1. हे यहोवा, तू मेरा परमेश्वर है; मैं तुझे सराहूंगा, मैं तेरे नाम का धन्यवाद करूंगा; क्योंकि तू ने आश्चर्यकर्म किए हैं, तू ने प्राचीनकाल से पूरी सच्चाई के साथ युक्तियां की हैं।

1. O Yahweh! my God, thou art, I will exalt thee, I will praise thy Name, For thou hast done a wonderful thing, Purposes of long ago Faithfulness in truth.

2. तू ने नगर को डीह, और उस गढ़वाले नगर को खण्डहर कर डाला है; तू ने परदेशियों की राजपुरी को ऐसा उजाड़ा कि वह नगर नहीं रहा; वह फिर कभी बसाया न जाएगा।

2. For thou hast made, of a citadel, a mound, of a defenced city, a ruin, palaces for foreigners to be no city, To times age-abiding, shall it not be built.

3. इस कारण बलवन्त राज्य के लोग तेरी महिमा करेंगे; भयंकर अन्यजातियों के नगरों में तेरा भय माना जाएगा।

3. For this cause! shall glorify thee a strong people, the city of tyrannous nations shall revere thee;

4. क्योंकि तू संकट में दीनों के लिये गढ़, और जब भयानक लोगों का झोंका भीत पर बौछार के समान होता था, तब तू दरिद्रों के लिये उनकी शरण, और तपन में छाया का स्थान हुआ।

4. For thou didst become A refuge to the weak. A refuge to the needy, when distress was upon him, A shelter from the storm. A shade from the heat, When the blast of tyrants was like a storm against a wall.

5. जैसे निर्जल देश में बादल की छाया से तपन ठण्डी होती है वेैसे ही तू परदेशियों का कोलाहल और क्रूर लोगों को जयजयकार बन्द करता है।।

5. As heat in a desert, the pomp of foreigners, wilt thou subdue, Heat with the shade of a cloud, The song of tyrants! become low.

6. सेनाओं का यहोवा इसी पर्वत पर सब देशों के लोगों के लिये ऐसी जेवनार करेगा जिस में भांति भांति का चिकना भोजन और निथरा हुआ दाखमधु होगा; उत्तम से उत्तम चिकना भोजन और बहुत ही निथरा हुआ दाखमधु होगा।

6. Then will Yahweh of hosts prepare for all the peoples in this mountain, A banquet of fat things, A banquet of old wines, Of fat things full of marrow, Of old wines well refined;

7. और जो पर्दा सब देशों के लोगों पर पड़ा है, जो घूंघट सब अन्यजातियों पर लटका हुआ है, उसे वह इसी पर्वत पर नाश करेगा।

7. And he will swallow up in this mountain, The mask of the veil, the veil that is upon all the peoples, And the web that is woven over all the nations.

8. वह मृत्यु को सदा के लिये नाश करेगा, और प्रभु यहोवा सभों के मुख पर से आंसू पोंछ डालेगा, और अपनी प्रजा की नामधराई सारी पृथ्वी पर से दूर करेगा; क्योंकि यहोवा ने ऐसा कहा है।।

8. Having swallowed up death itself victoriously, My Lord, Yahweh, will wipe away, tears from off all faces, And the reproach of his own people, will he remove from off all the earth, For, Yahweh, hath spoken.

9. और उस समय यह कहा जाएगा, देखो, हमारा परमेश्वर यही है; हम इसी की बाट जोहते आए हैं, कि वह हमारा उद्धार करे। यहोवा यही है; हम उसकी बाट जोहते आए हैं। हम उस से उद्धार पाकर मगन और आनन्दित होंगे।

9. So shall it he said, in that day, Lo! our God, is this! We waited for him, that he might save us, This, is Yahweh! We waited for him, Let us exult and rejoice in his salvation.

10. क्योंकि इस पर्वत पर यहोवा का हाथ सर्वदा बना रहेगा और मोआब अपने ही स्थान में ऐसा लताड़ा जाएगा जैसा घूरे में पुआल लताड़ा जाता है।

10. For the hand of Yahweh will settle down in this mountain, Then shall Moab be trodden down in its place, Like the treading down of a strawheap in the water of a dunghill;

11. और वह उस में अपने हाथ इस प्रकार फैलाएगा, जैसे कोई तैरते हुए फैलाए; परन्तु वह उसके गर्व को तोड़ेगा; और उसकी चतुराई को निष्फल कर देगा।

11. Should he spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, As a swimmer spreadeth forth to swim, Then would be laid low his pride, together with the devices of his hands.

12. और उसकी ऊंची ऊंची औश्र दृढ़ शहरपनाहों को वह झुकाएगा और नीचा करेगा, वरन भूमि पर गिराकर मिट्टी में मिला देगा।।

12. Yea, the lofty stronghold of thy walls, Hath he brought down Laid low Levelled to the ground even unto the dust.
