1. जब वे यरूशलेम के निकट पहुंचे और जैतून पहाड़ पर बैतफगे के पास आए, तो यीशु ने दो चेलों को यह कहकर भेजा।

1. Jesus and his followers were coming closer to Jerusalem. But first they stopped at Bethphage at the hill called the Mount of Olives. From there Jesus sent two of his followers into town.

2. कि अपने साम्हने के गांव में जाओ, वहां पंहुचते ही एक गदही बन्धी हुई, और उसके साथ बच्चा तुम्हें मिलेगा; उन्हें खोलकर, मेरे पास ले आओ।

2. He said to them, 'Go to the town you can see there. When you enter it, you will find a donkey with her colt. Untie them both, and bring them to me.

3. यदि तुम में से कोई कुछ कहे, तो कहो, कि प्रभु को इन का प्रयोजन है: तब वह तुरन्त उन्हें भेज देगा।

3. If anyone asks you why you are taking the donkeys, tell them, 'The Master needs them. He will send them back soon.''

4. यह इसलिये हुआ, कि जो वचन भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा कहा गया था, वह पूरा हो;

4. This showed the full meaning of what the prophet said,

5. कि सिरयोन की बेटी से कहो, देख, तेरा राजा तेरे पास आता है; वह नम्र है और गदहे पर बैठा है; बरन लादू के बच्चे पर।

5. Tell the people of Zion, 'Now your king is coming to you. He is humble and riding on a donkey. He is riding on a young donkey, born from a work animal.''

6. चेलों ने जाकर, जैसा यीशु ने उन से कहा था, वैसा ही किया।

6. The followers went and did what Jesus told them to do.

7. और गदही और बच्चे को लाकर, उन पर अपने कपड़े डाले, और वह उन पर बैठ गया।

7. They brought the mother donkey and the young donkey to him. They covered the donkeys with their coats, and Jesus sat on them.

8. और बहुतेरे लोगों ने अपने कपड़े मार्ग में बिछाए, और और लोगों ने पेड़ों से डालियां काटकर मार्ग में बिछाई।

8. On the way to Jerusalem many people spread their coats on the road for Jesus. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

9. Some of the people were walking ahead of Jesus. Others were walking behind him. They all shouted, 'Praise to the Son of David! 'Welcome! God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!' Praise to God in heaven!'

10. जब उस ने यरूशलेम में प्रवेश किया, तो सारे नगर में हलचल मच गई; और लोग कहने लगे, यह कौन है?

10. Then Jesus went into Jerusalem. All the people in the city were confused. They asked, 'Who is this man?'

11. लोगों ने कहा, यह गलील के नासरत का भविष्यद्वक्ता यीशु है।।

11. The crowds following Jesus answered, 'This is Jesus. He is the prophet from the town of Nazareth in Galilee.'

12. यीशु ने परमेश्वर के मन्दिर में जाकर, उन सब को, जो मन्दिर में लेन देन कर रहे थे, निकाल दिया; और सर्राफों के पीढ़े और कबूतरों के बेचनेवालों की चौकियां उलट दीं।

12. Jesus went into the Temple area. He threw out all those who were selling and buying things there. He turned over the tables that belonged to those who were exchanging different kinds of money. And he turned over the benches of those who were selling doves.

13. और उन से कहा, लिखा है, कि मेरा घर प्रार्थना का घर कहलाएगा; परन्तु तुम उसे डाकुओं की खोह बनाते हो।
यशायाह 56:7, यशायाह 60:7, यिर्मयाह 7:11

13. Jesus said to them, 'The Scriptures say, 'My Temple will be called a house of prayer.' But you are changing it into a 'hiding place for thieves.' '

14. और अन्धे और लंगड़े, मन्दिर में उसके पास लाए, और उस ने उन्हें चंगा किया।

14. Some blind people and some who were crippled came to Jesus in the Temple area. Jesus healed them.

15. परन्तु जब महायजकों और शास्त्रियों ने इन अद्भुत कामों को, जो उस ने किए, और लड़कों को मन्दिर में दाऊद की सन्तान को होशाना पुकारते हुए देखा, तो क्रोधित होकर उस से कहने लगे, क्या तू सुनता है कि ये क्या कहते हैं?

15. The leading priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he was doing. And they saw the children praising him in the Temple area. The children were shouting, 'Praise to the Son of David. ' All this made the priests and the teachers of the law angry.

16. यीशु ने उन से कहा, हां; क्या तुम ने यह कभी नहीं पढ़ा, कि बालकों और दूध पीते बच्चों के मुंह से तु ने स्तुति सिद्ध कराई?
भजन संहिता 8:2

16. They asked Jesus, 'Do you hear what these children are saying?' He answered, 'Yes. The Scriptures say, 'You have taught children and babies to give praise.' Have you not read that Scripture?'

