1. उन दिनों में हिजकिरयाह ऐसा रोगी हुआ कि मरते पर था, और आमोस के पुत्रा यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता ने उसके पास जाकर कहा, यहोवा यों कहता है, कि अपने घराने के विषय जो आज्ञा देनी हो वह दे; क्योंकि तू नहीं बचेगा, मर जाएगा।

1. In those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, and saith unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou art dying, and dost not live.'

2. तब उस ने भीत की ओर मुंह फेर, यहोवा से प्रार्थना करके कहा, हे यहोवा !

2. And he turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah, saying,

3. मैं बिन्ती करता हूँ, स्मरण कर, कि मैं सच्चाई और खरे मन से अपने को तेरे सम्मुख जानकर चलता आया हूँ; और जो तुझे अच्छा तगता है वही मैं करता आया हूँ। तब हिजकिरयाह बिलक बिलक कर रोया।

3. 'I pray Thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which [is] good in Thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth -- a great weeping.

4. और ऐसा हुआ कि यशायाह नगर के बीच तक जाने भी न पाया था कि यहोवा का यह वचन उसके पास पहुंचा,

4. And it cometh to pass -- Isaiah hath not gone out to the middle court -- that the word of Jehovah hath been unto him, saying,

5. कि लौटकर मेरी प्रजा के प्रधान हिजकिरयाह से कह, कि तेरे मूलपुरूष दाऊद का परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मैं ने तेरी प्रार्थना सुनी और तेरे आंसू देखे हैं; देख, मैं तुझे चंगा करता हूँ; परसों तू यहोवा के भवन में जा सकेगा।

5. 'Turn back, and thou hast said unto Hezekiah, leader of My people: Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I give healing to thee, on the third day thou dost go up to the house of Jehovah;

6. और मैं तेरी आयू पन्द्रह वर्ष और बढ़ा दूंगा। और अश्शूर के राजा के हाथ से तुझे और इस नगर को बचाऊंगा, और मैं अपने निमित्त और अपने दास दाऊद के निमित्त इस नगर की रक्षा करूंगा।

6. and I have added to thy days fifteen years, and out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city for Mine own sake, and for the sake of David My servant.'

7. तब यशायाह ने कहा, अंजीरों की एक टिकिया लो। जब उन्हों ने उसे लेकर फोड़े पर बान्धा, तब वह चंगा हो गया।

7. And Isaiah saith, 'Take ye a cake of figs;' and they take and lay [it] on the boil, and he reviveth.

8. हिजकिरयाह ने यशायाह से पूछा, यहोवा जो मुझे चंगा करेगा और मैं परसों यहोवा के भवन को जा सकूंगा, इसका क्या चिन्ह होगा?

8. And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, 'What [is] the sign that Jehovah doth give healing to me, that I have gone up on the third day to the house of Jehovah?'

9. यशायाह ने कहा, यहोवा जो अपने कहे हुए वचन को पूरा करेगा, इस बात का यहोवा की ओर से तेरे लिये यह चिन्ह होगा, कि धूपघड़ी की छाया दस अंश आगे बढ़ जाएगी, व दस अंश घट जाएगी।

9. And Isaiah saith, 'This [is] to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth the thing that He hath spoken -- The shadow hath gone on ten degrees, or it doth turn back ten degrees?'

10. हिजकिरयाह ने कहा, छाया का दस अंश आगे ण्ढ़ना तो हलकी बात है, इसलिए ऐसा हो कि छाया दस अंश पीछे लौट जाए।

10. And Hezekiah saith, 'It hath been light for the shadow to incline ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow turn backward ten degrees.'

11. तब यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता ने यहोवा को पुकारा, और आहाज की घूपघड़ी की छाया, जो दस अंश ढल चुकी थी, यहोवा ने उसको पीछे की ओर लौटा दिया।

11. And Isaiah the prophet calleth unto Jehovah, and He bringeth back the shadow by the degrees that it had gone down in the degrees of Ahaz -- backward ten degrees.

12. उस समय बलदान का पुत्रा बरोदकबलदान जो बाबेल का राजा था, उस ने हिजकिरयाह के रोगी होने की चर्चा सुनकर, उसके पास पत्री और भेंट भेजी।

12. At that time hath Berodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick;

13. उनके लानेवालों की मानकर हिजकिरयाह ने उनको अपने अनमोल पदाथ का सब भणडार, और चान्दी और सोना और सुगन्ध द्ररय और उत्तम तेल और अपने हथियारों का पूरा घर और अपने भणडारों में जो जो वस्तुएं थीं, वे सब दिखाई; हिजकिरयाह के भवन और राज्य भर में कोई ऐसी वस्तु न रही, जो उस ने उन्हें न दिख्खाई हो।

13. and Hezekiah hearkeneth unto them, and sheweth them all the house of his treasury, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasuries; there hath not been a thing that Hezekiah hath not shewed them, in his house, and in all his dominion.

14. तब यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता ने हिजकिरयाह राजा के पास जाकर पुछा, वे मनुष्य क्या कह गए? और कहां से तेरे पास आए थे? हिजकिरयाह ने कहा, वे तो दूर देश से अर्थात् बाबेल से आए थे।

14. And Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, 'What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, 'From a land afar off they have come -- from Babylon.'

15. फिर उस ने पूछा, तेरे भवन में उन्हों ने क्या क्या देखा है? हिजकिरयाह ने कहा, जो कुछ मेरे भवन में है, वह सब उन्हों ने देखा। मेरे भणडारों में कोई ऐसी वस्तु नहीं, जो मैं ने उन्हें न दिखाई हो।

15. And he saith, 'What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, 'All that [is] in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'

16. यशायाह ने हिजकिरयाह से कहा, यहोवा का वचन सुन ले।

16. And Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, 'Hear a word of Jehovah:

17. ऐसे दिन आनेवाले है, जिन में जो कुछ तेरे भवन में हैं, और जो कुछ तेरे मुरखाओं का रखा हुआ आज के दिन तक भणडारों में है वह सब बाबेल को उठ जाएगा; यहोवा यह कहता है, कि कोई वस्तु न बचेगी।

17. Lo, days are coming, and borne hath been all that [is] in thy house, and that thy father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;

18. और जो पुत्रा तेरे वंश में उत्पन्न हों, उन में से भी कितनों को वे बन्धुआई में ले जाएंगे; और वे खोजे बनकर बाबेल के राजभवन में रहेंगे।

18. and of thy sons who go out from thee, whom thou begettest, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'

19. हिजकिरयाह ने यशायाह से कहा, यहोवा का वचन जो तू ने कहा है, वह भला ही है, फिर उस ने कहा, क्या मेरे दिनों में शांति और सच्चाई बनी न रहेंगी?

19. And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, 'Good [is] the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, 'Is it not -- if peace and truth are in my days?'

20. हिजकिरयाह के और सब काम और उसकी सारी वीरता और किस रीति उस ने एक पोखरा और नाली खुदवाकर नगर में पानी पहुंचा दिया, यह सग क्या यहूदा के राजाओं के इतिहास की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखा है?

20. And the rest of the matters of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and bringeth in the waters to the city, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

21. निदान हिजकिरयाह अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो गया और उसका पुत्रा मनश्शे उसके स्थान पर राज्य करने लगा।

21. And Hezekiah lieth with his fathers, and reign doth Manasseh his son in his stead.
