1. फिर याकूब ने अपना मार्ग लिया, और पूर्व्वियों के देश में आया।

1. Therfor Jacob passide forth, and cam in to the eest lond;

2. और उस ने दृष्टि करके क्या देखा, कि मैदान में एक कुंआ है, और उसके पास भेड़- बकरियों के तीन झुण्ड बैठे हुए हैं; क्योंकि जो पत्थर उस कुएं के मुंह पर धरा रहता था, जिस में से झुण्डों को जल पिलाया जाता था, वह भारी था।

2. and seiy a pit in the feeld, and thre flockis of scheep restynge bisidis it, for whi scheep weren watrid therof, and the mouth therof was closid with a greet stoon.

3. और जब सब झुण्ड वहां इकट्ठे हो जाते तब चरवाहे उस पत्थर को कुएं के मुंह पर से लुढ़काकर भेड़- बकरियों को पानी पिलाते, और फिर पत्थर को कुएं के मुंह पर ज्यों का त्यों रख देते थे।

3. And the custom was that whanne alle scheep weren gaderid togidere, thei schulden turne awei the stoon, and whanne the flockis weren fillid thei schulden put it eft on the mouth of the pit.

4. सो याकूब ने चरवाहों से पूछा, हे मेरे भाइयो, तुम कहां के हो? उन्हों ने कहा, हम हारान के हैं।

4. And Jacob seide to the scheepherdis, Brithren, of whennus ben ye? Whiche answeriden, Of Aran.

5. तब उस ने उन से पूछा, क्या तुम नाहोर के पोते लाबान को जानते हो ? उन्हों ने कहा, हां, हम उसे जानते हैं।

5. And he axide hem and seide, Wher ye knowen Laban, the sone of Nachor? Thei seiden, We knowen.

6. फिर उस ने उन से पूछा, क्या वह कुशल से है ? उन्हों ने कहा, हां, कुशल से तो है और वह देख, उसकी बेटी राहेल भेड़- बकरियों को लिये हुए चली आती है।

6. Jacob seide, Is he hool? Thei seiden, He is in good staat; and lo! Rachel, his douytir, cometh with his flok.

7. उस ने कहा, देखो, अभी तो दिन बहुत है, पशुओं के इकट्ठे होने का समय नहीं : सो भेड़- बकरियों को जल पिलाकर फिर ले जाकर चराओ।

7. And Jacob seide, Yit myche of the dai is to come, and it is not tyme that the flockis be led ayen to the fooldis; sotheli yyue ye drynk to the scheep, and so lede ye hem ayen to mete.

8. उन्हों ने कहा, हम अभी ऐसा नहीं कर सकते, जब सब झुण्ड इकट्ठे होते हैं तब पत्थर कुएं के मुंह से लुढ़काया जाता है, और तब हम भेड़- बकरियों को पानी पिलाते हैं।

8. Whiche answeriden, We moun not til alle scheep be gederid to gidere, and til we remouen the stoon fro the mouth of the pit to watir the flockis.

9. उनकी यह बातचीत हो रही थी, कि राहेल जो पशु चराया करती थी, सो अपने पिता की भेड़- बकरियों को लिये हुए आ गई।

10. अपने मामा लाबान की बेटी राहेल को, और उसकी भेड़- बकरियों को भी देखकर याकूब ने निकट जाकर कुएं के मुंह पर से पत्थर को लुढ़काकर अपने मामा लाबान की भेड़- बकरियों को पानी पिलाया।

10. And whanne Jacob seiy hir, and knewe the douytir of his modris brothir, and the scheep of Laban his vncle, he remeuyde the stoon with which the pit was closid;

11. तब याकूब ने राहेल को चूमा, और ऊंचे स्वर से रोया।

11. and whanne the flok was watrid, he kisside hir, and he wepte with `vois reisid.

