1. हेरोदेस राजा के दिनों में जब यहूदिया के बैतलहम में यीशु का जन्म हुआ, तो देखो, पूर्व से कई ज्योतिषी यरूशलेम में आकर पूछने लगे।

1. Therfor whanne Jhesus was borun in Bethleem of Juda, in the daies of king Eroude, lo! astromyenes camen fro the eest to Jerusalem,

2. कि यहूदियों का राजा जिस का जन्म हुआ है, कहां है? क्योंकि हम ने पूर्व में उसका तारा देखा है और उस को प्रणाम करने आए हैं।

3. यह सुनकर हेरोदेस राजा और उसके साथ सारा यरूशलेम घबरा गया।

3. But king Eroude herde, and was trublid, and al Jerusalem with hym.

4. और उस ने लोगों के सब महायाजकों और शास्त्रियों को इकट्ठे करके उन से पूछा, कि मसीह का जन्म कहाँ होना चाहिए?

4. And he gaderide to gidre alle the prynces of prestis, and scribis of the puple, and enqueride of hem, where Crist shulde be borun.

5. उन्हों ने उस से कहा, यहूदिया के बैतलहम में; क्योंकि भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा यों लिखा है।

5. And thei seiden to hym, In Bethleem of Juda; for so it is writun bi a profete,

6. कि हे बैतलहम, जो यहूदा के देश में है, तू किसी रीति से यहूदा के अधिकारियों में सब से छोटा नहीं; क्योंकि तुझ में से एक अधिपति निकलेगा, जो मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल की रखवाली करेगा।

6. And thou, Bethleem, the lond of Juda, art not the leest among the prynces of Juda; for of thee a duyk schal go out, that schal gouerne my puple of Israel.

7. तब हेरोदेस ने ज्योतिषियों को चुपके से बुलाकर उन से पूछा, कि तारा ठीक किस समय दिखाई दिया था।

8. और उस ने यह कहकर उन्हें बैतलहम भेजा, कि जाकर उस बालक के विषय में ठीक ठीक मालूम करो और जब वह मिल जाए तो मुझे समाचार दो ताकि मैं भी आकर उस को प्रणाम करूं।

8. And he sente hem in to Bethleem, and seide, Go ye, and axe ye bisili of the child, and whanne yee han foundun, telle ye it to me, that Y also come, and worschipe hym.

9. वे राजा की बात सुनकर चले गए, और देखो, जो तारा उन्हों ने पूर्व में देखा था, वह उन के आगे आगे चला, और जंहा बालक था। उस जगह के ऊपर पंहुचकर ठहर गया।।

9. And whanne thei hadden herd the kyng, thei wenten forth. And lo! the sterre, that thei siyen in the eest, wente bifore hem, til it cam, and stood aboue, where the child was.

10. उस तारे को देखकर वे अति आनन्दित हुए।

10. And thei siyen the sterre, and ioyeden with a ful greet ioye.

11. और उस घर में पहुंचकर उस बालक को उस की माता मरियम के साथ देखा, और मुंह के बल गिरकर उसे प्रणाम किया; और अपना अपना थैला खोलकर उसे सोना, और लोहबान, और गन्धरस की भेंट चढ़ाई।

11. And thei entriden in to the hous, and founden the child with Marie, his modir; and thei felden doun, and worschipiden him. And whanne thei hadden openyd her tresouris, thei offryden to hym yiftis, gold, encense, and myrre.

12. और स्वप्न में यह चितौनी पाकर कि हेरोदेस के पास फिर न जाना, वे दूसरे मार्ग से होकर अपने देश को चले गए।।

12. And whanne thei hadden take an aunswere in sleep, that thei schulden not turne ayen to Eroude, thei turneden ayen bi anothir weie in to her cuntrey.

13. उन के चले जाने के बाद देखो, प्रभु के एक दूत ने स्वप्न में यूसुफ को दिखाई देकर कहा, उठ; उस बालक को और उस की माता को लेकर मि देश को भाग जा; और जब तक मैं तुझ से न कहूं, तब तक वही रहना; क्योंकि हेरोदेस इस बालक को ढूंढ़ने पर है कि उसे मरवा डाले।

13. And whanne thei weren goon, lo! the aungel of the Lord apperide to Joseph in sleep, and seide, Rise vp, and take the child and his modir, and fle in to Egipt, and be thou there, til that I seie to thee; for it is to come, that Eroude seke the child, to destrie hym.

14. वह रात ही को उठकर बालक और उस की माता को लेकर मि को चल दिया।

14. And Joseph roos, and took the child and his modir bi nyyt, and wente in to Egipt,

15. और हेरोदेस के मरने तक वहीं रहा; इसलिये कि वह वचन जो प्रभु ने भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा कहा था कि मैं ने अपने पुत्रा को मि से बुलाया पूरा हो।
होशे 11:1

15. and he was there to the deeth of Eroude; that it schulde be fulfillid, that was seid of the Lord bi the profete, seiynge, Fro Egipt Y haue clepid my sone.

16. जब हेरोदेस ने यह देखा, कि ज्योतिषियों ने मेरे साथ ठट्ठा किया है, तब वह क्रोध से भर गया; और लोगों को भेजकर ज्योतिषियों से ठीक ठीक पूछे हुए समय के अनुसार बैतलहम और उसके आस पास के सब लड़कों को जो दो वर्ष के, वा उस से छोटे थे, मरवा डाला।

16. Thanne Eroude seynge that he was disseyued of the astromyens, was ful wrooth; and he sente, and slowe alle the children, that weren in Bethleem, and in alle the coostis therof, fro two yeer age and with inne, aftir the tyme that he had enquerid of the astromyens.

17. तब जो वचन यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा कहा गया था, वह पूरा हुआ,

17. Thanne `it was fulfillid, that was seid bi Jeremye, the profete,

18. कि रामाह में एक करूण- नाद सुनाई दिया, रोना और बड़ा विलाप, राहेल अपने बालकों के लिये रो रही थी, और शान्त होना न चाहती थी, क्योंकि वे हैं नहीं।।

18. seiynge, A vois was herd an hiy, wepynge and moche weilyng, Rachel biwepynge hir sones, and she wolde not be coumfortid, for thei ben noyt.

19. हेरोदेस के मरने के बाद देखो, प्रभु के दूत ने मि में यूसुफ को स्वप्न में दिखाई देकर कहा।

19. But whanne Eroude was deed, loo! the aungel of the Lord apperide to Joseph in sleep in Egipt,

20. कि उठ, बालक और उस की माता को लेकर इस्राएल के देश में चला जा; क्योंकि जो बालक के प्राण लेना चाहते थे, वे मर गए।

20. and seide, Ryse vp, and take the child and his modir, and go in to the lond of Israel; for thei that souyten the lijf of the chijld ben deed.

21. वह उठा, और बालक और उस की माता को साथ लेकर इस्राएल के देश में आया।

21. Joseph roos, and took the child and his modir, and cam in to the loond of Israel.

22. परन्तु यह सुनकर कि अरखिलाउस अपने पिता हेरोदेस की जगह यहूदिया पर राज्य कर रहा है, वहां जाने से डरा; और स्वप्न में चितौनी पाकर गलील देश में चला गया।

22. And he herde that Archilaus regnede in Judee for Eroude, his fadir, and dredde to go thidir. And he was warned in sleep, and wente in to the parties of Galilee;

23. और नासरत नाम नगर में जा बसा; ताकि वह वचन पूरा हो, जो भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के द्वारा कहा गया था, कि वह नासरी कहलाएगा।।
