1. उन दिनों में, जब फिर बड़ी भीड़ इकट्ठी हुई, और उन के पास कुछ खाने को न था, तो उस ने अपने चेलों को पास बुलाकर उन से कहा।

1. Another time there were many people with Jesus. The people had nothing to eat. So he called his followers to him and said,

2. मुझे इस भीड़ पर तरस आता है, क्योंकि यह तीन दिन से बराबर मेरे साथ हैं, और उन के पास कुछ भी खाने को नहीं।

2. I feel sorry for these people. They have been with me for three days, and now they have nothing to eat.

3. यदि मैं उन्हें भूखा घर भेज दूं, तो मार्ग में थक कर रह जाएंगे; क्योकि इन में से कोई कोई दूर से आए हैं।

3. I should not send them home hungry. If they leave without eating, they will faint on the way home. Some of them live a long way from here.'

4. उसके चेलों ने उस को उत्तर दिया, कि यहां जंगल में इतनी रोटी कोई कहां से लाए कि ये तृप्त हों?

4. Jesus' followers answered, 'But we are far away from any towns. Where can we get enough bread to feed all these people?'

5. उस ने उन से पूछा; तुम्हारे पास कितनी रोटियां हैं? उन्हों ने कहा, सात।

5. Then Jesus asked them, 'How many loaves of bread do you have?' They answered, 'We have seven loaves of bread.'

6. तब उस ने लोगों को भूमि पर बैठने की आज्ञा दी, और वे सात रोटियां लीं, और धन्यवाद करके तोड़ी, और अपने चेलों को देता गया कि उन के आगे रखें, और उन्हों ने लोगों के आगे परोस दिया

6. Jesus told the people to sit on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and gave thanks to God. He broke the bread into pieces and gave them to his followers. He told them to give the bread to the people, and they did as he said.

7. उन के पास थोड़ी सी छोटी मछलियों भी थीं; और उसने धन्यवाद करके उन्हें भी लोगों के आगे रखने की आज्ञा दी।

7. The followers also had a few small fish. Jesus gave thanks for the fish and told them to give the fish to the people.

8. सो वे खाकर तृप्त हो गए और शेष टृकड़ों के सात टोकरे भरकर उठाए।

8. They all ate until they were full. Then the followers filled seven baskets with the pieces of food that were left.

9. और लोग चार हजार के लगभग थे; और उस ने उन को विदा किया।

9. There were about 4000 men who ate. After they ate, Jesus told them to go home.

10. और वह तुरन्त अपने चेलों के साथ नाव पर चढ़कर दलमनूता देश को चला गया।।

10. Then he went in a boat with his followers to the area of Dalmanutha.

11. फिर फरीसी निकलकर उस से वाद- विवाद करने लगे, और उसे जांचने के लिये उस से कोई स्वर्गीय चिन्ह मांगा।

11. The Pharisees came to Jesus and asked him questions. They wanted to test him. So they asked him to do a miracle as a sign from God.

12. उस ने अपनी आत्मा में आह मार कर कहा, इस समय के लोग क्यों चिन्ह ढूंढ़ते हैं? मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि इस समय के लोगों को कोई चिन्ह नहीं दिया जाएगा।

12. Jesus sighed deeply and said, 'Why do you people ask to see a miracle as a sign? I want you to know that no miracle will be done to prove anything to you.'

13. और वह उन्हें छोड़कर फिर नाव पर चढ़ गया और पार चला गया।।

13. Then Jesus left them and went in the boat to the other side of the lake.

14. और वे रोटी लेना भूल गए थे, और नाव में उन के पास एक ही रोटी थी।

14. The followers had only one loaf of bread with them in the boat. They forgot to bring more bread.

15. और उस ने उन्हें चिताया, कि देखो, फरीसियों के खमीर और हेरोदेस के खमीर से चौकस रहो।

15. Jesus warned them, 'Be careful! Guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod. '

16. वे आपस में विचार करके कहने लगे, कि हमारे पास तो रोटी नहीं है।

16. The followers discussed the meaning of this. They said, 'He said this because we have no bread.'

17. यह जानकर यीशु ने उन से कहा; तुम क्यों आपस में विचार कर रहे हो कि हमारे पास रोटी नहीं? क्या अब तक नहीं जानते और नहीं समझते?

17. Jesus knew that the followers were talking about this. So he asked them, 'Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are you not able to understand?

18. क्या तुम्हारा मन कठोर हो गया है? क्या आंखे रखते हुए भी नहीं देखते, और कान रखते हुए भी नहीं सुनते? और तुम्हें स्मरण नहीं।
यिर्मयाह 5:21, यहेजकेल 12:2

18. Do you have eyes that can't see? Do you have ears that can't hear? Remember what I did before, when we did not have enough bread?

19. कि जब मैं ने पांच हजार के लिये पांच रोटी तोड़ी थीं तो तुम ने टुकड़ों की कितनी टोकरियां भरकर उठाईं? उन्हों ने उस से कहा, सात टोकरे।

19. I divided five loaves of bread for 5000 people. Remember how many baskets you filled with pieces of food that were not eaten?' The followers answered, 'We filled twelve baskets.'

20. उस ने उन से कहा, सात टोकरे।

20. And when I divided seven loaves of bread for 4000 people, how many baskets did you fill with the leftover pieces?' They answered, 'We filled seven baskets.'

