने न पाएगा।
प्रेरितों के काम 27:34

11. And she said, Let now the king remember concerning his Lord God in that the avenger of blood is multiplied to destroy, and let them not take away my son. And he said, [As] the lord lives, not a hair of your son shall fall to the ground.

12. स्त्री बोली, तेरी दासी अपने प्रभु राजा से एक बात कहने पाए।

12. And the woman said, Let now your servant speak a word to my lord the king. And he said, Speak on.

13. उस ने कहा, कहे जा। स्त्री कहने लगी, फिर तू ने परमेश्वर की प्रजा की हानि के लिये ऐसी ही युक्ति क्यों की है? राजा ने जो यह वचन कहा है, इस से वह दोषी सा ठहरता है, क्योंकि राजा अपने निकाले हुए को लौटा नहीं लाता।

13. And the woman said, Why have you devised this thing against the people of God? Or [is] this word out of the king's mouth as a transgression, so that the king should not bring back his [own] banished [son]?

14. हम को तो मरना ही है, और भूमि पर गिरे हुए जल के समान ठहरेंगे, जो फिर उठाया नहीं जाता; तौभी परमेश्वर प्राण नहीं लेता, वरन ऐसी युकित करता है कि निकाला हुआ उसके पास से निकाला हुआ न रहे।

14. For we shall surely die, and be as water poured upon the earth, which shall not be gathered up, and God shall take the life, even as He devises to thrust forth from Him His outcast.

15. और अब मैं जो अपने प्रभु राजा से यह बात कहने को आई हूं, इसका कारण यह है, कि लोगों ने मुझे डरा दिया था; इसलिये तेरी दासी ने सोचा, कि मैं राजा से बोलूंगी, कदाचित राजा अपनी दासी की बिनती को पूरी करे।

15. And now whereas I came to speak this word to my lord the king, [the reason is] that the people will see me, and your handmaid will say, Let one now speak to my lord the king, if perhaps the king will perform the request of his handmaid;

16. निेसन्देह राजा सुनकर अवश्य अपनी दासी को उस मनुष्य के हाथ से बचाएगा जो पाझे और मेरे बेटे दोनों को परमेश्वर के भाग में से नाश करना चाहता है।

16. for the king will hear. Let him rescue his handmaid out of the hand of the man that seeks to cast out me and my son from the inheritance of God.

17. सो तेरी दासी ने सोचा, कि मेरे प्रभु राजा के वचन से शान्ति मिले; क्योंकि मेरा प्रभु राजा परमेश्वर के किसी दूत की नाई भले- बुरे में भेद कर सकता है; इसलिये तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तेरे संग रहे।

17. And the woman said, If now the word of my lord the king be gracious,--[well]: for as an angel of God, so [is] my lord the king, to hear good and evil; and the Lord your God shall be with you.

18. राजा ने उत्तर देकर उस स्त्री से कहा, जो बात मैं तुझ से पूछता हूं उसे मुझ से न छिपा। स्त्री ने कहा, मेरा प्रभु राजा कहे जाए।

18. And the king answered, and said to the woman, Hide not from me, I pray, the matter which I ask you. And the woman said, Let my lord the king by all means speak.

19. राजा ने पूछा, इस बात में क्या योआब तेरा संगी है? स्त्री ने उत्तर देकर कहा, हे मेरे प्रभुु, हे राजा, तेरे प्राण की शपथ, जो कुछ मेरे प्रभु राजा ने कहा है, उस से कोई न दाहिनी ओर मुड़ सकता है और न बाई। तेरे दास योआब ही ने मुझे आज्ञा दी, और ये सब बातें उसी ने तेरी दासी को सिखाई है।

19. And the king said, [Is] not the hand of Joab in all this matter with you? And the woman said to the king, [As] your soul lives, my lord, O king, there is no turning to the right hand or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken; for your servant Joab himself charged me, and he put all these words in the mouth of your handmaid.

20. तेरे दास योआब ने यह काम इसलिये किया कि बात का रंग बदले। और मेरा प्रभु परमेश्वर के एक दूत के तुल्य बुध्दिमान है, यहां तक कि धरती पर जो कुछ होता है उन सब को वह जानता है।

20. In order that this form of speech might come about [it was] that your servant Joab has framed this matter; and my lord is wise as [is] the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.

21. तब राजा ने योआब से कहा, सुन, मैं ने यह बात मानी है; तू जाकर अबशालोम जवान को लौटा ला।

21. And the king said to Joab, Behold now, I have done to you according to this your word: go, bring back the young man Absalom.

