1. तब यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

1. ADONAI said to Moshe,

2. इस्त्राएलियों से बातें करके उन के पूर्वजों के घरानों के अनुसार, उनके सब प्रधानों के पास से एक एक छड़ी ले; और उन बारह छड़ियों में से एक एक पर एक एक के मूल पुरूष का नाम लिख,

2. Tell El'azar the son of Aharon the [cohen] to remove the fire pans from the fire, and scatter the smoldering coals at a distance, because they have become holy.

3. और लेवियों की छड़ी पर हारून का नाम लिख। क्योंकि इस्त्राएलियों के पूर्वजों के घरानों के एक एक मुख्य पुरूष की एक एक छड़ी होगी।

3. Also the fire pans of these men, whose sin cost them their lives, have become holy, because they were offered before ADONAI. Therefore, have them hammered into plates to cover the altar. This will be a sign for the people of Isra'el.'

4. और उन छड़ियों को मिलापवाले तम्बू में साक्षीपत्रा के आगे, जहां मैं तुम लोगों से मिला करता हूं, रख दे।

4. El'azar the [cohen] took the brass fire pans which the men who had been burned to death had offered, and they hammered them into a covering for the altar,

5. और जिस पुरूष को मैं चुनूंगा उसकी छड़ी में कलियां फूट निकलेंगी; और इस्त्राएली जो तुम पर बुड़बुड़ाते रहते हैं, वह बुड़बुड़ाना मैं अपने ऊपर से दूर करूंगा।

5. to remind the people of Isra'el that an ordinary person, not descended from Aharon, is not to approach and burn incense before ADONAI, if he wants to avoid the fate of Korach and his group- as ADONAI had said to him through Moshe.

6. सो मूसा ने इस्त्राएलियों से यह बात कही; और उनके सब प्रधानों ने अपने अपने लिये, अपने अपने पूर्वजों के घरानों के अनुसार, एक एक छड़ी उसे दी, सो बारह छड़ियां हुई; और उन की छड़ियों में हारून की भी छड़ी थी।

6. But the very next day, the whole community of the people of Isra'el complained against Moshe and Aharon: 'You have killed ADONAI's people!'

7. उन छड़ियों को मूसा ने साक्षीपत्रा के तम्बू में यहोवा के साम्हने रख दिया।

7. However, as the community was assembling against Moshe and Aharon, they looked in the direction of the tent of meeting and saw the cloud cover it and the glory of ADONAI appear.

9. सो मूसा उन सब छड़ियों को यहोवा के साम्हने से निकालकर सब इस्त्राएलियों के पास ले गया; और उन्हों ने अपनी अपनी छड़ी पहिचानकर ले ली।

9. ADONAI said to Moshe,

10. फिर यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा, हारून की छड़ी को साक्षीपत्रा के साम्हने फिर धर दे, कि यह उन दंगा करनेवालो के लिये एक निशान बनकर रखी रहे, कि तू उनका बुड़बुड़ाना जो मेरे विरूद्ध होता रहता है भविष्य में रोक रखे, ऐसा न हो कि वे मर जाएं।

10. Get away from this assembly, and I will destroy them at once!' But they fell on their faces.

11. और मूसा ने यहोवा की इस आज्ञा के अनुसार ही किया।।

11. Moshe said to Aharon, 'Take your fire pan, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, and hurry with it to the assembly to make atonement for them, because anger has gone out from ADONAI, and the plague has already begun!'

12. तब इस्त्राएली मूसा से कहने लगे, देख, हमारे प्राण निकला चाहते हैं, हम नष्ट हुए, हम सब के सब नष्ट हुए जाते हैं।

12. Aharon took it, as Moshe had said, and ran into the middle of the assembly. There the plague had already begun among the people, but he added the incense and made atonement for the people.

13. जो कोई यहोवा के निवास के समीप जाता है वह मारा जाता है। तो क्या हम सब के सब मर ही जाएंगे।।

13. He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stopped.
