1. हे धर्म पर चलनेवालो, हे यहोवा के ढूंढ़नेवालो, कान लगाकर मेरी सुनो; जिस चट्टान में से तुम खोदे गए और जिस खानि में से तुम निकाले गए, उस पर ध्यान करो।

1. Hearken to me, ye that hold of righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: Take heed unto the stone, whereout ye are hewn, and to the grave whereout ye are digged.(Hearken unto me, ye that follow righteousness and seek the LORD. Look unto the rock ye were cut out, and to the cave and pit ye were digged out.)

2. अपने मूलपुरूष इब्राहीम और अपनी माता सारा पर ध्यान करो; जब वह अकेला था, तब ही से मैं ने उसको बुलाया और आशीष दी और बढ़ा दिया।

2. Consider Abraham your father, and Sara that bare you: how that I called him alone, and prospered him well, and increased him:(Look unto Abraham your father and unto Sarah that bare you: how I called him only, and blessed him and multiplied him.)

3. यहोवा ने सिरयोन को शान्ति दी है, उस ने उसके सब खण्डहरों को शान्ति दी है; वह उसके जंगल को अदन के समान और उसक निर्जल देश को यहोवा की बाटिका के समान बनाएगा; उस में हर्ष और आनन्द और धन्यवाद और भजन गाने का शब्द सुनाई पड़ेगा।।

3. how the LORD comforted Sion, and repaired all her decay: making her desert as a Paradise, and her wilderness as the garden of the LORD. Mirth and joy was there, thanksgiving, and the voice of praise.(For the LORD hath compassion on Sion and hath compassion on all that is decayed therein, and will make her wilderness as paradise, and her desert as the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness shall be found therein, with thanksgiving and the voice of praise.)

4. हे मेरी प्रजा के लोगो, मेरी ओर ध्यान धरो; हे मेरे लोगो, कान लगाकर मेरी सुनो; क्योंकि मेरी ओर से व्यवस्था दी जाएगी, और मैं अपना नियम देश देश के लोगों की ज्योति होने के लिये स्थिर करूंगा।

4. Have respect unto me then, O my people, and lay thine ear to me: for a law, and an ordinance shall go forth from me, to lighten the Gentiles.(Hearken unto me my people, and turn your ears to me my folk. There shall a law go out from me, and my judgement will I stablish to be a light unto nations.)

5. मेरा छुटकारा निकट है; मेरा उद्धार प्रगट हुआ है; मैं अपने भुजबल से देश देश के लोगों का न्याय करूंगा। द्वीप मेरी बाट जाहेंगे और मेरे भुजबल पर आशा रखेंगे।

5. It is hard by, that my health and my righteousness shall go forth, and the people shall be ordered with mine arm. The Islands (that is the Gentiles) shall hope in me, and put their trust in mine arm.(My righteousness is nigh, and my salvation shall go out, and mine arms shall judge nations, and islands shall look for me and shall tarry after mine arm.)

6. आकाश की ओर अपनी आंखें उठाओ, और पृथ्वी को निहारो; क्योंकि आकाश धुंए ही नाई लोप हो जाएगा, पृथ्वी कपड़े के समान पुरानी हो जाएगी, और उसके रहनेवाले यों ही जाते रहेंगे; परन्तु जो उद्धार मैं करूंगा वह सर्वदा ठहरेगा, और मेरे धर्म का अन्त न होगा।।

6. Lift up your eyes toward heaven, and look upon the earth beneath. For the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall tear like a cloth, and they that dwell therein, shall perish in like manner. But my health endureth for ever, and my righteousness shall not cease.(Lift up your eyes to heaven and behold the earth beneath. For heaven shall vanish away as smoke, and the earth shall wear away as a vesture, and the inhabiters thereof shall perish away after the same manner, but my salvation shall endure ever, and my righteousness shall not perish.)

7. हे धर्म के जाननेवलो, जिनके मन में मेरी व्यवस्था है, तुम कान लगाकर मेरी सुनो; मनुष्यों की नामधराई से मत डरो, और उनके निन्दा करने से विस्मित न हो।

7. Therefore hearken unto me, ye that have pleasure in righteousness, thou people that bearest my law in thine heart. Fear not the curse of men, be not afraid of their blasphemies and revilings:(Hearken unto me ye that know righteousness and so let the people that have my law in their hearts. Fear not the rebukes of man neither faint for their blasphemies.)

8. क्योंकि धुन उन्हें कपड़े की नाईं और कीड़ा उन्हें ऊन की नाईं खाएगा; परन्तु मेरा धर्म अनन्तकाल तक, और मेरा उद्धार पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक बना रहेगा।

8. For worms and moths shall eat them up like cloth and wool. But my righteousness shall endure for ever, and my saving health from generation to generation.(For worms shall eat them as a garment, and moths shall devour them as it were wool. By my righteousness shall continue ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.)

9. हे यहोवा की भुजा, जाग ! जाग और बल धारण कर; जैसे प्राचीनकाल में और बीते हुए पीढ़ियों में, वैसे ही अब भी जाग। क्या तू वही नहीं है जिस ने रहब को टुकड़े टुकड़े किया और मगरमच्छ को छेदा?

9. Wake up, wake up, and be strong: O thou arm of the LORD: wake up, like as in times past, ever and since the world began.

10. क्या तू वही नहीं जिस ने समुद्र को अर्थात् गहिरे सागर के जल को सुखा डाला और उसकी गहराई में अपने छुड़ाए हओं के पार जाने के लिये मार्ग निकाला था?

