1. परमेश्वर जो हमारा बल है, उसका गीत आनन्द से गाओ; याकूब के परमेश्वर का जयजयकार करो!

1. To the Chief Musician; set to Philistine lute, or [possibly] a particular Gittite tune. [A Psalm] of Asaph. SING ALOUD to God our Strength! Shout for joy to the God of Jacob!

2. भजन उठाओ, डफ और मधुर बजनेवाली वीणा और सारंगी को ले आओ।

2. Raise a song, sound the timbrel, the sweet lyre with the harp.

3. नये चाँद के दिन, और पूणमासी को हमारे पर्व के दिन नरसिंगा फुको।

3. Blow the trumpet at the New Moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.

4. क्योंकि यह इस्त्राएल के लिये विधि, और याकूब के परमेश्वर का ठहराया हुआ नियम है।

4. For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

5. इसको उस ने यूसुफ में चितौनी की रीति पर उस समय चलाया, जब वह मिस्त्र देश के विरूद्ध चला।। वहां मैं ने एक अनजानी भाषा सुनी;

5. This He ordained in Joseph [the savior] for a testimony when He went out over the land of Egypt. The speech of One Whom I knew not did I hear [saying],

6. मैं ने उनके कन्धों पर से बोझ को उतार दिया; उनका टोकरी ढोना छुट गया।

6. I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the basket.

7. तू ने संकट में पड़कर पुकारा, तब मैं ने तुझे छुड़ाया; बादल गरजने के गुप्त स्थान में से मैं ने तेरी सुनी, और मरीबा नाम सोते के पास तेरी परीक्षा की। (सेला)

7. You called in distress and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! [Num. 20:3, 13, 24.]

8. हे मेरी प्रजा, सुन, मैं तुझे चिता देता हूं! हे इस्त्राएल भला हो कि तू मेरी सुने!

8. Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you--O Israel, if you would listen to Me!

9. तेरे बीच में पराया ईश्वर न हो; और न तू किसी पराए देवता को दणडवत् करना!

9. There shall no strange god be among you, neither shall you worship any alien god.

10. तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा मैं हूं, जो तुझे मिस्त्र देश से निकाल लाया है। तू अपना मुंह पसार, मैं उसे भर दूंगा।।

10. I am the Lord your God, Who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

11. परन्तु मेरी प्रजा ने मेरी न सुनी; इस्त्राएल ने मुझ को न चाहा।

11. But My people would not hearken to My voice, and Israel would have none of Me.

12. इसलिये मैं ने उसको उसके मन के हठ पर छोड़ दिया, कि वह अपनी ही युक्तियों के अनुसार चले।

12. So I gave them up to their own hearts' lust and let them go after their own stubborn will, that they might follow their own counsels. [Acts 7:42, 43; 14:16; Rom. 1:24, 26.]

13. यदि मेरी प्रजा मेरी सुने, यदि इस्त्राएल मेरे मार्गों पर चले,

13. Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!

14. तो क्षण भर में उनके शत्रुओं को दबाऊं, और अपना हाथ उनके द्रोहयों के विरूद्ध चलाऊं।

14. Speedily then I would subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries.

15. यहोवा के बैरी तो उस के वश में हो जाते, और वे सदाकाल बने रहते हैं।

15. [Had Israel listened to Me in Egypt, then] those who hated the Lord would have come cringing before Him, and their defeat would have lasted forever.

16. और वह उनको उत्तम से उत्तम गेहूं खिलाता, और मैं चट्टान में के मधु से उनको तृप्त करूं।।

16. [God] would feed [Israel now] also with the finest of the wheat; and with honey out of the rock would I satisfy you.