12. और याकूब ने राहेल को बता दिया, कि मैं तेरा फुफेरा भाई हूं, अर्थात् रिबका का पुत्रा हूं : तब उस ने दौड़ के अपने पिता से कह दिया।

12. And he schewide to hir that he was the brothir of hir fadir, and the sone of Rebecca; and sche hastide, and telde to hir fadir.

13. अपने भानजे याकूब को समाचार पाते ही लाबान उस से भेंट करने को दौड़ा, और उसको गले लगाकर चूमा, फिर अपने घर ले आया। और याकूब ने लाबान से अपना सब वृत्तान्त वर्णन किया।

13. And whanne he hadde herd, that Jacob, the sone of his sistir, cam, he ran ayens hym, and he biclippide Jacob and kisside hym, and ledde in to his hows. Forsothe whanne the causis of the iurney weren herd,

14. तब लाबान ने याकूब से कहा, तू तो सचमुच मेरी हड्डी और मांस है। सो याकूब एक महीना भर उसके साथ रहा।

14. Laban answeride, Thou art my boon and my fleisch. And aftir that the daies of o moneth weren fillid, Laban seide to him,

15. तब लाबान ने याकूब से कहा, भाईबन्धु होने के कारण तुझ से सेंतमेंत सेवा कराना मुझे उचित नहीं है, सो कह मैं तुझे सेवा के बदले क्या दूं ?

15. `Whethir for thou art my brothir, thou schalt serue me frely? seie thou what mede thou schalt take.

16. लाबान के दो बेटियां थी, जिन में से बड़ी का नाम लिआ : और छोटी का राहेल था।

16. Forsothe Laban hadde twei douytris, the name of the more was Lya, sotheli the lesse was clepid Rachel;

17. लिआ : के तो धुन्धली आंखे थी, पर राहेल रूपवती और सुन्दर थी।

17. but Lya was blere iyed, Rachel was of fair face, and semeli in siyt.

18. सो याकूब ने, जो राहेल से प्रीति रखता था, कहा, मैं तेरी छोटी बेटी राहेल के लिये सात बरस तेरी सेवा करूंगा।

18. And Jacob louede Rachel, and seide, Y schal serue thee seuene yeer for Rachel thi lesse douytir.

19. लाबान ने कहा, उसे पराए पुरूष को देने से तुझ को देना उत्तम होगा; सो मेरे पास रह।

19. Laban answeride, It is betere that Y yyue hir to thee than to anothir man; dwelle thou at me.

20. सो याकूब ने राहेल के लिये सात बरस सेवा की; और वे उसको राहेल की प्रीति के कारण थोड़े ही दिनों के बराबर जान पड़े।

20. Therfor Jacob seruyde seuene yeer for Rachel; and the daies semyden fewe to hym for the greetnesse of loue.

21. तब याकूब ने लाबान से कहा, मेरी पत्नी मुझे दे, और मैं उसके पास जाऊंगा, क्योंकि मेरा समय पूरा हो गया है।

21. And he seide to Laban, Yyue thou my wijf to me, for the tyme is fillid that Y entre to hir.

22. सो लाबान ने उस स्थान के सब मनुष्यों को बुलाकर इकट्ठा किया, और उनकी जेवनार की।

22. And whanne many cumpenyes of freendis weren clepid to the feeste, he made weddyngis,

23. सांझ के समय वह अपनी बेटी लिआ : को याकूब के पास ले गया, और वह उसके पास गया।

23. and in the euentid Laban brouyte in to hym Lya his douytir,

24. और लाबान ने अपनी बेटी लिआ : को उसकी लौंडी होने के लिये अपनी लौंडी जिल्पा दी।

24. and yaf an handmaide, Selfa bi name, to the douyter. And whanne Jacob hadde entrid to hir bi custom, whanne the morewtid was maad, he seiy Lya,

25. भोर को मालूम हुआ कि यह तो लिआ है, सो उस ने लाबान से कहा यह तू ने मुझ से क्या किया है ? मैं ने तेरे साथ रहकर जो तेरी सेवा की, सो क्या राहेल के लिये नहीं की ? फिर तू ने मुझ से क्यों ऐसा छल किया है ?

