1. जिस समय यहोवा ने सीनै पर्वत के पास मूसा से बातें की उस समय हारून और मूसा की यह वंशावली थी।

1. This is the family history of Aaron and Moses at the time the Lord talked to Moses on Mount Sinai.

2. हारून के पुत्रों के नाम ये हैं: नादाब जो उसका जेठा था, और अबीहू, एलीआजार और ईतामार;

2. Aaron had four sons. Nadab was the firstborn son. Then there were Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3. हारून के पुत्रा, जो अभिषिक्त याजक थे, और उनका संस्कार याजक का काम करने के लिये हुआ था उनके नाम ये ही हैं।

3. These sons were the chosen priests. They were given the special work of serving the Lord as priests.

4. नादाब और अबीहू जिस समय सीनै के जंगल में यहोवा के सम्मुख ऊपरी आग ले गए उसी समय यहोवा के साम्हने मर गए थे; और वे पुत्राहीन भी थे। एलीआजर और ईतामार अपने पिता हारून के साम्हने याजक का काम करते रहे।।

4. But Nadab and Abihu died while serving the Lord. They used fire that the Lord did not allow when they made an offering to him. So Nadab and Abihu died there, in the Sinai desert. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar took their place and served the Lord as priests. This happened while their father Aaron was still alive.

5. फिर यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

5. The Lord said to Moses,

6. लेवी गोत्रावालों को समीप ले आकर हारून याजक के साम्हने खड़ा कर, कि वे उसकी सेवा टहल करें।

6. Bring all the men from the tribe of Levi. Bring them to Aaron the priest. These men will be his helpers.

7. और जो कुछ उसकी ओर से और सारी मण्डली की ओर से उन्हें सौंपा जाए उसकी रक्षा वे मिलापवाले तम्बू के सामहने करें, इस प्रकार वे तम्बू की सेवा करें;

7. The Levites will help him when he serves at the Meeting Tent. And they will help all the Israelites when they come to worship at the Holy Tent.

8. वे मिलापवाले तम्बू के कुल सामान की और इस्त्राएलियों की सौंपी हुई वस्तुओं की भी रक्षा करें, इस प्रकार वे तम्बू की सेवा करें।

8. The Israelites should protect everything in the Meeting Tent; it is their duty. But the Levites will serve the Israelites by caring for these things. This will be their way of serving at the Holy Tent.

9. और तू लेवियों को हारून और उसके पुत्रों को सौंप दे; और वे इस्त्राएलियों की ओर से हारून को सम्पूर्ण रीति से अर्पण किए हुए हों।

9. Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons. The Levites were chosen from all the Israelites to help Aaron and his sons.

10. और हारून और उसके पुत्रों को याजक के पद पर नियुक्त कर, और वे अपने याजकपद की रक्षा किया करें; और यदि अन्य मनुष्य समीप आए, तो वह मार डाला जाए।।

10. Appoint Aaron and his sons to be priests. They must do their duty and serve as priests. Anyone else who tries to come near the holy things must be killed.'

11. फिर यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

11. The Lord also said to Moses,

12. सुन इस्त्राएली स्त्रियों के सब पहिलौठों की सन्ती मैं इस्त्राएलियों में से लेवियों को ले लेता हूं; सो लेवीय मेरे ही हों।

12. I destroyed all the firstborn in Egypt. At that time I chose all the firstborn from every family in Israel to be mine in a special way. That included all the firstborn men and animals. But now I am choosing the Levites to take their place. Now they will be my special servants. I, the Lord, give this command!'

13. सब पहिलौठे मेरे हैं; क्योंकि जिस दिन मैं ने मि देश में के सब पहिलौठों को मारा, उसी दिन मैं ने क्या मनुष्य क्या पशु इस्त्राएलियों के सब पहिलौठों को अपने लिये पवित्रा ठहराया; इसलिये वे मेरे ही ठहरेंगे; मैं यहोवा हूं।।

14. फिर यहोवा ने सीनै के जंगल में मूसा से कहा,

14. The Lord again said to Moses in the Sinai desert,

15. लेवियों में से जितने पुरूष एक महीने वा उस से अधिक अवस्था के हों उनको उनके पितरों के घरानों और उनके कुलों के अनुसार गिन ले।

15. Count all the families and family groups in the tribe of Levi. Count every man or boy who is one month old or older.'

