1. जब यहोवा एलिरयाह को बवंडर के द्वारा स्वर्ग में उठा लेने को था, तब एलिरयाह और एलीशा दोनों संग संग गिलगाल से चले।

2. एलिरयाह ने एलीशा से कहा, यहोवा मुझे बेतेल तक भेजता है इसलिये तू यहीं ठहरा रह। एलीशा ने कहा, यहोवा के और तेरे जीवन की शपथ मैं तुझे नहीं छोड़ने का; इसलिये वे बेतेल को चले गए।

2. And Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me til into Bethel. To whom Elisee seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. And whanne thei hadden come doun to Bethel,

3. और बेतेलवासी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेले एलीशा के पास आकर कहने लगे, क्या तुझे मालूम है कि आज यहोवा तेरे स्वामी को तेरे ऊपर से उठा लेने पर है? उस ने कहा, हां, मुझे भी यह मालूम है, तुम चुप रहो।

3. the sones of prophetis, that weren in Bethel, yeden out to Elisee, and seiden to hym, Whether thou knowist, that the Lord schal take awey thi lord to dai fro thee? Which answeride, And I knowe; be ye stille.

4. और एलिरयाह ने उस से कहा, हे एलीशा, यहोवा मुझे यरीहो को भेजता है; इसलिये तू यहीं ठहरा रह : उस ने कहा, यहोवा के और तेरे जीवन की शपथ मैं तुझे नहीं छोड़ने का; सो वे यरीहो को आए।

4. Forsothe Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me into Jerico. And he seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. And whanne thei hadden come to Jerico,

5. और यरीहोवासी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेले एलीशा के पास आकर कहने लगे, क्या तुझे मालूम है कि आज यहोवा तेरे स्वामी को तेरे ऊपर से उठा लेने पर है? उस ने उत्तर दिया, हां मुझे भी मालूम है, तुम चुप रहो।

5. the sones of prophetis, that weren in Jerico, neiyiden to Elisee, and seiden to hym, Whether thou knowist, that the Lord schal take awei thi lord to dai fro thee? And he seide, Y knowe; be ye stille.

6. फिर एलिरयाह ने उस से कहा, यहोवा मुझे यरदन तक भेजता है, सो तू यहीं ठहरा रह; उस ने कहा, यहोवा के और तेरे जीवन की शपथ मैं तुझे नहीं छोड़नेका; सो वे दोनों आगे चने।

6. Forsothe Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me `til to Jordan. Which seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. Therfor bothe yeden togidere;

7. और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेलों में से पचास जन जाकर उनके साम्हने दूर खड़े हुए, और वे दोनों यरदन के तीर खड़े हुए।

7. and fifti men of the sones of prophetis sueden, which also stoden fer euen ayens; sothely thei bothe stoden ouer Jordan.

8. तब एलिरयाह ने अपनी च र पकड़कर एेंठ ली, और जल पर मारा, तब वह इधर उधर दो भाग हो गया; और वे दोनों स्थल ही स्थल पार उतर गए।

8. And Elie took his mentil, and wlappide it, and smoot the watris; whiche weren departid `into euer ethir part, and bothe yeden bi the drie.

9. उनके पार पहुंचने पर एलिरयाह ने एलीशा से कहा, उस से पहिले कि मैं तेरे पास से उठा लिये जाऊं जो कुछ तू चाहे कि मैं तेरे लिये करूं वह मांग; एलीशा ने कहा, तुझ में जो आत्मा है, उसका दूना भाग मुझे मिल जाए।

9. And whanne thei hadden passid, Elie seide to Elisee, Axe thou that, that thou wolt that Y do to thee, bifor that Y be takun awey fro thee. And Elisee seide, Y biseche, that thi double spirit be `maad in me.

10. एलिरयाह ने कहा, तू ने कठिन बात मांगी है, तौभी यदि तू मुझे उठा लिये जाने के बाद देखने पाए तो तेरे लिये ऐसा ही होगा; नहीं तो न होगा।

10. Which Elie answeride, Thou axist an hard thing; netheles if thou schalt se me, whanne Y schal be takun awei fro thee, that that thou axidist schal be; sotheli, if thou schalt not se, it schal not be.

11. वे चलते चलते बातें कर रहे थे, कि अचानक एक अग्नि मय रथ और अग्निमय धोड़ों ने उनको अलग अलग किया, और एलिरयाह बवंडर में होकर स्वर्ग पर चढ़ गया।

11. And whanne thei yeden, and spaken goynge, lo! a chare of fier and horsys of fier departiden euer either; and Elie stiede bi a whirlewynd in to heuene.

12. और उसे एलीशा देखता और मुकारता रहा, हंाय मेरे पिता ! हाय मेरे पिता ! हाय इस्राएल के रथ और सवारो ! जब वह उसको फिर देख न पड़ा, तब उस ने अपते वस्त्रा पाड़े और फाड़कर दो भाग कर दिए।

12. Forsothe Elise siy, and criede, My fadir! my fadir! the chare of Israel, and the charietere therof. And he siy no more Elie. And he took hise clothis, and to-rente tho in to twei partis.