17. तब वह उन्हें छोड़कर नगर के बाहर बैतनिरयाह को गया, ओर वहंा रात बिताई।।

17. Then Jesus left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

18. भोर को जब वह नगर को लौट रहा था, तो उसे भूख लगी।

18. Early the next morning, Jesus was going back to the city. He was very hungry.

19. और अंजीर के पेड़ सड़क के किनारे देखकर वह उसके पास गया, और पत्तों को छोड़ उस में और कुछ न पाकर उस से कहा, अब से तुझ में फिर कभी फल न लगे; और अंजीर का पेड़ तुरन्त सुख गया।

19. He saw a fig tree beside the road and went to get a fig from it. But there were no figs on the tree. There were only leaves. So Jesus said to the tree, 'You will never again produce fruit!' The tree immediately dried up and died.

20. यह देखकर चेलों ने अचम्भा किया, और कहा, यह अंजीर का पेड़ क्योंकर तुरन्त सूख गया?

20. When the followers saw this, they were very surprised. They asked, 'How did the fig tree dry up and die so quickly?'

21. यीशु ने उन को उत्तर दिया, कि मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं; यदि तुम विश्वास रखो, और सन्देह न करो; तो न केवल यह करोगे, जो इस अंजीर के पेड़ से किया गया है; परन्तु यदि इस पहाड़ से भी कहोगे, कि उखड़ जो; और समुद्र में जा पड़, तो यह हो जाएगा।

21. Jesus answered, 'The truth is, if you have faith and no doubts, you will be able to do the same as I did to this tree. And you will be able to do more. You will be able to say to this mountain, 'Go, mountain, fall into the sea.' And if you have faith, it will happen.

22. और जो कुछ तुम प्रार्थना में विश्वास से मांगोगे वह सब तुम को मिलेगा।।

22. If you believe, you will get anything you ask for in prayer.'

23. वह मन्दिर में जाकर उपदेश कर रहा था, कि महायाजकों और लोगों के पुरनियों ने उसके पास आकर पूछा, तू ये काम किस के अधिकार से करता है? और तुझे यह अधिकार किस ने दिया है?

23. Jesus went into the Temple area. While Jesus was teaching there, the leading priests and the older leaders of the people came to him. They said, 'Tell us! What authority do you have to do these things you are doing? Who gave you this authority?'

24. यीशु ने उन को उत्तर दिया, कि मैं भी तुम से एक बात पूछता हूं; यदि वह मुझे बताओगे, तो मैं भी तुम्हें बताऊंगा; कि ये काम किस अधिकार से करता हूं।

24. Jesus answered, 'I will ask you a question too. If you answer me, then I will tell you what authority I have to do these things.

25. यूहन्ना का बपतिस्मा कहां से था? स्वर्ग की ओर से या मनुष्यों की ओर से था? तब वे आपस में विवाद करने लगे, कि यदि हम कहें स्वर्ग की ओर से, तो वह हमे से कहेगा, फिर तुम ने उस की प्रतीति क्यों न की?

25. Tell me: When John baptized people, did his authority come from God, or was it only from other people?' The priests and the Jewish leaders talked about Jesus' question. They said to each other, 'If we answer, 'John's baptism was from God,' then he will say, 'Then why didn't you believe John?'

26. और यदि कहें मनुष्यों की ओर से तो हमें भीड़ का डर है; क्योंकि वे सब युहन्ना को भविष्यद्वक्ता जानते हैं।

26. But we can't say John's baptism was from someone else. We are afraid of the people, because they all believe John was a prophet. '

27. सो उन्हों ने यीशु को उत्तर दिया, कि हम नहीं जानते; उस ने भी उन से कहा, तो मैं भी तुम्हें नहीं बताता, कि ये काम किस अधिकार से करता हूं।

27. So they told Jesus, 'We don't know the answer.' Jesus said, 'Then I will not tell you who gave me the authority to do these things.

28. तुम क्या समझते हो? किसी मनुष्य के दो पुत्रा थे; उस ने पहिले के पास जाकर कहा; हे पुत्रा आज दाख की बारी में काम कर।

28. Tell me what you think about this: There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first son and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard. '

29. उस ने उत्तर दिया, मैं नहीं जाऊंगा, परन्तु पीछे पछता कर गया।

29. The son answered, 'I will not go.' But later he decided he should go, and he went.

30. फिर दूसरे के पास जाकर ऐसा ही कहा, उस ने उत्तर दिया, जी हां जाता हूं, परन्तु नहीं गया।

30. Then the father went to the other son and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.' He answered, 'Yes, sir, I will go and work.' But he did not go.

31. इन दोनों में से किस ने पिता की इच्छा पूरी की? उन्हों ने कहा, पहिले ने: यीशु ने उन से कहा, मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि महसूल लेनेवाले और वेश्या तुम से पहिले परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश करते हैं।

31. Which of the two sons obeyed his father?' The Jewish leaders answered, 'The first son.' Jesus said to them, 'The truth is, you are worse than the tax collectors and the prostitutes. In fact, they will enter God's kingdom before you enter.

