1. मैंने अपने मन में यही ठान लिया था कि फिर तुम्हारे पास उदास होकर न आऊं।

1. But I determyned this wt my selfe, that I wolde not come agayne to you in heuynes.

2. क्योंकि यदि मैं तुम्हें उदास करूं, तो मुझे आनन्द देनेवाला कौन होगा, केवल वही जिस को मैं ने उदास किया?

2. For yf I make you sory, who is it that shal make me glad, but the same which is made sory by me?

3. और मैं ने यही बात तुम्हें इसलिये लिखी, कि कहीं ऐसा न हो, कि मेरे आने पर जिन से आनन्द मिलना चाहिए, मैं उन से उदास होऊं; क्योंकि मुझे तुम सब पर इस बात का भरोसा है, कि जो मेरा आनन्द है, वही तुम सब का भी है।

3. And the same haue I wrytten vnto you, lest wha I come, I shulde take heuynes of them, of whom I oughte to reioyse: for somoch as I haue this confidence in you all, that my ioye is the ioye of you all.

4. बड़े क्लेश, और मन के कष्ट से, मैं ने बहुत से आंसु बहा बहाकर तुम्हें लिखा, इसलिये नहीं, कि तुम उदास हो, परन्तु इसलिये कि तुम उस बड़े प्रेम को जान लो, जो मुझे तुम से है।।

4. For in greate trouble and anguysh of hert wrote I vnto you with many teares: not yt ye shulde be sory, but that ye mighte perceaue the loue, which I haue most specially vnto you.

5. और यदि किसी ने उदास किया है, तो मुझे ही नहीं बरन (कि उसके साथ बहुत कड़ाई न करूं) कुछ कुछ तुम सब को भी उदास किया है।

5. But yf eny man haue caused sorowe, the same hath not made me sory, but partely, lest I shulde greue you all.

6. ऐसे जन के लिये यह दण्ड जो भाइयों में से बहुतों ने दिया, बहुत है।

6. It is sufficient, that the same man is so rebuked of many,

7. इसलिये इस से यह भला है कि उसका अपराध क्षमा करो; और शान्ति दो, न हो कि ऐसा मनुष्य उदासी में डूब जाए।

7. so that from hence forth ye oughte the more to forgeue him and to comforte him, lest he be swalowed vp in ouer moch heuynesse.

8. इस कारण मैं तुम से बिनती करता हूं, कि उस को अपने प्रेम का प्रमाण दो।

8. Wherfore I exhorte you, that ye shewe loue vpo him.

9. क्योंकि मैं ने इसलिये भी लिखा था, कि तुम्हें परख लूं, कि सब बातों के मानने के लिये तैयार हो, कि नहीं।

9. For therfore dyd I wryte vnto you also, that I mighte knowe the profe of you, whether ye were obediet in all thinges.

10. जिस का तुम कुछ क्षमा करते हो उस मैं भी क्षमा करता हूं, क्योंकि मैं ने भी जो कुछ क्षमा किया है, यदि किया हो, तो तुम्हारे कारण मसीह की जगह में होकर क्षमा किया है।

10. But loke vnto who ye forgeue eny thinge, I forgeue hi also. For I also, yf I forgeue ought vnto eny ma, that forgeue I for youre sakes in the rowme of Christ,

11. कि शैतान का हम पर दांव न चले, क्योंकि हम उस की युक्तियों से अनजान नहीं।

11. lest we shulde be preuented of Sathan. For his thoughtes are not vnknowne vnto vs.

12. और जब मैं मसीह का सुसमाचार, सुनाने को त्रोआस में आया, और प्रभु ने मेरे लिये एक द्वार खोल दिया।

12. But wha I came to Troada to preach ye Gospell of Christ (and a dore was opened vnto me in ye LODRE)

13. तो मेरे मन में चैन ने मिला, इसलिये कि मैं ने अपने भाई तितुस को नहीं पाया; सो उन से विदा होकर मैं मकिदुनिया को चला गया।

13. I had no rest in my sprete, because I founde not Titus my brother: but I toke my leue of them, and wente awaye in to Macedonia.

14. परन्तु परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद हो, जो मसीह में सदा हम को जय के उत्सव में लिये फिरता है, और अपने ज्ञान का सुगन्ध हमारे द्वारा हर जगह फैलाता है।

14. Yet thankes be vnto God, which all waye geueth vs the victory in Christ, and openeth ye fauoure of his knowlege by vs in euery place.

15. क्योंकि हम परमेश्वर के निकट उद्धार पानेवालों, और नाश होनेवालों, दोनो के लिये मसीह के सुगन्ध हैं।

15. For we are vnto God the good fauoure of Christ, both amonge the yt are saued, & amonge them yt perishe.

16. कितनो के लिये तो मरने के निमित्त मृन्यु की गन्ध, और कितनो के लिये जीवन के निमित्त जीवन की सुगन्ध, और इन बातों के योग्य कौन है?

16. To these, ye sauoure of death vnto death: but vnto ye other, the sauoure of life vnto life. And who is mete therto?

17. क्योंकि हम उन बहुतों के समान नहीं, जो परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करते हैं; परन्तु मन की सच्चाई से, और परमेश्वर की ओर से परमेश्वर को उपस्थित जानकर मसीह में बोलते हैं।।

17. For we are not as many are, which choppe & chaunge wt the worde of God, but eue out of purenesse, and out of God, in ye sighte of God, so speake we in Christ.
