1. तब दाऊद ने दाऊदपुर में भवन बनवाए, और परमेश्वर के सन्दूक के लिये एक स्थान तैयार करके एक तम्बू खड़ा किया।

1. And he made him houses, in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

2. तब दाऊद ने कहा, लेवियों को छोड़ और किसी को परमेश्वर का सन्दूक उठाना नहीं चाहिये, क्योंकि यहोवा ने उनको इसी लिये चुना है कि वे परमेश्वर का सन्दूक उठाएं और उसकी सेवा टहल सदा किया करें।

2. Then, said David, None must carry the ark of God, save the Levites, for, of them, did Yahweh make choice, to bear the ark of Yahweh, and to attend it, unto times age-abiding.

3. तब दाऊद ने सब इस्राएलियों को यरूशलेम में इसलिये इट्ठा किया कि यहोवा का सन्दूक उस स्थान पर पहुंचाएं, जिसे उस ने उसके लिये तैयार किया था।

3. So David convoked all Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh, unto the place thereof, which he had prepared for it.

4. इसलिये दाऊद ने हारून के सन्तानों और लेवियों को इकट्ठा किया :

4. And David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites:

5. अर्थात् कहातियों में से ऊरीएल नाम प्रधान को और उसके एक सौ बीस भाइयों को;

5. Of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brethren, one hundred and twenty;

6. मरारियों में से असायाह नाम प्रधान को और उसके दो सौ बीस भाइयों को;

6. of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred and twenty;

7. गेश मियों में से योएल नाम प्रधान को और उसके एक सौ तीस भाइयों को;

7. of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brethren, one hundred and thirty;

8. एलीसापानियों में से शमायाह नाम प्रधान को और उसके दो सौ भाइयों को;

8. of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred;

9. हेब्रोनियों में से एलीएल नाम प्रधान को और उसके अस्सी भाइयों को;

9. of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brethren, eighty;

10. और उज्जीएलियों में से अम्मीनादाब नाम प्रधान को और उसके एक सौ बारह भाइयों को।

10. of the son of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twelve.

11. तब दाऊद ने सादोक और एब्यातार नाम याजकों को, और ऊरीएल, असायाह, योएल, शमायाह, एलीएल और अम्मीनादाब नाम लेवियों को बुलवाकर उन से कहा,

11. Then called David, for Zadok and for Abiathar, the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah and Joel, Shemaiah and Eliel, and Amminadab;

12. तुम तो लेवीय पितरों के घरानों में मुख्य पुरूष हो; इसलिये अपने भाइयों समेत अपने अपने को पवित्रा करो, कि तुम इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा का सन्दूक उस स्थान पर पहुंचा सको जिसको मैं ने उसके लिये तैयार किया है।

12. and said unto them, Ye, are the chiefs of the fathers of the Levites, Hallow yourselves, ye and your brethren, so shall ye bring up the ark of Yahweh God of Israel, into the place I have prepared for it.

13. क्योंकि पहिली बार तुम ने उसको न उठाया इस कारण हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा हम पर टूट पड़ा, क्योंकि हम उसकी खोज में नियम के अनुसार न लगे थे।

13. Because, at the first, ye, did not bring it , Yahweh our God brake forth against us, because we sought him not in the appointed way.

14. तब याजकों और लेवियों ने अपने अपने को पवित्रा किया, कि इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा का सन्दूक ले जा सकें।

14. So the priests and the Levites hallowed themselves, to bring up the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel.

15. तब उस आज्ञा के अनुसार जो मूसा ने यहोवा का वचन सुनकर दी थी, लेवियों ने सन्दूक को डंडों के बल अपने कंधों पर उठा लिया।

15. And the sons of the Levites bare the ark of God, just as Moses commanded, according to the word of Yahweh, on their shoulder, with the staves upon them.

16. और दाऊद ने प्रधान लेवियों को आज्ञा दी, कि अपने भाई गवैयों को बाजे अर्थात् सारंगी, वीणा और झांझ देकर बजाने और आनन्द के साथ ऊंचे स्वर से गाने के लिये नियुक्त करें।

16. And David spake to the chiefs of the Levites, to station their brethren the singers, with instruments of song, harps and lyres, and cymbals, sounding aloud at the lifting up of the voice, for joy.

