1. और उस ने मुझ से कहा, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, अपने पांवों के बल खड़ा हो, और मैं तुझ से बातें करूंगा।

1. He said to me, 'Human, stand up on your feet so I may speak with you.'

2. जैसे ही उस ने मुझ से यह कहा, त्योंही आत्मा ने मुझ में समाकर मुझे पांवों के बल खड़ा कर दिया; और जो मुझ से बातें करता था मैं ने उसकी सुनी।

2. While he spoke to me, the Spirit entered me and put me on my feet. Then I heard the Lord speaking to me.

3. और उस ने मुझ से कहा, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, मैं तुझे इस्राएलियों के पास अर्थात् बलवा करनेवाली जाति के पास भेजता हूँ, जिन्हों ने मेरे विरूद्ध बलवा किया है; उनके पुरखा और वे भी आज के दिल तक मेरा अपराध करते चले आए हैं।

3. He said, 'Human, I am sending you to the people of Israel. That nation has turned against me and broken away from me. They and their ancestors have sinned against me until this very day.

4. इस पीढ़ी के लोग जिनके पास मैं तुझे भेजता हूँ, वे निर्लज्ज और हठीले हैं;

4. I am sending you to people who are stubborn and who do not obey. You will say to them, 'This is what the Lord God says.'

5. और तू उन से कहना, प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता हे, इस से वे, जो बलवा करनेवाले घराने के हैं, चाहे वे सुनें व न सुनें, तौभी वे इतना जान लेंगे कि हमारे बीच एक भविष्यद्वक्ता प्रगट हुआ है।

5. They may listen, or they may not, since they are a people who have turned against me. But they will know that a prophet has been among them.

6. और हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, तू उन से न डरना; चाहे तुझे कांटों, ऊंटकटारों ओर बिच्चुओं के बीच भी रहना पड़े, तौभी उनके वचनों से न डरना; यद्यपि वे बलवई घराने के हैं, तौभी न तो उनके वचनों से डरना, और न उनके मुंह देखकर तेरा मन कच्चा हो।

6. You, human, don't be afraid of the people or their words. Even though they may be like thorny branches and stickers all around you, and though you may feel like you live with poisonous insects, don't be afraid. Don't be afraid of their words or their looks, because they are a people who turn against me.

7. सो चाहे वे सुनें या न सुनें; तौभी तू मेरे वचन उन से कहना, वे तो बड़े बलवई हैं।

7. But speak my words to them. They may listen, or they may not, because they turn against me.

8. परन्तु हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, जो मैं तुझ से कहता हूँ, उसे तू सुन ले, उस बलवई घराने के समान तू भी बलवई न बनना; जो में तुझे देता हूँ, उसे मुंह खोलकर खा ले।

8. But you, human, listen to what I say to you. Don't turn against me as those people do. Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.'

9. तब मैं ने दृष्टि की और क्या देख, कि मेरी ओर एक हाथ बढ़ा हुआ है और उस में एक पुसतक है।

9. Then I looked and saw a hand stretched out to me, and a scroll was in it.

10. उसको उस ने मेरे साम्हने खोलकर फैलाया, ओर वह दोनों ओर लिखी हुई थी; और जो उस में लिखा था, वे विलाप और शोक और दु:खभरे वचन थे।

10. He opened the scroll in front of me. Funeral songs, sad writings, and words about troubles were written on the front and back.