21. उस ने उन से कहा, क्या तुम अब तक नहीं समझते?

21. Then he said to them, 'You remember these things I did, but you still don't understand?'

22. और वे बैतसैदा में आए; और लोग एक अन्धे को उसके पास ले आए और उस से बिनती की, कि उस को छूए।

22. Jesus and his followers came to Bethsaida. Some people brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch the man.

23. वह उस अन्धे का हाथ पकड़कर उसे गांव के बाहर ले गया, और उस की आंखों में थूककर उस पर हाथ रखे, और उस से पूछा; क्या तू कुछ देखता है?

23. So Jesus held the blind man's hand and led him out of the village. Then he spit on the man's eyes. He laid his hands on him and asked, 'Can you see now?'

24. उस ने आंख उठा कर कहा; मैं मनुष्यों को देखता हूं; क्योंकि वे मुझे चलते हुए दिखाई देते हैं, जैसे पेड़।

24. The man looked up and said, 'Yes, I see people. They look like trees walking around.'

25. तब उस ने फिर दोबारा उस की आंखों पर हाथ रखे, और उस ने ध्यान से देखा, और चंगा हो गया, और सब कुछ साफ साफ देखने लगा।

25. Again Jesus laid his hands on the man's eyes, and the man opened them wide. His eyes were healed, and he was able to see everything clearly.

26. और उस ने उस से यह कहकर घर भेजा, कि इस गांव के भीतर पांव भी न रखना।।

26. Jesus told him to go home. He said, 'Don't go into the town.'

27. यीशु और उसके चेले कैसरिया फिलिप्पी के गावों में चले गए: और मार्ग में उस ने अपने चेलों से पूछा कि लोग मुझे क्या कहते हैं?

27. Jesus and his followers went to the towns in the area of Caesarea Philippi. While they were traveling, Jesus asked the followers, 'Who do people say I am?'

28. उन्हों ने उत्तर दिया, कि यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देनेवाला; पर कोई कोई; एलिरयाह; और कोई कोई भविष्यद्वक्ताओं में से एक भी कहते हैं।

28. They answered, 'Some people say you are John the Baptizer. Others say you are Elijah. And others say you are one of the prophets. '

29. उस ने उन से पूछा; परन्तु तुम मुझे क्या कहते हो? पतरस ने उस को उत्तर दिया; तू मसीह है।

29. Then Jesus asked, 'Who do you say I am?' Peter answered, 'You are the Christ. '

30. तब उस ने उन्हें चिताकर कहा, कि मेरे विषय में यह किसी से न कहना।

30. Jesus told the followers, 'Don't tell anyone who I am.'

31. और वह उन्हें सिखाने लगा, कि मनुष्य के पुत्रा के लिये अवश्य है, कि वह बहुत दुख उठाए, और पुरनिए और महायाजक और शास्त्री उसे तुच्छ समझकर मार डालें और वह तीन दिन के बाद जी उठे।

31. Then Jesus began to teach his followers that the Son of Man must suffer many things. He taught that the Son of Man would not be accepted by the older Jewish leaders, the leading priests, and the teachers of the law. He said that the Son of Man must be killed and then rise from death after three days.

32. उस ने यह बात उन से साफ साफ कह दी: इस पर पतरस उसे अलग ले जाकर झिड़कने लगा।

32. Jesus told them everything that would happen. He did not keep anything secret. Peter took Jesus away from the other followers to talk to him alone. Peter criticized him for saying these things.

33. परन्तु उस ने फिरकर, और अपने चेलों की ओर देखकर पतरस को झिड़कर कर कहा; कि हे शैतान, मेरे साम्हने से दूर हो; क्योंकि तू परमेश्वर की बातों पर नहीं, परन्तु मनुष्य की बातों पर मन लगाता है।

33. But Jesus turned and looked at his followers. Then he criticized Peter. He said to Peter, 'Get away from me, Satan! You don't care about the same things God does. You care only about things that people think are important.'

34. उस ने भीड़ को अपने चेलों समेत पास बुलाकर उन से कहा, जो कोई मेरे पीछे आना चाहे, वह अपने आपे से इन्कार करे और अपना क्रूस उठाकर, मेरे पीछे हो ले।

34. Then Jesus called the crowd and his followers to him. He said, 'Any of you who want to be my follower must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you for following me.

35. क्योंकि जो कोई अपना प्राण बचाना चाहे वह उसे खोएगा, पर जो कोई मेरे और सुसमाचार के लिये अपना प्राण खोएगा, वह उसे बचाएगा।

35. Any of you who try to save the life you have will lose it. But you who give up your life for me and for the Good News will save it.

36. यदि मनुष्य सारे जगत को प्राप्त करे और अपने प्राण की हानि उठाए, तो उसे क्या लाभ होगा?

36. It is worth nothing for you to have the whole world if you yourself are lost.

37. और मनुष्य अपने प्राण के बदले क्या देगा?

37. You could never pay enough to buy back your life.

38. जो कोई इस व्यभिचारी और पापी जाति के बीच मुझ से और मेरी बातों से लजाएगा, मनुष्य का पुत्रा भी जब वह पवित्रा दूतों के साथ अपने पिता की महिमा सहित आएगा, तब उस से भी लजाएगा।

38. People today are so sinful. They have not been faithful to God. As you live among them, don't be ashamed of me and my teaching. If that happens, I will be ashamed of you when I come with the glory of my Father and the holy angels.'
