1. जैसे हरिणी नदी के जल के लिये हांफती है, वैसे ही, हे परमेश्वर, मैं तेरे लिये हांफता हूं।

5. Why art thou so full of heaviness (O my soul) and why art thou so unquiet within me? O put thy trust in God, for I will yet give him thanks, for the help of his countenance.

6. हे मेरे परमेश्वर; मेरा प्राण मेरे भीतर गिरा जाता है, इसलिये मैं यर्दन के पास के देश से और हर्मोन के पहाड़ों और मिसगार की पहाड़ी के ऊपर से तुझे स्मरण करता हूं।

6. My God, my soul is vexed within me: therefore I remember the land of Jordan, and the little hill of Hermonim.

7. तेरी जलधाराओं का शब्द सुनकर जल, जल को पुकारता है; तेरी सारी तरंगों और लहरों में मैं डूब गया हूं।

7. One deep calleth another with the voice of thy whistles, all thy waves(wawes) and water floods are gone over me.

8. तौभी दिन को यहोवा अपनी शक्ति और करूणा प्रगट करेगा; और रात को भी मैं उसका गीत गाऊंगा, और अपने जीवनदाता ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करूंगा।।

8. The LORD hath promised his loving-kindness daily, therefore will I praise him in the night season, and make my prayer unto the God of my life.

9. I will say unto God my stony rock; Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I thus heavily, while the enemy oppresseth me?

10. मेरे सतानेवाले जो मेरी निन्दा करते हैं मानो उस में मेरी हडि्डयां चूर चूर होती हैं, मानो कटार से छिदी जाती हैं, क्योंकि वे दिन भर मुझ से कहते रहते हैं, तेरा परमेश्वर कहां है?

10. While my bones are broken, and while mine enemies cast me in the teeth, daily saying unto me: Where is now thy God?

11. हे मेरे प्राण तू क्यों गिरा जाता है? तू अन्दर ही अन्दर क्यों व्याकुल है? परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रख; क्योंकि वह मेरे मुख की चमक और मेरा परमेश्वर है, मैं फिर उसका धन्यवाद करूंगा।।