16. यह आज्ञा पाकर मूसा ने यहोवा के कहे के अनुसार उनको गिन लिया।

16. So Moses obeyed the Lord. He counted them all.

17. लेवी के पुत्रों के नाम ये हैं, अर्थात् गेर्शोन, कहात, और मरारी।

17. Levi had three sons. Their names were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

18. और गेर्शोन के पुत्रा जिन से उसके कुल चले उनके नाम ये हैं, अर्थात् लिब्नी और शिमी।

18. Each son was the leader of several family groups. The Gershon family groups were Libni and Shimei.

19. कहात के पुत्रा जिन से उसके कुल चले उनके नाम ये हैं, अर्थात् अम्राम, यिसहार, हेब्रोन, और उज्जीएल।

19. The Kohath family groups were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20. और मरारी के पुत्रा जिन से उसके कुल चले उनके नाम ये हैं, अर्थात् महली और मूशी। ये लेवियों के कुल अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार हैं।।

20. The Merari family groups were Mahli and Mushi. These are the families that belonged to Levi's family group.

21. गेर्शोन से लिब्नियों और शिमियों के कुल चले; गेर्शोनवंशियों के कुल ये ही हैं।

21. The families of Libni and Shimei belonged to the family of Gershon. They were the Gershonite family groups.

22. इन में से जितने पुरूषों की अवस्था एक महीने की वा उस से अधिक थी, उन सभों की गिनती साढ़े सात हजार थी।

22. There were 7500 men and boys over one month old in these two family groups.

23. गेर्शोनवाले कुल निवास के पीछे पच्छिम की ओर अपने डेरे डाला करें;

23. The Gershonite family groups were told to camp in the west. They made their camp behind the Holy Tent.

24. और गेर्शोनियों के मूलपुरूष से घराने का प्रधान लाएल का पुत्रा एल्यासाप हो।

24. The leader of the family groups of the Gershonites was Eliasaph son of Lael.

25. और मिलापवाले तम्बू की जो वस्तुएं गेर्शोनवंशियों को सौंपी जाएं वे ये हों, अर्थात् निवास और तम्बू, और उसका ओहार, और मिलापवाले तम्बू से द्वार का पर्दा,

25. In the Meeting Tent, the Gershonites had the job of taking care of the Holy Tent, the outer tent, and the covering. They also took care of the curtain at the entrance of the Meeting Tent.

26. और जो आंगन निवास और वेदी की चारों ओर है उसके पर्दे, और उसके द्वार का पर्दा, और सब डोरियां जो उस में काम आती हैं।।

26. They cared for the curtain in the courtyard. And they cared for the curtain at the entrance of the courtyard. This courtyard was around the Holy Tent and the altar. And they cared for the ropes and for everything that was used with the curtains.

27. फिर कहात से अम्रामियों, यिसहारियों, हेब्रोनियों, और उज्जीएलियों के कुल चले; कहातियों के कुल ये ही हैं।

27. The families of Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, belonged to the family of Kohath. They were the Kohathite family groups.

28. उन में से जितने पुरूषों की अवस्था एक महीने की वा उस से अधिक थी उनकी गिनती आठ हजार छ: सौ थी। वे पवित्रा स्थान की रक्षा के उत्तरदायी थे।

28. In this family group there were 8300 men and boys a month old or over. The Kohathites were given the job of taking care of the things in the Holy Place.

29. कहातियों के कुल निवास की उस अलंग पर अपने डेरे डाला करें जो दक्खिन की ओर है;

29. The Kohathite family groups were given the area to the south of the Holy Tent. This was the area where they camped.

30. और कहातवाले कुलों से मूलपुरूष के घराने का प्रधान उज्जीएल का पुत्रा एलीसापान हो।

30. The leader of the Kohathite family groups was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.

31. और जो वस्तुएं उनको सौंपी जाएं वे सन्दूक, मेज़, दीवट, वेदियां, और पवित्रास्थान का वह सामान जिस से सेवा टहल होती है, और पर्दा; निदान पवित्रास्थान में काम में आनेवाला सारा सामान हो।

31. Their job was to take care of the Holy Box, the table, the lampstand, the altars, and the dishes of the Holy Place. They also cared for the curtain and all the things that were used with the curtain.

32. और लेवियों के प्रधानों का प्रधान हारून याजक का पुत्रा एलीआजार हो, और जो लोग पवित्रास्थान की सौंपी हुई वस्तुओं की रक्षा करेंगे उन पर वही मुखिया ठहरे।।

32. The leader over the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar son of Aaron the priest. Eleazar was in charge of everyone who took care of the holy things.

33. फिर मरारी से महलियों और मूशियों के कुल चले; मरारी के कुल ये ही हैं।

33. The family groups of Mahli and Mushi belonged to the Merari family. There were 6200 men and boys who were one month old or older in the Mahli family group.

34. इन में से जितने पुरूषों की अवस्था एक महीने की वा उस से अधिक थी उन सभों की गिनती छ: हजार दो सौ थी।

35. और मरारी के कुलों के मूलपुरूष के घराने का प्रधान अबीहैल का पुत्रा सूरीएल हो; ये लोग निवास के उत्तर की ओर अपने डेरे खड़े करें।

35. The leader of the Merari family group was Zuriel son of Abihail. This family group was given the area to the north of the Holy Tent. This is the area where they camped.