17. तब लेवियों ने योएल के पुत्रा हेमान को, और उसके भाइयों में से बेरेक्याह के पुत्रा आसाप को, और अपने भाई मरारियों में से कूशायाह के पुत्रा एतान को ठहराया।

17. So the Levites caused to stand, Heman son of Joel, and, of his brethren, Asaph, son of Berechiah, and, of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan, son of Kushaiah;

18. और उनके साथ उन्हों ने दूसरे पद के अपने भाइयों को अर्थात् जकर्याह, बेन, याजीएल, शमीरामोत, यहीएल, उन्नी, एलीआब, बनायाह, मासेयाह, मत्तित्याह, एलीपलेह, मिकनेयाह, और ओबेदेदोम और पीएल को जो द्वारपाल थे ठहराया।

18. and, with them, their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mickneiah, and Obed-edom and Jeiel, the door-keepers.

19. यों हेमान, आसाप और एतान नाम के गवैये तो पीतल की झांझ बजा बजाकर राग चलाने को;

19. And, the singers, Heman, Asaph and Ethan, with cymbals of bronze, were to sound aloud;

20. और जकर्याह, अजीएल, शमीरामोत, यहीएल, उन्नी, एलीआब, मासेयाह, और बनायाह, अलामोत, नाम राग में सारंगी बजाने को;

20. and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah and Benaiah, with harps, over the trebles;

21. और मत्तित्याह, एलीपलेह, मिकनेयाह ओबेदेदोम, यीएल और अजज्याह वीणा खर्ज में छेड़ने को ठहराए गए।

21. and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel and Azaziah, with lyres over the bass, to take the lead.

22. और राग उठाने का अधिकारी कनन्याह नाम लेवियों का प्रधान था, वह राग उठाने के विषय शिक्षा देता था, क्योंकि वह निपुण था।

22. And, Chenaniah the leader of the Levites, in the service, used to give instructions in the service, because skilful was he.

23. और बेरेक्याह और एलकाना सन्दूक के द्वारपाल थे।

23. And, Berechiah and Elkanah, were door-keepers to the ark.

24. और शबन्याह, योशापात, नतनेल, अमासै, जकर्याह, बनायाह और एलीएजेर नाम याजक परमेश्वर के सन्दूक के आगे आगे तुरहियां बजाते हुए चले, और ओबेदेदोम और यहिरयाह उसके द्वारपाल थे।

24. And, Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, were blowing with the trumpets, before the ark of God, and, Obed-edom and Jehiah, were door-keepers, to the ark.

25. और दाऊद और इस्राएलियों के पुरनिये और सहस्त्रापति सब मिलकर यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक ओबेदेदोम के घर से आनन्द के साथ ले आने के लिए गए।

25. Thus, it was, David and the elders of Israel, and the rulers of thousands, who were going, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, out of the house of Obed-edom, with joy.

26. जब परमेश्वर ने लेवियों की सहायता की जो यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक उठानेवाले थे, तब उन्हों ने सात बैल और सात मेढ़े बलि किए।

26. And so it was that, when God helped the Levites, who were bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.

27. दाऊद, और यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक उठानेवाले सब लेवीय और गानेवाले और गानेवालों के साथ राग उठानेवाले का प्रधान कनन्याह, ये सब तो सन के कपड़े के बागे पहिने थे, और दाऊद सन के कपड़े का एपोद पहिने था।

27. Now, David, was wrapped about with a robe of byssus, with all the Levites who were bearing the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the leader of the service rendered by the singers, but, upon David, was an ephod of white linen.

28. इस प्रकार सब इस्राएली यहोवा की वाचा के सन्दूक को जयजयकार करते, और नरसिंगे, तुरहियां और झांझ बजाते और सारंगियां और वीणा बजाते हुए ले चले।

28. So, all Israel, were bringing up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, with shouting, and with sound of the horn, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud, with harps, and lyres.

29. जब यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक दाऊदपुर में पहुंचा तब शाऊल की बेटी मीकल ने खिड़की में से झांककर दाऊद राजा को कूदते और खेलते हुए देखा, और उसे मन ही मन तूच्छ जाना।

29. And so it was that, when the ark of the covenant of Yahweh came in as far as the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul looked forth through the window, and saw King David, dancing and playing, that she despised him in her heart.
