1. और हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, तू एक ईट ले और उसे अपने साम्हने रखकर उस पर एक नगर, अर्थात् यरूशलेम का चित्रा खच;

1. 'Son of man, get a clay tablet. Put it in front of you. Draw the city of Jerusalem on it.

2. तब उसे घेर अर्थात् उसके विरूद्ध क़िला बना और उसके साम्हने दमदमा बान्ध; और छावनी डाल, और उसके चारों ओर युठ्ठ के यंत्रा लगा।

2. Then pretend to surround it and attack it. Make some little models of war machines. Build a ramp up to it. Set camps up around it. Surround it with models of logs to be used for knocking down its gates.

3. तब तू लोहे की थाली लेकर उसको लोहें की शहरपनाह मानकर अपने ओर उस नगर के बीच खड़ा कर; तब अपना मुंह उसके साम्हने करके उसे घेरवा, इस रीति से तू उसे घेर रखना। यह इस्राएल के घराने के लिये चिन्ह ठहरेगा।

3. Then get an iron pan. Put it between you and the city. Pretend it is an iron wall. Turn your face toward the city. It will be under attack when you begin to attack it. That will show the people of Israel what is going to happen to Jerusalem.

4. फिर तू अपने बांयें पांजर के बल लेटकर इस्राएल के घराने का अधर्म अपने ऊपर रख; क्योंकि जितने दिन तू उस पांजर के बल लेटा रहेगा, उतने दिन तक उन लोगों के अधर्म का भार सहता रह।

4. 'Next, lie down on your left side. Pretend that you are putting Israel's sin on yourself. Keep their sin on you for the number of days you lie on your side.

5. मैं ने उनके अधर्म के बष के तुल्य तेरे लिये दिन ठहराए हैं, अर्थात् तीन सौ नब्बे दिन; उतने दिन तक तू इस्राएल के घराने के अधर्म का भार सहता रह।

5. Let each day you lie there stand for one year of their sin. So you will keep Israel's sin on you for 390 days.

6. और जब इतने दिन पूरे हो जाएं, तब अपने दहिने पांजर के बल लेटकर यहूदा के घराने के अधर्म का भार सह लेना; मैं ने उसके लिये भी और तेरे लिये एक वर्ष की सन्ती एक दिन अर्थात् चालीस दिन ठहराए हैं।

6. 'After you have finished that, lie down again. This time lie on your right side. Pretend that you are putting Judah's sin on yourself. Lie there for 40 days. That is one day for each year of their sin.

7. और तू यरूशलेम के घेरने के लिये बांह उघाड़े हुए अपना मुंह उघर करके उसके विरूद्ध भविष्यद्वाणी करना।

7. 'Next, turn your face toward the model of Jerusalem under attack. Uncover your arm as if you were a soldier ready to fight. Prophesy against the city.

8. और देख, मैं तुझे रस्सियों से जकडूंगा, और जब तक उसके घेरने के दिन पूरे न हों, तब तक तू करवट न ले सकेगा।

8. 'I will tie you up with ropes. Then you will not be able to turn from one side to the other. You will stay that way until you have finished attacking Jerusalem.

9. और तू गेहूं, जव, सेम, मसूर, बाजरा, और कठिया गेहूं लेकर, एक बासन में रखकर उन से रोटी बनाया करना। जितने दिन तू अपने पांजर के बल लेटा रहेगा, उतने अर्थात् तीन सौ नब्बे दिन तक उसे खाया करना।

9. 'Get some wheat and barley. Also get some beans and lentils. And get some millet and spelt. Put everything in a storage jar. Use it to make some bread for yourself. Eat it during the 390 days you are lying down on your side.

10. और जो भेजन तू खाए, उसे तौल तौलकर खाना, अर्थात् प्रति दिन बीस बीस शेकेल भर खाया करता, और उसे समय समय पर खाना।

10. Weigh out eight ounces of food to eat each day. Eat it at your regular mealtimes.

11. पानी भी तू मापकर पिया करना, अर्थात् प्रति दिन हीन का छठवां अंश पीना; और उसको समय समय पर पीना।

11. Also measure out two thirds of a quart of water. Drink it at your regular mealtimes.

12. और अपना भोजन जब की रोटियों की नाई बनाकर खाया करना, और उसको मनुष्य की बिष्ठा से उनके देखते दनाया करना।

12. 'Eat your food as you would eat a barley cake. Bake it over human waste in front of the people.'

13. फिर यहोवा ने कहा, इसी प्रकार से इस्राएल उन जातियों के बीच अपनी अपनी रोटी अशुठ्ठता से खाया करेंगे, जहां में उन्हें बरबस पहुंचाऊंगा।

13. The Lord said, 'That is how the people of Israel will eat 'unclean' food. They will eat it in the nations where I will drive them.'

14. तब मैं ने कहा, हाय, यहोवा परमेश्वर देख, मेरा मन कभी अशुठ्ठ नहीं हुआ, और न मैं ने बचपन से लेकर अब तक अपनी मृत्यु से मरे हुए वा फाड़े हुए पशु का मांस खाया, और न किसी प्रकार का घिनौना मांस मेरे पुंह में कभी गया है।

14. Then I said, 'No, Lord and King! I won't do it! I've never eaten anything that was 'unclean.' From the time I was young until now, I've never eaten anything that was found dead. And I've never eaten anything that was torn apart by wild animals. 'Unclean' meat has never entered my mouth.'

15. तब उस ने मुझ से कहा, देख, मैं ने तेरे लिये मनुष्य की विष्ठा की सन्ती गोबर ठहराया है, और उसी से तू अपनी रोठी बनाना।

15. All right,' he said. 'I will let you bake your bread over waste from cows. You can use that instead of human waste.'

16. फिर उस ने मुझ से कहा, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, देख, मैं यरूशलेम में अन्नरूपी आधार को दूर करूंगा; सो वहां के लोग तौल तोलकर और चिन्ता कर करके रोटी खाया करेंगे; और माप मापकर और विस्मित हो होकर पानी पिया करेंगे।

16. He continued, 'Son of man, I will cut off the food supply in Jerusalem. The people will be worried as they eat their tiny share of food. They will not have any hope as they drink their tiny share of water.

17. और इस से उन्हें रोटी और पानी की घटी होगी; और वे सब के सब घबराएंगे, और अपने अधर्म में फंसे हुए सूख् जाएंगे।

17. There will be very little food and water. The people will be shocked as they look at one another. They will become weaker and weaker because of their sin.