36. और जो वस्तुएं मरारीवंशियों को सौंपी जाएं कि वे उनकी रक्षा करें, वे निवास के तख्ते, बेंड़े, खम्भे, कुर्सियां, और सारा सामान; निदान जो कुछ उसके बरतने में काम आए;

36. The people from the Merari family were given the job of caring for the frames of the Holy Tent. They cared for all the braces, posts, bases, and everything that was used with the frames of the Holy Tent.

37. और चारों ओर के आंगन के खम्भे, और उनकी कुर्सियां, खूंटे और डोरियां हों।

37. They also cared for all the posts in the courtyard around the Holy Tent. This included all the bases, tent pegs, and ropes.

38. और जो मिलापवाले तम्बू के साम्हने, अर्थात् निवास के साम्हने, पूरब की ओर जहां से सूर्योदय होता है, अपने डेरे डाला करें, वे मूसा और हारून और उसके पुत्रों के डेरे हों, और पवित्रास्थान की रखवाली इस्त्राएलियों के बदले वे ही किया करें, और दूसरा जो कोई उसके समीप आए वह मार डाला जाए।

38. Moses, Aaron, and his sons camped east of the Holy Tent, in front of the Meeting Tent. They were given the work of caring for the Holy Place. They did this for all the Israelites. Anyone else who came near the Holy Place was to be killed.

39. यहोवा की इस आज्ञा को पाकर एक महीने की वा उस से अधिक अवस्थावाले जितने लेवीय पुरूषों को मूसा और हारून ने उनके कुलों के अनुसार गिन लिया, वे सब के सब बाईस हजार थे।।

39. The Lord commanded Moses and Aaron to count all the men and boys one month old or older in Levi's family group. The total number was 22,000.

40. फिर यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा, इस्त्राएलियों के जितने पहिलौठे पुरूषों की अवस्था एक महीने की वा उस से अधिक है, उन सभों को नाम ले लेकर गिन ले।

40. The Lord said to Moses, 'Count all the firstborn men and boys in Israel who are at least one month old. Write their names on a list.

41. और मेरे लिये इस्त्राएलियों के सब पहिलौठों की सन्ती लेवियों को, और इस्त्राएलियों के पशुओं के सब पहिलौठों की सन्ती लेवियों के पशुओं को ले; मैं यहोवा हूं।

41. I will take the Levites instead of all the firstborn men and boys of Israel. I will also take the animals from the Levites instead of taking all the firstborn animals from the other people in Israel.'

42. यहोवा की इस आज्ञा के अनुसार मूसा ने इस्त्राएलियों के सब पहिलौठों को गिन लिया।

42. So Moses did what the Lord commanded. He counted all the firstborn children of the Israelites.

43. और सब पहिलौठे पुरूष जिनकी अवस्था एक महीने की वा उस से अधिक थी, उनके नामों की गिनती बाईस हजार दो सौ तिहत्तर थी।।

43. He listed all the firstborn men and boys who were one month old or older. There were 22,273 names on that list.

44. तब यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

44. The Lord also said to Moses,

45. इस्त्राएलियों के सब पहिलौठों की सन्ती लेवियों को, और उनके पशुओं की सन्ती लेवियों के पशुओं को ले; और लेवीय मेरे ही हों; मैं यहोवा हूं।

45. I, the Lord, give this command: 'Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn men from the other families of Israel. And I will take the animals of the Levites instead of the animals of the other people. The Levites are mine.

46. और इस्त्राएलियों के पहिलौठों मे से जो दो सौ तिहत्तर गिनती में लेवियों से अधिक हैं, उनके छुड़ाने के लिये,

46. There are 22,000 Levites, but there are 22,273 firstborn sons from the other families. This leaves 273 more firstborn sons than Levites.

47. पुरूष पीछे पांच शेकेल ले; वे पवित्रास्थान के शेकेल के हिसाब से हों, अर्थात् बीस गेरा का शेकेल हो।

47. Using the official measure, collect five shekels of silver for each of the 273 people. (The shekel by the official measure weighs 20 gerahs. ) Collect that silver from the Israelites.

48. और जो रूपया उन अधिक पहिलौठों की छुडौती का होगा उसे हारून और उसके पुत्रों को दे देना।

48. Give the silver to Aaron and his sons as payment for the 273 Israelites.''

49. और जो इस्त्राएली पहिलौठे लेवियों के द्वारा छुड़ाए हुओं से अधिक थे उनके हाथ से मूसा ने छुड़ौती का रूपया लिया।

49. There were not enough Levites to take the place of all of the men from the other family groups, so Moses gathered the money for them.

50. और एक हजार तीन सौ पैंसठ शैकेल रूपया पवित्रास्थान के शेकेल के हिसाब से वसूल हुआ।

50. Moses collected the silver from the firstborn men of the Israelites. He collected 1365 shekels of silver, using the official measure.

51. और यहोवा की आज्ञा के अनुसार मूसा ने छुड़ाए हुओं का रूपया हारून और उसके पुत्रों को दे दिया।।

51. Moses obeyed the Lord's command and gave the silver to Aaron and his sons.