13. फिर उस ने एलिरयाह की च र उठाई जो उस पर से गिरी थी, और वह लौट गया, और यरदन के तीर पर खड़ा हुआ।

13. And he reiside the mentil of Elie, that felde doun to hym; and he turnede ayen, and stood ouer the ryuer of Jordan.

14. और उस ने एलिरयाह की वह च र जो उस पर से गिरी थी, पकड़ कर जल पर मारी और कहा, एलिरयाह का परमेश्वर यहोवा कहां है? जब उस ने जल पर मारा, तब वह इधर उधर दो भाग हो गया और एलीशा पार हो गया।

14. And with the mentil of Elie, that felde doun to hym, he smoot the watris, whiche weren not departid. And he seide, Where is God of Elie also now? And he smoot the watris, and tho weren departid hidur and thidur; and Elisee passide.

15. उसे देखकर भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेले जो यरीहो में उसके साम्हने थे, कहने लगे, एलिरयाह में जो आत्मा थी, वही एलीशा पर ठहर गई है; सो वे उस से मिलने को आए और उसके साम्हने भूमि तक झुककर दणडवत की।

15. Sotheli the sones of prophetis, that weren in Jerico euene ayens, siyen, and seiden, The spirit of Elie restide on Elisee. And thei camen in to the meetyng of hym, and worschipiden hym lowli to erthe.

16. तब उन्हों ने उस से कहा, सुन, तेरे दासों के पास पचास बलवान पुरूष हैं, वे जाकर तेरे स्वामी को ढूढें, सम्भव है कि क्या जाने यहोवा के आत्मा ने उसको उठाकर किसीं पहाड़ पर वा किसी तराई में डाल दिया हो; उस ने कहा, मत भेजो।

16. And thei seiden to hym, Lo! with thi seruauntis ben fifti stronge men, that moun go, and seke thi lord, lest perauenture the Spirit of the Lord hath take hym, and hath cast forth hym in oon of the hillis, ethir in oon of the valeys.

17. जब उन्हों ने उसको यहां तक दबाया कि वह लज्जित हो गया, तब उस ने कहा, भेज दो; सो उन्हों ने पचास पुरूष भेज दिए, और वे उसे तीन दिन तक ढूंढ़ते रहे परन्तु न पाया।

17. Which seide, `Nyle ye sende. And thei constreyneden hym, til he assentide to hem, and seide, Sende ye. And thei senten fifti men; and whanne thei hadden souyt bi thre daies, thei founden not.

18. उस समय तक वह यरीहो में ठहरा रहा, सो जब वे उसके पास लौट आए, तब उस ने उन से कहा, क्या मैं ने तुम से न कहा था, कि मत जाओ?

18. And thei turneden ayen to hym; and he dwelide in Jerico. And he seide to hem, Whether Y seide not to you, Nyle ye sende?

19. उस नगर के निवासियों ने एलीशा से कहा, देख, यह नगर मनभावने स्थान पर बसा है, जैसा मेरा प्रभु देखता है परन्तु पानी बुरा है; और भूमि गर्भ गिरानेवाली है।

19. Therfor the men of the citee seiden to Elisee, Lo! the dwellyng of this cite is ful good, as thou thi silf, lord, seest; but the watris ben ful yuele, and the lond is bareyn.

20. उस ने कहा, एक नये प्याले में नमक डालकर मेरे पास ले आओ; वे उसे उसके पास ले आए।

20. And he seide, Brynge ye to me a newe vessel, and sende ye salt in to it. And whanne thei hadden brouyt it,

21. तब वह जल के सोते के पास निकल गया, और उस में नमक डालकर कहा, यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मैं यह पानी ठीक कर देता हूँ, जिस से वह फिर कभी मृत्यु वा गर्भ गिरने का कारण न होगा।

21. he yede out to the welle of watris, and sente salt in to it, and seide, The Lord seith these thingis, Y haue helid these watris, and nethir deeth, nether bareynesse, schal be more in tho.

22. एलीशा के इस वचन के अनुसार पानी ठीक हो गया, और आज तक ऐसा ही है।

22. Therfor the watris weren heelid til in to this dai, bi the word of Elisee, which he spak.

23. वहां से वह बेतेल को चला, और मार्ग की चढ़ाई में चल रहा था कि नगर से छोटे लड़के निकलकर उसका ठट्ठा करके कहने लगे, हे चन्दुए चढ़ जा, हे चन्दुए चढ़ जा।

23. Forsothe Elisee stiede fro thennus in to Bethel; and whanne he stiede bi the weie, litle children yeden out of the citee, and scorneden hym, and seiden, Stie, thou ballard! stie, thou ballard!

24. तब उस ने पीछे की ओर फिर कर उन पर दृष्टि की और यहोवा के नाम से उनको शाप दिया, तब जंगल में से दो रीछिनियों ने निकलकर उन में से बयालीस लड़के फाड़ डाले।

24. And whanne he hadde biholde, he siy hem, and curside hem in the name of the Lord. And twey beeris yeden out of the forest, and to-rente fourti children of hem.

25. वहां से वह कर्म्मेल को गया, और फिर वहां से शोमरोन को लौट गया।

25. Sotheli Elisee wente fro thennus in to the hil of Carmele, and fro thennus he turnede `ayen to Samarie.
