1. हे इस्राएल, अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के पास लौट आ, क्योंकि तू ने अपने अधर्म के कारण ठोकर खाई है।

1. O Israel, come back to the Lord your God; for your evil-doing has been the cause of your fall.

2. बातें सीखकर और यहोवा की ओर फिरकर, उस से कह, सब अधर्म दूर कर; अनुग्रह से हम को ग्रहण कर; तब हम धन्यवाद रूपी बलि चढ़ाएंगे।

2. Take with you words, and come back to the Lord; say to him, Let there be forgiveness for all wrongdoing, so that we may take what is good, and give in payment the fruit of our lips.

3. अश्शूर हमारा उद्धार न करेगा, हम घोड़ों पर सवार न होंगे; और न हम फिर अपनी बनाई हुई वस्तुओं से कहेंगे, तुम हमारे ईश्वर हो; क्योंकि अनाथ पर तू ही दया करता है।।

3. Assyria will not be our salvation; we will not go on horses; we will not again say to the work of our hands, You are our gods; for in you there is mercy for the child who has no father.

4. मैं उनकी भटक जाने की आदत को दूर करूंगा; मैं सेंतमेंत उन से प्रेम करूंगा, क्योंकि मेरा क्रोध उन पर से उतर गया है।

4. I will put right their errors; freely will my love be given to them, for my wrath is turned away from him.

5. मैं इस्राएल के लिये ओस के समान हूंगा; वह सोसन की नाई फूले- फलेगा, और लबानोन की नाईं जड़ फैलाएगा।

5. I will be as the dew to Israel; he will put out flowers like a lily, and send out his roots like Lebanon.

6. उसकी जड़ से पौधे फूटकर निकलेंगे; उसकी शोभा जलपाई की सी, और उसकी सुगन्ध लबानोन की सी होगी।

6. His branches will be stretched out, he will be beautiful as the olive-tree and sweet-smelling as Lebanon.

7. जो उसकी छाया में बैठेंगे, वे अन्न ही नाईं बढ़ेंगे, वे दाखलता की नाई फूले- फलेंगे; और उसकी कीर्त्ति लबानोन के दाखमधु की सी होगी।।

7. They will come back and have rest in his shade; their life will be made new like the grain, and they will put out flowers like the vine; his name will be like the wine of Lebanon.

8. एप्रैम कहेगा, मूरतों से अब मेरा और क्या काम? मैं उसकी सुनकर उस पर दृष्टि बनाए रखूंगा। मैं हरे सनौवर सा हूं; मुझी से तू फल पाया करेगा।।

8. As for Ephraim, what has he to do with false gods any longer? I have given an answer and I will keep watch over him; I am like a branching fir-tree, from me comes your fruit.

9. जो बुद्धिमान हो, वही इन बातों को समझेगा; जो प्रवीण हो, वही इन्हें बूझ सकेगा; क्योंकि यहोवा के मार्ग सीधे हैं, और धर्मी उन में चलते रहेंगे, परन्तु अपराधी उन में ठोकर खाकर गिरेंगे।।

9. He who is wise will see these things; he who has good sense will have knowledge of them. For the ways of the Lord are straight, and the upright will go in them, but sinners will be falling in them.