25. and seide to his wyues fadir, What is it that thou woldist do? wher Y seruede not thee for Rachel? whi hast thou disseyued me?

26. लाबान ने कहा, हमारे यहां ऐसी रीति नहीं, कि जेठी से पहिले दूसरी का विवाह कर दें।

26. Laban answerde, It is not custom in oure place that we yyue first the `lesse douytris to weddyngis;

27. इसका सप्ताह तो पूरा कर; फिर दूसरी भी तुझे उस सेवा के लिये मिलेगी जो तू मेरे साथ रहकर और सात वर्ष तक करेगा।

27. fille thou the wouke of daies of this couplyng, and Y schal yyue to thee also this Rachel, for the werk in which thou schalt serue me bi othere seuene yeer.

28. सो याकूब ने ऐसा ही किया, और लिआ : के सप्ताह को पूरा किया; तब लाबान ने उसे अपनी बेटी राहेल को भी दिया, कि वह उसकी पत्नी हो।

28. Jacob assentide to the couenaunt, and whanne the wouke was passid,

29. और लाबान ने अपनी बेटी राहेल की लौंडी होने के लिये अपनी लौंडी बिल्हा को दिया।

29. he weddide Rachel, to whom the fadir hadde youe Bala seruauntesse.

30. तब याकूब राहेल के पास भी गया, और उसकी प्रीति लिआ: से अधिक उसी पर हुई, और उस ने लाबान के साथ रहकर सात वर्ष और उसकी सेवा की।।

30. And at the laste he vside the weddyngis desirid, and settide the loue of the `wijf suynge bifore the former; and he seruede at Laban seuene othere yeer.

31. जब यहोवा ने देखा, कि लिआ: अप्रिय हुई, तब उस ने उसकी कोख खोली, पर राहेल बांझ रही।

31. Forsothe the Lord seiy that he dispiside Lya, and openyde hir wombe while the sistir dwellide bareyn.

32. सो लिआ: गर्भवती हुई, और उसके एक पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुआ, और उस ने यह कहकर उसका नाम रूबेन रखा, कि यहोवा ने मेरे दु:ख पर दृष्टि की है : सो अब मेरा पति मुझ से प्रीति रखेगा।

32. And Lia childide a sone conseyued, and clepide his name Ruben, and seide, The Lord seiy my mekenesse; now myn hosebonde schal loue me.

33. फिर वह गर्भवती हुई और उसके एक पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुआ; और उस ने यह कहा कि यह सुनके, कि मै अप्रिय हूं यहोवा ने मुझे यह भी पुत्रा दिया : इसलिये उस ने उसका नाम शिमोन रखा।

33. And eft sche conseyuede, `and childide a sone, and seide, For the Lord seiy that Y was dispisid, he yaf also this sone to me; and sche clepide his name Symeon.

34. फिर वह गर्भवती हुई और उसके एक पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुआ; और उस ने कहा, अब की बार तो मेरा पति मुझ से मिल जाएगा, क्योंकि उस से मेरे तीन पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुए : इसलिये उसका नाम लेवी रखा गया।

34. And sche conseyuede the thridde tyme, and childide anothir sone, and she seide also, Now myn hosebonde schal be couplid to me, for Y childide thre sones to him; and therfor sche clepide his name Leuy.

35. और फिर वह गर्भवती हुई और उसके एक और पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुआ; और उस ने कहा, अब की बार तो मैं यहोवा का धन्यवाद करूंगी, इसलिये उस ने उसका नाम यहूदा रखा; तब उसकी कोख बन्द को गई।।

35. The fourthe tyme sche conseyuede, and childide a sone, and seide, Now I schal knouleche to the Lord; and herfor she clepide his name Judas; and ceesside to childe.
