1. इसलिये हे मेरे पुत्रा, तू उस अनुग्रह से जो मसीह यीशु में है, बलवन्त हो जा।

1. Timothy, you are a son to me. Be strong in the grace that we have because we belong to Christ Jesus.

2. और जो बातें तू ने बहुत गवाहों के साम्हने मुझ से सुनी है, उन्हें विश्वासी मनुष्यों को सौंप दे; जो औरों को भी सिखाने के योग्य हों।

2. What you have heard me teach publicly you should teach to others. Share these teachings with people you can trust. Then they will be able to teach others these same things.

3. मसीह यीशु के अच्छे योद्धा की नाई मेरे साथ दुख उठा।

3. As a good soldier of Christ Jesus, accept your share of the troubles we have.

4. जब कोई योद्धा लड़ाई पर जाता है, तो इसलिये कि अपने भरती करनेवाले को प्रसन्न करे, अपने आप को संसार के कामों में नहीं फंसाता

4. A soldier wants to please his commanding officer, so he does not spend any time on activities that are not a part of his duty.

5. फिर अखाड़े में लडनेवाला यदि विधि के अनुसार न लड़े तो मुकुट नहीं पाता।

5. Athletes in a race must obey all the rules to win.

6. जो गृहस्थ परिश्रम करता है, फल का अंश पहिले उसे मिलना चाहिए।

6. It is the farmer who works hard that deserves the first part of the harvest.

7. जो मैं कहता हूं, उस पर ध्यान दे और प्रभु तुझे सब बातों की समझ देगा।

7. Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand it all.

8. यीशु मसीह को स्मरण रख, जो दाऊद के वंश से हुआ, और मरे हुओं में से जी उठा; और यह मरे सुसमाचार के अनुसार है।

8. Remember Jesus Christ. He is from the family of David. After Jesus died, he was raised from death. This is the Good News that I tell people.

9. जिस के लिये मैं कुकर्मी की नाई दुख उठाता हूं, यहां तक कि कैद भी हूं; परन्तु परमेश्वर का वचन कैद नहीं।

9. And because I tell that message, I am suffering. I am even bound with chains like someone who has really done wrong. But God's message is not bound.

10. इस कारण मैं चुने हुए लोगों के लिये सब कुछ सहता हूं, कि वे भी उस उद्धार को जो मसीह यीशु में हैं अनन्त महिमा के साथ पाएं।

10. So I patiently accept all these troubles. I do this to help the people God has chosen so that they can have the salvation that is in Christ Jesus. With this salvation comes glory that never ends.

11. यह बात सच है, कि यदि हम उसके साथ मर गए हैं तो उसके साथ जीएंगे भी।

11. Here is a true statement: If we died with him, we will also live with him.

12. यदि हम धीरज से सहते रहेंगे, तो उसके साथ राज्य भी करेंगे : यदि हम उसका इन्कार करेंगे तो वह भी हमारा इन्कार करेगा।

12. If we remain faithful even in suffering, we will also rule with him. If we refuse to say we know him, he will refuse to say he knows us.

13. यदि हम अविश्वासी भी हों तौभी वह विश्वासयोग्य बना रहता है, क्योंकि वह आप अपना इन्कार नहीं कर सकता।।

13. If we are not faithful, he will still be faithful, because he cannot be false to himself.

14. इन बातों की सुधि उन्हें दिला, और प्रभु के साम्हने चिता दे, कि शब्दों पर तर्क- वितर्क न किया करें, जिन से कुछ लाभ नहीं होता; बरन सुननेवाले बिगड़ जाते हैं।

14. Keep on telling everyone these truths. And warn them before God not to argue about words. Such arguments don't help anyone, and they ruin those who listen to them.

15. अपने आप को परमेश्वर का ग्रहणयोग्य और ऐसा काम करनेवाला ठहराने का प्रयत्न कर, जो लज्जित होने न पाए, और जो सत्य के वचन को ठीक रीति से काम में लाता हो।

15. Do your best to be the kind of person God will accept, and give yourself to him. Be a worker who has no reason to be ashamed of his work, one who applies the true teaching in the right way.

16. पर अशुद्ध बकवाद से बचा रह; क्योंकि ऐसे लोग और भी अभक्ति में बढ़ते जाएंगे।

16. Stay away from people who talk about useless things that are not from God. That kind of talk will lead a person more and more against God.

17. और उन का वचन सड़े- घाव की नाईं फैलता जाएगा: हुमिनयुस और फिलेतुस उन्हीं में से हैं।

17. Their evil teaching will spread like a sickness inside the body. Hymenaeus and Philetus are men like that.

18. जो यह कहकर कि पुनरूत्थान हो चुका है सत्य से भटक गए हैं, और कितनों के विश्वास को उलट पुलट कर देते हैं।

18. They have left the true teaching. They say that the day when people will be raised from death has already come and gone. And they are destroying the faith of some people.

19. तौभी परमेश्वर की पक्की नेव बनी रहती है, और उस पर यह छाप लगी है, कि प्रभु अपनों को पहिचानता है; और जो कोई प्रभु का नाम लेता है, वह अधर्म से बचा रहे।

19. But God's strong foundation never moves, and these words are written on it: 'The Lord knows those who belong to him.' Also, these words are written there: 'Everyone who says they believe in the Lord must stop doing wrong.'

20. बड़े घर में न केवल सोने- चान्दी ही के, पर काठ और मिट्टी के बरतन भी होते हैं; कोई कोई आदर, और कोई कोई अनादर के लिये।

20. In a large house there are things made of gold and silver. But there are also things made of wood and clay. Some of these are used for special purposes, others for ordinary jobs.

21. यदि कोई अपने आप को इन से शुद्ध करेगा, तो वह आदर का बरतन, और पवित्रा ठहरेगा; और स्वामी के काम आएगा, और हर भले काम के लिये तैयार होगा।

21. The Lord wants to use you for special purposes, so make yourself clean from all evil. Then you will be holy, and the Master can use you. You will be ready for any good work.

22. जवानी की अभिलाषाओं से भाग; और जो शुद्ध मन से प्रभु का नाम लेते हैं, उन के साथ धर्म, और विश्वास, और प्रेम, और मेल- मिलाप का पीछा कर।

22. Stay away from the evil things a young person like you typically wants to do. Do your best to live right and to have faith, love, and peace, together with others who trust in the Lord with pure hearts.

23. पर मूर्खता, और अविद्या के विवादों से अलग रह; क्योंकि तू जानता है, कि उन से झगड़े होते हैं।

23. Stay away from foolish and stupid arguments. You know that these arguments grow into bigger arguments.

24. और प्रभु के दास को झगड़ालू होना न चाहिए, पर सब के साथ कोमल और शिक्षा में निपुण, और सहनशील हो।

24. As a servant of the Lord, you must not argue. You must be kind to everyone. You must be a good teacher, and you must be patient.

25. और विरोधियों को नम्रता से समझाए, क्या जाने परमेश्वर उन्हें मन फिराव का मन दे, कि वे भी सत्य को पहिचानें।

25. You must gently teach those who don't agree with you. Maybe God will let them change their hearts so that they can accept the truth.

26. और इस के द्वारा उस की इच्छा पूरी करने के लिये सचेत होकर शैतान के फंदे से छूट जाए।।

26. The devil has trapped them and now makes them do what he wants. But maybe they can wake up to see what is happening and free themselves from the devil's trap.
