1. जब सातवां महीना आया, और इस्राएली अपने अपने नगर में बस गए, तो लोग यरूशलेम में एक मन होकर इकट्ठे हुए।

1. And when the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were now in their cities, the people came together even as one man, unto Jerusalem.

2. तब योसादाक के पुत्रा येशू ने अपने भाई याजकों समेत और शालतीएल के पुत्रा जरूब्बाबेल ने अपने भाइयों समेत कमर बान्धकर इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की वेदी को बनाया कि उस पर होमबलि चढ़ाएं, जैसे कि परमेश्वर के भक्त मूसा की व्यवस्था में लिखा है।
मत्ती 1:12, लूका 3:27

2. And there stood up Jesua the son of Josedec, and his brethren the priests, and Zorobabel the son of Salathiel and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

3. तब उन्हों ने वेदी को उसके स्थान पर खड़ा किया क्योंकि उन्हें उस ओर के देशों के लोगों का भय रहा, और वे उस पर यहोवा के लिये होमबलि अर्थात् प्रतिदिन सबेरे और सांझ के होमबलि चढ़ाने लगे।

3. And the altar set they upon his sockets (for there was a fearfulness among them because of the nations and the lands) and offered burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD, in the morning and at evening.

4. और उन्हों ने झोपड़ियों के पर्व को माना, जैसे कि लिखा है, और प्रतिदिन के होमबलि एक एक दिन की गिनती और नियम के अनुसार चढ़ाए।

4. And held the feast of tabernacles as it is written, and offered burnt sacrifices daily in order, according to the custom, day by day.(daily after the number as according was, every day his sacrifice.)

5. और उसके बाद नित्य होमबलि और नये नये चान्द और यहोवा के पवित्रा किए हुए सब नियत पव के बलि और अपनी अपनी इच्छा से यहोवा के लिये सब स्वेच्छाबलि हर एक के लिये बलि चढ़ाए।

5. Afterward the daily burnt offering also, and of the new Moons and of all the feast days of the LORD that were hallowed, and all manner of free will offerings, which they did of their own freewill(free willing) unto the LORD.

6. सातवें महीने के पहिले दिन से वे यहोवा को होमबलि चढ़ाने लगे। परन्तु यहोवा के मन्दिर की नेव तब तक न डाली गई थी।

6. Upon the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt sacrifices unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.

7. तब उन्हों ने पत्थ्र गढ़नेवालों और कारीगरों को रूपया, और सीदोनी और सोरी लोगों को खने- पीने की वस्तुएं और तेल दिया, कि वे फारस के राजा कुस्रू के पत्रा के अनुसार देवदार की लकड़ी लबानोन से जापा के पास के समुद्र में पहुंचाएं।

7. Nevertheless they gave money unto the masons and the carpenters, and meat and drink and oil unto them of Zidon and of Tyre, to bring Cedar timber from Libanus by sea(See) unto Joppa, according to the commandment of Cyrus the king of Persia.

8. उनके परमेश्वर के भवन में, जो यरूशलेम में है, अपने के दूसरे वर्ष के दूसरे महीने में, शालतीएल के पुत्रा जरूब्बाबेल ने और योसादाक के पुत्रा येशू ने और उनके और भाइयों ने जो याजक और लेवीय थे, और जितने बन्धुआई से यरूशलेम में आए थे उन्हों ने भी काम को आरम्भ किया, और बीस वर्ष अथवा उससे अधिक अवस्था के लेवियों को यहोवा के भवन का काम चलाने के लिये नियुक्त किया।

8. In the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, and Jeshua the son of Josadec, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem, and appointed the Levites from twenty year old and above, to see that the work of the house of the LORD went forward.

9. तो सेशू और उसके बेटे और भाई और कदमीएल और उसके बेटे, जो यहूदा की सन्तान थे, और हेनादाद कीं सन्तान और उनके बेटे परमेश्वर के भवन में कारीगरों का काम चलाने को खड़े हुए।

9. And Jesua stood with his sons and his brethren, and Cadmiel with his sons and the children of Judah, to further the workmen of the house of God, namely the children of Henadad with their children and their brethren the Levites.

10. और जब राजों ने यहोवा के मन्दिर की नेव डाली तब अपने वस्त्रा पहिने हुए, और तुरहियां लिये हुए याजक, और झांझ लिये हुए आसाप के वंश के लेवीय इसलिये नियुक्त किए गए कि इस्राएलियों के राजा दाऊद की चलाई हुई रीति के अनुसार यहोवा की स्तुति करें।

10. And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests stood in their array, with trumpets. And the Levites the children of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the manner(with the Dite) of David king of Israel.

11. सो वे यह गा गाकर यहोवा की स्तुति और धन्यवाद करने लगे, कि वह भला है, और उसकी करूणा इस्राएल पर सदैव बनी है। और जब वे यहोवा की स्तुति करने लगे तब सब लोगों ने यह जानकर कि यहोवा के भवन की नेब अब पड़ रही है, ऊंचे शब्द से जय जयकार किया।

11. And they sang together, giving praise and thanks unto the LORD, because he is gracious, and because his mercy endureth for ever upon Israel. And all the people shouted loud in praising the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

12. परन्तु बहुतेरे याजक और लेवीय और पूर्वजों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरूष, अर्थात् वे बूढ़े जिन्हों ने पहिला भवन देखा था, जब इस भवन की नेव उनकी आंखों के साम्हने पड़ी तब फूट फूटकर रोने लगे, और बहुतेरे आनन्द के मारे ऊंचे शब्द से जय जयकार कर रहे थे।

12. Many also of the old priests and Levites and ancient fathers, which had seen the first house: when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. And many shouted with joy,(Nevertheless many of the old priests and Levites and ancient fathers, which had seen the house afore in his foundation, and this was now before their eyes, wept loud. But many shouted with joy,)

13. इसलिये लोग, आनन्द के जय जयकार का शब्द, लोगों के रोने के शब्द से अलग पहिचान न सके, क्योंकि लोग ऊंचे शब्द से जय जयकार कर रहे थे, और वह शब्द दूर तक सुनाई देता था।

13. so that the noise gave a great sound, in so much that the people could not know the joyful sound for the noise of the weeping among(in) the people: for the people shouted with a loud cry, so that the noise was heard afar off.