22. तब योआब ने भूमि पर मुंह के बल गिर दणडवत् कर राजा को आशीर्वाद दिया; और योआब कहने लगा, हे मेरे प्रभु, हे राजा, आज तेरा दास जान गया कि मुझ पर तेरी अनग्रह की दृष्टि है, क्योंकि राजा ने अपने दास की बिनती सुनी है।

22. And Joab fell on his face to the ground, and bowed down, and blessed the king. And Joab said, Today your servant knows that I have found grace in your sight, my lord, O king, for my lord the king has performed the request of his servant.

23. और योआब उठकर गशूर को गया, और अबशालोम को यरूशलेम ले आया।

23. And Joab arose, and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.

24. तब राजा ने कहा, वह अपने घर जाकर रहे; और मेरा दर्शन न पाए। तब अबशालोम अपने घर जा रहा, और राजा का दर्शन न पाया।

24. And the king said, Let him return to his house, and not see my face. And Absalom returned to his house, and saw not the king's face.

25. समस्त इस्राएल में सुन्दरता के कारण बहुत प्रशंसा योग्य अबशालोम के तुल्य और कोई न था; वरन उस में नख से सिख तक कुछ दोष न था।

25. And there was not a man in Israel so very comely as Absalom. From the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

26. और वह वर्ष के अन्त में अपना सिर मुंढ़वाता था ( उसके बाल उसको भारी जान पड़ते थे, इस कारण वह उसे मुंड़ाता था ); और जब जब वह उसे मुंड़ाता तब तब अपने सिर के बाल तौलकर राजा के तौल के अनुसार दो सौ शेकेल भर पाता था।

26. And when he cut his hair, (and it was at the beginning of every year that he cut it, because it grew heavy upon him) even when he cut it, he weighed the hair of his head, [and it weighed] two hundred shekels according to the royal shekel.

27. और अबशालोम के तीन बेटे, और तामार नाम एक बेटी उत्पन्न हुई थी; और यह रूपवती स्त्री थी।

27. And there were born to Absalom three sons and one daughter, and her name was Tamar. She was a very beautiful woman, and she became the wife of Rehoboam son of Solomon, and she bore to him Abia.

28. और अबशालोम राजा का दर्शन बिना पाए यरूशलेम में दो वर्ष रहा।

28. And Absalom remained in Jerusalem two full years, and he saw not the king's face.

29. तब अबशालोम ने योआब को बुलवा भेजा कि उसे राजा के पास भेजे; परन्तु योआब ने उसके पास आने से इनकार किया। और उस ने उसे दूसरी बार बुलवा भेजा, परन्तु तब भी उस ने आने से इनकार किया।

29. And Absalom sent to Joab to bring him in to the king, and he would not come to him. And he sent to him the second time, and he would not come.

30. तब उस ने अपने सेवकों से कहा, सुनो, योआब का एक खेत मेरी भूमि के निकट है, और उस में उसका जव खड़ा है; तुम जाकर उस में आग लगाओ। और अबशालोम के सेवकों ने उस खेत में आग लगा दी।

30. And Absalom said to his servants, Behold, Joab's portion in the field [is] next to mine, and he has barley in it; go and set it on fire. And the servants of Absalom set the field on fire. And the servants of Joab come to him with their clothes torn, and they said to him, The servants of Absalom have set the field on fire.

31. तब योआब उठा, और अबशालोम के घर में उसके पास जाकर उस से पूछने लगा, तेरे सेवकों ने मेरे खेत में क्यों आग लगाई है?

31. And Joab arose, and came to Absalom into the house, and said to him, Why have your servants set my field on fire?

32. अबशालोम ने योआब से कहा, मैं ने तो तेरे पास यह कहला भेजा था, कि यहां आना कि मैं तुझे राजा के पास यह कहने को भेजूं, कि मैं गशूर से क्यों आया? मैं अब तक वहां रहता तो अच्छा होता। इसलिये अब राजा मुझे दर्शन दे; और यदि मैं दोषी हूं, तो वह मुझे मार डाले।

32. And Absalom said to Joab, Behold, I sent to you, saying, Come here, and I will send you to the king, saying, Why did I come out of Geshur? It would have been better for me to have remained there. And now, behold, I have not seen the face of the king; but if there is iniquity in me, then put me to death.

33. तो योआब ने राजा के पास जाकर उसको यह बात सुनाई; और राजा ने अबशालोम को बुलवाया। और वह उसके पास गया, और उसके सम्मुख भूमि पर मुंह के बल गिरके दणडवत् की; और राजा ने अबशालोम को चूमा।

33. And Joab went in to the king, and brought him word. And he called Absalom, and he went in to the king, and bowed down before him, and fell upon his face to the ground, even in the presence of the king; and the king kissed Absalom.
