1. तब शमूएल ने सारे इस्राएलियों से कहा, सुनो, जो कुछ तुम ने मुझ से कहा था उसे मानकर मैं ने एक राजा तुम्हारे ऊपर ठहराया है।

1. Samuel said to all Israel, Behold, I have listened to your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you.

2. और अब देखो, वह राजा तुम्हारे आगे आगे चलता है; और अब मैं बूढ़ा हूं, और मेरे बाल उजले हो गए हैं, और मेरे पुत्रा तुम्हारे पास हैं; और मैं लड़कपन से लेकर आज तक तुम्हारे साम्हने काम करता रहा हूं।

2. Now, behold, the king walks before you; and I am old and gray-headed; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my youth to this day.

3. मैं उपस्थित हूं; इसलिये तुम यहोवा के साम्हने, और उसके अभिषिक्त के सामने मुझ पर साक्षी दो, कि मैं ने किस का बैल ले लिया? वा किस का गदहा ले लियेा? वा किस पर अन्धेर किया? वा किस को पीसा? वा किस के हाथ से अपनी आंखें बन्द करने के लिये घूस लिया? बताओ, और मैं वह तुम को फेर दूंगा?

3. Here I am: witness against me before Yahweh, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose donkey have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I taken a ransom to blind my eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

4. वे बोले, तू ने न तो हम पर अन्धेर किया, न हमें पीसा, और न किसी के हाथ से कुछ लिया है।

4. They said, You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything of any man's hand.

5. उस ने उन से कहा, आज के दिन यहोवा तुम्हारा साक्षी, और उसका अभिषिक्त इस बात का साक्षी है, कि मेरे यहां कुद नहीं निकला। वे बोले, हां, वह साक्षी है।

5. He said to them, Yahweh is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand. They said, He is witness.

6. फिर शमूएल लोगों से कहने लगा, जो मूसा और हारून को ठहराकर तुम्हारे पूर्वजों को मि देश से निकाल लाया वह यहोवा ही है।

6. Samuel said to the people, It is Yahweh who appointed Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

7. इसलिये अब तुम खड़े रहो, और मैं यहोवा के साम्हने उसके सब धर्म के कामों के विषय में, जिन्हें उस ने तुम्हारे साथ और तुम्हारे पूर्वजों के साथ किया है, तुम्हारे साथ विचार करूंगा।

7. Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before Yahweh concerning all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he did to you and to your fathers.

8. याकूब मि में गया, और तुम्हारे पूर्वजों ने यहोवा की दोहाई दी; तब यहोवा ने मूसा और हारून को भेजा, और उन्हों ने तुम्हारे पूर्वजों को मि से निकाला, और इस स्थान में बसाया।

8. When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried to Yahweh, then Yahweh sent Moses and Aaron, who brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them to dwell in this place.

9. फिर जब वे अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को भूल गए, तब उस ने उन्हें हासोर के सेनापति सीसरा, और पलिश्तियों और मोआब के राजा के अधीन कर दिया; और वे उन से लड़े।

9. But they forgot Yahweh their God; and he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them.

10. तब उन्हों ने यहोवा की दोहाई देकर कहा, हम ने यहोवा को त्यागकर और बाल देवताओं और अशतोरेत देवियों की उपासना करके महा पाप किया है; परन्तु अब तू हम को हमारे शत्रुओं के हाथ से छुड़ा तो हम तेरी उपासना करेंगे।

10. They cried to Yahweh, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken Yahweh, and have served the Baals and the Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve you.

11. इसलिये यहोवा ने यरूब्बाल, बदान, यिप्तह, और शमूएल को भेजकर तुम को तुम्हारे चारों ओर के शत्रुओं के हाथ से छुड़ाया; और तुम निडर रहने लगे।

11. Yahweh sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side; and you lived in safety.

12. और जब तुम ने देखा कि अम्मोनियों का राजा नाहाश हम पर चढ़ाई करता है, तब यद्यपि तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुम्हारा राजा था तौभी तुम ने मुझ से कहा, नहीं, हम पर एक राजा राज्य करेगा।

12. When you saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, you said to me, No, but a king shall reign over us; when Yahweh your God was your king.

13. अब उस राजा को देखो जिसे तुम ने चुन लिया, और जिसके लिये तुम ने प्रार्थना की थी; देखो, यहोवा ने ऐ राजा तुम्हारे ऊपर नियुक्त कर दिया है।

13. Now therefore see the king whom you have chosen, and whom you have asked for: and, behold, Yahweh has set a king over you.