32. क्योंकि यूहन्ना धर्म के मार्ग से तुम्हारे पास आया, और तुम ने उस की प्रतीति न की: पर महसूल लेनेवालों और वेश्याओं ने उस की प्रतीति की: और तुम यह देखकर पीछे भी न पछताए कि उस की प्रतीति कर लेते।।

32. John came showing you the right way to live, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes believed John. You saw that happening, but you would not change. You still refused to believe him.

33. एक और दृष्टान्त सुनो: एक गृहस्थ था, जिस ने दाख की बारी लगाई; और उसके चारों ओर बाड़ा बान्धा; और उस मे रस का कुंड खोदा; और गुम्मट बनाया; और किसानों को उसका ठीका देकर परदेश चला गया।
यशायाह 5:1-7

33. Listen to this story: There was a man who owned a vineyard. He put a wall around the field and dug a hole for a winepress. Then he built a tower. He leased the land to some farmers and then left on a trip.

34. जब फल का समय निकट आया, तो उस ने अपने दासों को उसका फल लेने के लिये किसानों के पास भेजा।

34. Later, it was time for the grapes to be picked. So the man sent his servants to the farmers to get his share of the grapes.

35. पर किसानों ने उसके दासों को पकड़ के, किसी को पीटा, और किसी को मार डाला; और किसी को पत्थरवाह किया।

35. But the farmers grabbed the servants and beat one. They killed another one and then stoned to death a third servant.

36. फिर उस ने और दासों को भेजा, जो पहिलों से अधिक थे; और उन्हों ने उन से भी वैसा ही किया।

36. So the man sent some other servants to the farmers. He sent more servants than he sent the first time. But the farmers did the same thing to them that they did the first time.

37. अन्त में उस ने अपने पुत्रा को उन के पास यह कहकर भेजा, कि वे मेरे पुत्रा का आदर करेंगे।

37. So the man decided to send his son to the farmers. He said, 'The farmers will respect my son.'

38. परन्तु किसानों ने पुत्रा को देखकर आपस में कहा, यह तो वारिस है, आओ, उसे मार डालें: और उस की मीरास ले लें।

38. But when the farmers saw the son, they said to each other, 'This is the owner's son. This vineyard will be his. If we kill him, it will be ours.'

39. और उन्हों ने उसे पकड़ा और दाख की बारी से बाहर निकालकर मार डाला।

39. So the farmers took the son, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

40. इसलिये जब दाख की बारी का स्वामी आएगा, तो उन किसानों के साथ क्या करेगा?

40. 'So what will the owner of the vineyard do to these farmers when he comes?'

41. उन्होंने उस से कहा, वह उन बुरे लोगों को बुरी रीति से नाश करेगा; और दाख की बारी का ठीका और किसानों को देगा, जो समय पर उसे फल दिया करेंगे।

41. The Jewish priests and leaders said, 'He will surely kill those evil men. Then he will lease the land to other farmers, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.'

42. यीशु ने उन से कहा, क्या तुम ने कभी पवित्रा शास्त्रा में यह नहीं पढ़ा, कि जिस पत्थर को राजमिस्त्रियों ने निकम्मा ठहराया था, वही कोने के सिरे का पत्थर हो गया?
भजन संहिता 118:22-23

42. Jesus said to them, 'Surely you have read this in the Scriptures: 'The stone that the builders refused to accept became the cornerstone. The Lord did this, and it is wonderful to us.'

43. यह प्रभु की ओर से हुआ, और हमारे देखते में अद्भुत है, इसलिये मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि परमेश्वर का राज्य तुम से ले लिया जाएगा; और ऐसी जाति को जो उसका फल लाए, दिया जाएगा।

43. So I tell you that God's kingdom will be taken away from you. It will be given to people who do what God wants in his kingdom.

44. जो इस पत्थर पर गिरेगा, वह चकनाचूर हो जाएगा: और जिस पर वह गिरेगा, उस को पीस डालेगा।
यशायाह 8:14-15, दानिय्येल 2:34-35, दानिय्येल 2:44-45

44. Whoever falls on this stone will be broken. And it will crush anyone it falls on.'

45. महायाजक और फरीसी उसके दृष्टान्तों को सुनकर समझ गए, कि वह हमारे विषय में कहता है।

45. When the leading priests and the Pharisees heard these stories, they knew that Jesus was talking about them.

46. और उन्हों ने उसे पकड़ना चाहा, परन्तु लोगों से डर गए क्योंकि वे उसे भविष्यद्वक्ता जानते थे।।

46. They wanted to find a way to arrest Jesus. But they were afraid to do anything, because the people believed that Jesus was a prophet.
