1. जंगल की ओर से सेला नगर से सिरयोन की बेटी के पर्वत पर देश के हाकिम के लिये भेड़ों के बच्चों को भेजो।

1. Send ye the lambs for the ruler of the land from Sela {cf15i which is} toward the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

2. मोआब की बेटियां अर्नोन के घाट पर उजाड़े हुए बच्चों के समान हैं।

2. For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of Arnon.

3. सम्मति करो, न्याय चुकाओ; दोपहर ही में अपनी छाया को रात के समान करो; घर से निकाले हुओं को छिपा रखो, जो मारे मारे फिरते हैं उनको मत पकड़वाओ।

3. Give counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday: hide the outcasts; bewray not the wanderer.

4. मेरे लोग जो निकाले हुए हैं वे तेरे बीच में रहें; नाश करनेवाले से मोआब को बचाओ। पीसनेवाला नहीं रहा, लूट पाट फिर न होगी; क्योंकि देश में से अन्धेर करनेवाले नाश हो गए हैं।

4. Let mine outcasts dwell with thee; as for Moab, be thou a covert to him from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is brought to nought, spoiling ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

5. तब दया के साथ एक सिंहासन स्थिर किया जाएगा और उस पर दाऊद के तम्बू में सच्चाई के साथ एक विराजमान होगा जो सोच विचार कर सच्चा न्याय करेगा और धर्म के काम पर तत्पर रहेगा।।

5. And a throne shall be established in mercy, and one shall sit thereon in truth, in the tent of David; judging, and seeking judgment, and swift to do righteousness.

6. हम ने मोआब के गर्व के विषय सुना है कि वह अत्यन्त अभिमानी था; उसके अभिमान और गर्व और रोष के सम्बन्ध में भी सुना है परन्तु उसका बड़ा बोल व्यर्थ है।

6. We have heard of the pride of Moab, {cf15i that} he is very proud; even of his arrogancy, and his pride, and his wrath; his boastings are nought.

7. क्योंकि मोआब हाय हाय करेगा; सब के सब मोआब के लिये हाहाकार करेंगे। कीरहरासत की दाख की टिकियों के लिये वे अति निराश होकर लम्बी लम्बी सांस लिया करेंगे।।

7. Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the raisincakes of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn, utterly stricken.

8. क्योंकि हेशबोन के खेत और सिबमा की दाख लताएं मुर्झा गईं; अन्यजातियों के अधिकारियों ने उनकी उत्तम उत्तम लताओं को काट काटकर गिरा दिया है, ये याजेर तक पहुंची और जंगल में भी फैलती गईं; और बढ़ते बढ़ते ताल के पार दूर तक बढ़ गई थीं।

8. For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah; the lords of the nations have broken down the choice plants thereof; they reached even unto Jazer, they wandered into the wilderness; her branches were spread abroad, they passed over the sea.

9. मैं याजेर के साथ सिबमा की दाखलताओं के लिये भी रोऊंगा; हे हेशबोन और एलाले, मैं तुम्हें अपने आंसुओं से सींचूंगा; क्योंकि तुम्हारे धूपकाल के फलों के और अनाज की कटनी के समय की ललकार सुनाई पड़ी है।

9. Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for upon thy summer fruits and upon thy harvest the {cf15i battle} shout is fallen.

10. और फलदाई बारियों में से आनन्द और मगनता जाती रही; दाख की बारियों में गीत न गाया जाएगा, न हर्ष का शब्द सुनाई देगा; और दाखरस के कुण्डों में कोई दाख न रौंदेगा, क्योंकि मैं उनके हर्ष के शब्द को बन्द करूंगा।

10. And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither joyful noise: no treader shall tread out wine in the presses; I have made the {cf15i vintage} shout to cease.

11. इसलिये मेरा मन मोआब के कारण और मेरा हृदय कीरहैरेस के कारण वीणा का सा क्रन्दन करता है।।

11. Wherefore my bowels sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirheres.

12. और जब मोआब ऊंचे स्थान पर मुंह दिखाते दिखाते थक जाए, और प्रार्थना करने को अपने पवित्रा स्थान में आए, तो उसे कुछ लाभ न होगा।

12. And it shall come to pass, when Moab presenteth himself, when he wearieth himself upon the high place, and shall come to his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.

13. यही वह बात है जो यहोवा ने इस से पहिले मोआब के विषय में कही थी।

13. This is the word that the LORD spake concerning Moab in time past.

14. परन्तु अब यहोवा ने यों कहा है कि मजदूरों के वर्षों के समान ती वर्ष के भीतर मोआब का विभव और उसकी भीड़- भाड़ सब तुच्छ ठहरेगी; और थोड़े जो बचेंगे उनका कोई बल न होगा।।

14. But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and of no account.