14. यदि तुम यहोवा का भय मानते, उसकी उपासना करते, और उसकी बात सुनते रहो, और यहोवा की आज्ञा को टालकर उस से बलवा न करो, और तुम और वह जो तुम पर राजा हुआ है दोनो अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के पीछे पीछे चलनेवाले बने रहो, तब तो भला होगा;

14. If you will fear Yahweh, and serve him, and listen to his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of Yahweh, and both you and also the king who reigns over you are followers of Yahweh your God, well:

15. परन्तु यदि तुम यहोवा की बात न मानो, और यहोवा की आज्ञा को टालकर उस से बलवा करो, तो यहोवा का हाथ जैसे तुम्हारे पुरखाओं के विरूद्ध हुआ वैसे ही तुम्हारे भी विरूद्ध उठेगा।

15. but if you will not listen to the voice of Yahweh, but rebel against the commandment of Yahweh, then will the hand of Yahweh be against you, as it was against your fathers.

16. इसलिये अब तुम खड़े रहो, और इस बड़े काम को देखो जिसे यहोवा तुम्हारे आंखों के साम्हने करने पर है।

16. Now therefore stand still and see this great thing, which Yahweh will do before your eyes.

17. आज क्या गेहूं की कटनी नहीं हो रही? मैं यहोवा को पुकारूंगा, और वह मेघ गरजाएगा और मेंह बरसाएगा; तब तुम जान लोगे, और देख भी लोगे, कि तुम ने राजा मांगकर यहोवा की दृष्टि में बहुत बड़ी बुराई की है।

17. Isn't it wheat harvest today? I will call to Yahweh, that he may send thunder and rain; and you shall know and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in the sight of Yahweh, in asking you a king.

18. तब शमूएल ने यहोवा का पुकारा, और यहोवा ने उसी दिन मेघ गरजाया और मेंह बरसाया; और सब लोग यहोवा से और शमूएल से अत्यन्त डर गए।

18. So Samuel called to Yahweh; and Yahweh sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared Yahweh and Samuel.

19. और सब लोगों ने शमूएल से कहा, अपने दासों के निमित्त अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से प्रार्थना कर, कि हम मर न जाएं; क्योंकि हम ने अपने सारे पापों से बढ़कर यह बुराई की है कि राजा मांगा है।

19. All the people said to Samuel, Pray for your servants to Yahweh your God, that we not die; for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

20. शमूएल ने लोगों से कहा, डरो मत; तुम ने यह सब बुराई तो की है, परन्तु अब यहोवा के पीछे चलने से फिर मत मुड़ना; परन्तु अपने सम्पूर्ण मन से उस की उपासना करना;

20. Samuel said to the people, 'Don't be afraid; you have indeed done all this evil; yet don't turn aside from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh with all your heart:

21. और मत मुड़ना; नहीं तो ऐसी व्यर्थ वस्तुओं के पीछे चलने लगोगे जिन से न कुछ लाभ पहुंचेगा, और न कुछ छुटकारा हो सकता है, क्योंकि वे सब व्यर्थ ही हैं।

21. and don't turn aside; for then would you go after vain things which can't profit nor deliver, for they are vain.

22. यहोवा तो अपने बड़े नाम के कारण अपनी प्रजा को न तजेगा, क्योंकि यहोवा ने तुम्हे अपनी ही इच्छा से अपनी प्रजा बनाया है।
रोमियों 11:1-2

22. For Yahweh will not forsake his people for his great name's sake, because it has pleased Yahweh to make you a people to himself.

23. फिर यह मुझ से दूर हो कि मैं तुम्हारे लिये प्रार्थना करना छोड़कर यहोवा के विरूद्ध पापी ठहरूं; मैं तो तुम्हें अच्छा और सीधा मार्ग दिखाता रहूंगा।

23. Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Yahweh in ceasing to pray for you: but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.

24. केवल इतना हो कि तुम लोग यहोवा का भय मानो, और सच्चाई से अपने सम्पूर्ण मान के साथ उसकी उपासना करो; क्योंकि यह तो सोचो कि उस ने तुम्हारे लिये कैसे बड़े बड़े काम किए हैं।

24. Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things he has done for you.

25. परन्तु यदि तुम बुराई करते ही रहोगे, तो तुम और तुम्हारा राजा दोनों के दोनों मिट जाओगे।

25. But if you shall still do wickedly, you shall be consumed, both you and your king.'
