1. हे मेरे पुत्रा, मेरी शिक्षा को न भूलना; अपने हृदय में मेरी आज्ञाओं को रखे रहना;

1. My son, don't forget my teaching. Remember what I tell you to do.

3. Don't ever let love and loyalty leave you. Tie them around your neck, and write them on your heart.

4. और तू परमेश्वर और मनुष्य दोनों का अनुग्रह पाएगा, तू अति बुद्धिमान होगा।।

4. Then God will be pleased and think well of you and so will everyone else.

5. तू अपनी समझ का सहारा न लेना, वरन सम्पूर्ण मन से यहोवा पर भरोसा रखना।

5. Trust in the Lord completely, and don't depend on your own knowledge.

6. उसी को स्मरण करके सब काम करना, तब वे तेरे लिये सीधा मार्ग निकालेगा।

6. With every step you take, think about what the Lord wants, and he will help you go the right way.

7. Don't trust in your own wisdom, but fear and respect the Lord and stay away from evil.

8. ऐसा करने से तेरा शरीर भला चंगा, और तेरी हडि्डयां पुष्ट रहेंगी।

8. If you do this, it will be like a refreshing drink and medicine for your body.

9. अपनी संपत्ति के द्वारा और अपनी भूमि की पहिली उपज दे देकर यहोवा की प्रतिष्ठा करना;

9. Honor the Lord with your wealth and the first part of your harvest.

10. इस प्रकार तेरे खत्ते भरे और पूरे रहेंगे, और तेरे रसकुण्डों से नया दाखमधु उमण्डता रहेगा।।

10. Then your barns will be full of grain, and your barrels will be overflowing with wine.

11. My son, don't reject the Lord's discipline, and don't be angry when he corrects you.

12. The Lord corrects the one he loves, just as a father corrects a child he cares about.

13. क्या ही धन्य है वह मनुष्य जो बुद्धि पाए, और वह मनुष्य जो समझ प्राप्त करे,

13. Those who find wisdom are fortunate; they will be blessed when they gain understanding.

14. क्योंकि बुद्धि की प्राप्ति चान्दी की प्राप्ति से बड़ी, और उसका लाभ चोखे सोने के लाभ से भी उत्तम है।

14. Profit that comes from wisdom is better than silver and even the finest gold.

15. वह मूंगे से अधिक अनमोल है, और जितनी वस्तुओं की तू लालसा करता है, उन में से कोई भी उसके तुल्य न ठहरेगी।

15. Wisdom is worth more than fine jewels. Nothing you desire has more value.

16. उसके दहिने हाथ में दीर्घायु, और उसके बाएं हाथ में धन और महिमा है।

16. With her right hand, Wisdom offers long life�with the other hand, riches and honor.

17. उसके मार्ग मनभाऊ हैं, और उसके सब मार्ग कुशल के हैं।

17. Wisdom will lead you to a life of joy and peace.

18. जो बुद्धि को ग्रहण कर लेते हैं, उनके लिये वह जीवन का वृक्ष बनती है; और जो उसको पकड़े रहते हैं, वह धन्य हैं।।

18. Wisdom is like a life-giving tree to those who hold on to her; she is a blessing to those who keep her close.

19. यहोवा ने पृथ्वी की नेव बुद्धि ही से डाली; और स्वर्ग को समझ ही के द्वारा स्थिर किया।

19. With wisdom and understanding, the Lord created the earth and sky.

20. उसी के ज्ञान के द्वारा गहिरे सागर फूट निकले, और आकाशमण्डल से ओस टपकती है।।

20. With his knowledge, he made the oceans and the clouds that produce rain.

21. हे मेरे पुत्रा, ये बातें तेरी दृष्टि की ओट न हाने पाएं; खरी बुद्धि और विवेक की रक्षा कर,

21. My son, don't ever let wisdom out of your sight. Hold on to wisdom and careful planning.

22. तब इन से तुझे जीवन मिलेगा, और ये तेरे गले का हार बनेंगे।

22. They will bring you a long life filled with honor.

23. और तू अपने मार्ग पर निडर चलेगा, और तेरे पांव में ठेस न लगेगी।

23. As you go through life, you will always be safe and never fall.

24. जब तू लेटेगा, तब भय न खाएगा, जब तू लेटेगा, तब सुख की नींद आएगी।

24. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. When you rest, your sleep will be peaceful.

25. अचानक आनेवाले भय से न डरना, और जब दुष्टों पर विपत्ति आ पड़े, तब न घबराना;

25. You have no reason to fear some sudden disaster. The Lord will be your strength. Never fear the destruction that comes to the wicked. The Lord will protect you from that trap.

27. Do everything you possibly can for those who need help.

28. यदि तेरे पास देने को कुछ हो, तो अपने पड़ोसी से न कहना कि जा कल फिर आना, कल मैं तुझे दूंगा।

28. If your neighbor needs something you have, don't say, 'Come back tomorrow.' Give it to him immediately.

29. जब तेरा पड़ोसी तेरे पास बेखटके रहता है, तब उसके विरूद्ध बुरी युक्ति न बान्धना।

29. Don't make plans to harm your neighbor, who lives near you and trusts you.

30. जिस मनुष्य ने तुझ से बुरा व्यवहार न किया हो, उस से अकारण मुक मा खड़ा न करना।

30. Don't take people to court without good reason, especially when they have done nothing to harm you.

31. उपद्रवी पुरूष के विषय में डाह न करना, न उसकी सी चाल चलना;

31. Don't envy those who are violent. Never choose to be like them.

32. क्योंकि यहोवा कुटिल से घृणा करता है, परन्तु वह अपना भेद सीधे लोगों पर खोलता है।।

32. Such crooked people are disgusting to the Lord. But he is a friend to those who are good and honest.

33. दुष्ट के घर पर यहोवा का शाप और धर्मियों के वासस्थान पर उसकी आशीष होती है।

33. The Lord curses a wicked family, but he blesses the homes of those who live right.

34. ठट्ठा करनेवालों से वह निश्चय ठट्ठा करता है और दीनों पर अनुग्रह करता है।

34. He will humiliate those who make fun of others, but he is kind to those who are humble.

35. बुद्धिमान महिमा को पाएंगे, और मूर्खों की बढ़ती अपमान ही की होगी।।

35. The way the wise live will bring them honor, but the way fools live will bring them shame.
