1. उस समय बलदान का पुत्रा मरोदक बलदान, जो बाबुल का राजा था, उस ने हिजकिरयाह के रोगी होने और फिर चंगे हो जाने की चर्चा सुनकर उसके पास पत्री और भेंट भेजी।

1. At that same time Merodach Baladam, Baladam's son king of Babylon, sent letters and presents to Hezekiah. For he understood how that he had been sick, and was recovered again.

2. इन से हिजकिरयाह ने प्रसन्न होकर अपने अनमोल पदार्थों का भण्डार और चान्दी, सोना, सुगन्ध द्रव्य, उत्तम तेल ओर भण्डारों में जो जो वस्तुएं थी, वे सब उनको दिखलाईं। हिजकिरयाह के भवन और राज्य भर में कोई ऐसी वस्तु नहीं रह गई जो उस ने उन्हें न दिखाई हो।

2. And Hezekiah was glad thereof, and shewed them the commodities of his treasure, of silver, of gold, of spices and roots, of precious oils, and all that was in his cupboards and treasure houses. There was not one thing in Hezekiahs house, and so thorowout all his kingdom, but he let them see it.

3. तब यशायाह नबी ने हिजकिरयाह राजा के पास जाकर पूछा, वे मनुष्य क्या कह गए? और वे कहां से तेरे पास आए थे? हिजकिरयाह ने कहा, वे तो दूर देश से अर्थात् बाबुल से मेरे पास आए थे।

3. Then came Esay the Prophet to king Hezekiah, and said unto him: What have the men said, and from whence came they unto thee? Hezekiah answered: They came out of a far country unto me, out of Babylon.

4. फिर उस ने पूछा, तेरे भवन में उन्हों ने क्या क्या देखा है? हिजकिरयाह ने कहा, जो कुछ मेरे भवन में है वह सब उन्हों ने देखे है; मेरे भण्डारों में कोई ऐसी वस्तु नहीं जो मैं ने उन्हें न दिखाई हो।।

4. Esay said: What have they looked upon in thine house? Hezekiah answered: All that is in mine house have they seen: and there is nothing in my treasure, but I shewed it them.

5. तब यशायाह ने हिजकिरयाह से कहा, सेनाओं के यहोवा का यह वचन सुन ले:

5. Then said Esay unto Hezekiah: Understand the word of the LORD of Hosts:

6. ऐसे दिन आनेवाले हैं, जि में जो कुछ तेरे भवन में है और जो कुछ आज के दिन तक तेरे पुरखाओं का रखा हुआ तेरे भण्डारों में हैं, वह सब बाबुल को उठ जाएगा; यहोवा यह कहता है कि कोई वस्तु न बचेगी।

6. Behold, the time will come, that everything which is in thine house, and all that thy progenitors have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried to Babylon, and nothing left behind. Thus sayeth the LORD.

7. और जो पुत्रा तेरे वंश में उत्पन्न हों, उन में से भी कितनों को वे बंधुआई में ले जाएंगे; और वह खोजे बनकर बाबुल के राजभवन में रहेंगे।

7. Yea and part of thy sons, that shall come of thee, and whom thou shalt get, shall be carried hence, and become gelded chamberlains in the king of Babylon's court.

8. हिजकिरयाह ने यशायाह से कहा, यहोवा का वचन जो तू ने कहा है वह भला ही है। फिर उस ने कहा, मेरे दिनों में तो शान्ति और सच्चाई बनी रहेगी।।

8. Then said Hezekiah to Esay: Now GOD prosper his own counsel, which thou hast told me. He said moreover: So that there be peace and faithfulness in my time.