10. Art not thou he, that hast wounded that proud lucifer, and hewn the dragon in pieces? Art not thou even he, which hast dried up the deep of the sea, which hast made plain the sea ground, that the delivered might go thorow?

11. सो यहोवा के छुड़ाए हुए लोग लौटकर जयजयकार करते हुए सिरयोन में आएंगे, और उनके सिरों पर अनन्त आनन्द गूंजता रहेगा; वे हर्ष और आनन्द प्राप्त करेंगे, और शोक और सिसकियों का अन्त हो जाएगा।।

11. That the redeemed of the LORD, which turned again, might come with joy unto Sion, there to endure for ever? That mirth and gladness might be with them: that sorrow and woe might flee from them?

12. मैं, मैं ही तेरा शान्तिदाता हूं; तू कौन है जो मरनेवाले मनुष्य से, और घास के समान मुर्झानेवाले आदमी से डरता है,

12. Yea I, I am even he, that in all things giveth you consolation. What art thou then, that fearest a mortal man, the child of man, which goeth away as doeth the flour?

13. और आकाश के ताननेवाले और पृथ्वी की नेव डालनेवाले अपने कर्ता यहोवा को भूल गया है, और जब द्रोही नाश करने को तैयार होता है तब उसकी जलजलाहट से दिन भर लगातार थरथराता है? परन्तु द्रोही की जलजलाहट कहां रही?

13. And forgetest the LORD that made thee, that spread out the heavens, and laid the foundation of the earth. But thou art ever afraid for the sight of thine oppressor, which is ready to do harm: Where is the wrath of the oppressor?

14. बंधुआ शीघ्र ही स्वतन्त्र किया जाएगा; वह गड़हे में न मरेगा और न उसे रोटी की कमी होगी।

14. It cometh on fast, it maketh haste to appear: It shall not perish, that it should not be able to destroy, neither shall it fail for fault of nourishing.

15. जो समुद्र को उथल- पुथल करता जिस से उसकी लहरों मे गरजन होती है, वह मैं ही तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा हूं मेरा नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है। और मैं ने तेरे मुंह में अपने वचन डाले,

15. I am the LORD thy God, that make the sea to be still, and to rage: whose name is the LORD of Hosts.

16. और तुझे अपने हाथ की आड़ में छिपा रखा है; कि मैं आकाश को तानूं और पृथ्वी की नेव डालूं, और सिरयोन से कहूं, तुम मेरी प्रजा हो।।

16. I shall put my word also in thy mouth, and defend thee with the turning of my hand: that thou mayest plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Sion: Thou art my people.

17. हे यरूशलेम जाग ! जाग उठ ! खड़ी हो जा, तू ने यहोवा के हाथ से उसकी जलजलाहट के कटोरे में से पिया है, तू ने कटोरे का लड़खड़ा देनेवाला मद पूरा पूरा ही पी लिया है।

17. Awake, awake, and stand up, O Jerusalem, thou that from the hand of the LORD, hast drunken out the cup of his wrath: thou that hast supped of, and sucked out the slumbering cup to the bottom.

18. जितने लड़कों ने उस से जन्म लिया उन में से कोई न रहा जो उसकी अगुवाई करके ले चले; और जितने लड़के उस ने पाले- पोसे उन में से कोई न रहा जो उसके हाथ को थाम ले।

18. For among all the sons whom thou hast begotten, there is not one that may hold thee up: and not one to lead thee by the hand, of all the sons that thou hast nourished.

19. ये दो विपत्तियां तुझ पर आ पड़ी हैं; कौन तेरे संग विलाप करेगा? उजाड़ और विनाश और महंगी और तलवार आ पड़ी है; कौन तुझे शान्ति देगा?

19. Both these things are happened unto thee, but who is sorry for it. Yea, destruction, wasting, hunger and sword: but who hath comforted thee?

20. तेरे लड़के मूर्च्छित होकर हर एक सड़क के सिरे पर, महाजाल में फंसे हुए हरिण की नाई पड़े हैं; याहोवा की जलजलाहट और तेरे परमेश्वर की धमकी के कारण वे अचेत पड़े हैं।।

20. Thy sons lie comfortless at the head of every street like a taken venison, and are full of the terrible wrath of the LORD, and punishment of thy God.

21. इस कारण हे दुखियारी सुन, तू मतवाली तो है, परन्तु दाखमधु पीकर नहीं;

21. And therefore thou miserable and drunken (howbeit not with wine) Hear this:

22. तेरा प्रभु यहोवा जो अपनी प्रजा का मुक मा लड़नेवाला तेरा परमेश्वर है, वह यों कहता है, सुन मैं लड़खड़ा देनेवाले मद के कटोरे को अर्थात् अपनी जलजलाहट के कटोरे को तेरे हाथ से ले लेता हूं; तुझे उस में से फिर कभी पीना न पड़ेगा।

22. Thus sayeth thy Lord:(LORDE) thy LORD and God, the defender of his people: Behold, I will take the slumbering cup out of thy hand, even the cup with the dregs of my wrath: that from hence forth thou shalt never drink it more,

23. और मैं उसे तेरे उन दु:ख देनेवालों के हाथ में दूंगा, जिन्हों ने तुझ से कहा, लेट जा, कि हम तुझ पर पांव धरकर आगे चलें; और तू ने औंधे मुंह गिरकर अपनी पीठ को भूमि और आगे चलनेवालों के लिये सड़क बना दिया।।

23. and will put it in their hand that trouble thee: which have spoken to thy soul: stoop down, that we may go over thee: make thy body even with the ground, and as the street to go upon.
